FA confirms it's carried over from the Copa Italia. What a pisstake.

Doubt he'd have played anyway.

He wouldn't have played anyway. Next to nothing match practice and training with us.

Not sure he would have started anyway, so probably doesn't disrupt the team for Sunday plans anyway.

This is clearly an ABU conspiracy.

Also like @duffer points out we've paid £225m for a guy that can't even start our first match in the PL, we've clearly been ripped off. It is even worse when you consider that he is on roughly 450k/week excluding bonuses, turning every week he can't play into a massive loss.

Wouldn't of expected him to play anyway, though a little odd that the club haven't (yet) mentioned it in their build up to the Bournemouth match.

This is all a bit odd. I'm sure suspensions didn't used to apply across countries... there was somebody who came back to the EPL and had to serve a several-year-old suspension once, wasn't there?

I remember Evra and Rooney once served 3 match suspensions for red cards in a pre season friendly.

He would not of played anyway, so the one match ban means nothing, he has not played since the Euro Final , been on holiday , no pre season , no matches, yes he may be fit but needs some football under his belt before his first game.

The FA always comes down harder on Man Utd than on other clubs. The FA gave Rio a longer ban for missing a drugs test than it gave to Newton for playing the 2006 FA Cup final high on coke.

Its been this way for decades. In spite of making more money for the FA than any other club (notice our FA Cup games are always televised), there is this attitude at the FA that they can show themselves to be 'tough' and 'independent' if they arbitrarily attack us.

People used to say Fergie created a siege mentality but the reality is United IS under siege: The FA, our rivals, the talking heads on TV, they all hate us. This is more proof. I hope Mourinho has a go about it in his press conference.

This is a joke right? Has this ever actually happened before?!

If we'd signed him before the Leicester game the ban would have been served already, no?

Damn those long holidays.

I checked the website last night, as I was putting my Fantasy Football team together, and he wasn't on there then. Surely not even the FA are tinpot enough to only realise/let the club know 2 days before the season starts?
