Inoticed that. mandzukic was the main culprit. No wonder juve were willing to pay that much for Higuain.
yeah, watching that video it makes one wonder how can someone miss such perfectly good lay down assists, Pogba should have had north of 30 assists last season if not for strikers(Mandzukic in particular, and Morata to some extent) messing up more often than not.

Just been sent a photo by the missus of my son in a Pogba shirt

As an old(ish) fart, I often feel disconnected with where football is going and feel a bit weird about our new galactico policy. However, it's easy for people like me to forget that there's a new generation of fans out there, who have been crying out for a bit of razzmatazz at United. My lad is 7 and mad about United (the power of brainwashing) but has struggled to find positives while watching us play these last couple of seasons. Which made me hate Van Gaal with a passion. He's besides himself with excitement about this deal, though. He's been on a soccer camp during the school holidays and all the kids his age are doing dab celebrations and think Pogba is cool as feck. Such an inspirational signing for the kids who are just starting to fall in love with United. We've been painfully short of star quality for ages and he has it in spades.

I love this so much

I know this video has been posted but i strongly recommend people with doubts to watch it. It's not some scrabby 5 minutes highlight video.
I can't see how he's going to be anything other than a success here. I watched him in the reserves but this player is unrecognisable. He has elevated his game so much.
Is there a more complete young midfielder. Strength, pae, skill, balance, technique, grace, guile, toughness, passing(long and short)...this guy has it all. Look at how players are bouncing off him.

Watching this, he somehow reminds me so much of Zidane.

The grace and simplicity with which he beats his man - of course, still needs to go up a notch or two to get to Zidane's level. But boy, he makes it look so simple!

Agree, he seems like a natural fit lad. Cameo against B'mouth and start against Southampton.
Would be nice for him to come on and get an ovation and welcome back to OT vs Soton. No way he will be fit for the game and start in a week and a half

ITV news have just covered it, reporting how we sold him 4 years ago for around £1m

Other fans and media are clueless about Pogba and United, they think we didn't rate him so sold him.

Wonderful to hear, and exactly what we seem to be thinking about now. Young fans will naturally have been less enthused about United as we've had a few years of dire football and little to excite fans.

It's not just the fans that will take notice of course, young, world class players will have noticed too, that his signing for us is treated as the biggest thing in football, and signing a Griezmann or whoever the next big thing is next summer is far more likely as a result.

This signing is perfect on every level. Pogba is so relatable to young fans. He is full of charisma, 'cool' and flashiness. He's a huge marketing tool for us, but also exactly what we need on the pitch: someone who has confidence in buckets and is a young, truly top class player and has chosen to sign for us. Then there's the fact that he's fantastic at actually playing football and will add real class to a position we really needed to improve!

I'm old too and have teenage sons who, sadly, were mostly raised by their mum to hate football (because I like it), but even I can see how exciting this signing is and that it's probably the biggest, in every sense, that we've made in many years.

For those of you who are expecting spectacular goals, hollywood dribbles, and a bagful of goals that you'd expect from the likes of Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar from midfield in the premier league will probably be dissappointed. We have bought him to control the tempo of games just like Scholes did and to quicken play between the lines. We can expect him to pick out players from all over the pitch and create plenty of opportunities. We can expect him to be a monster in midfield (Just looking at him recently on TV he's taller than I expected!!). My prediction is that we'll see about 10 goals from him this season but the main difference is that we now have a presence in midfield.Hes got all the physical and technical attributes to get even better. Yes we have overpaid but 3 seasons down the line I think it'll be a great investment.

Have you ever watched him play?

Yes I have seen the Viera & Toure comparisons but agree on that he reminds me a lot more of Zidane. A long way still to reach those heights & they will always be different players but he plays the game in a similar way to ZZ.

Bluemoon are still going with the line that he hates us.
pogba signing is yet another conspiracy made up by the rags, you know. ManUre hasn't actually signed him but they are pretending they did with clearly photoshopped images, fake news stories and interviews with hired actors.

It's an easy myth to peddle: "he hates them but he's a mercenary so went there for the money, because Madrid didn't want him as he's not good enough".

While we're doing comparisons, for me Gerrard is the player he reminds me of the most. He has the same lanky style on the ball, uses his physique in much the same manner, and has a similar shot on him.

I hope he'll have that same talismanic presence on the pitch for us as Stevie G had for L'Pool in his pomp as well. As much as I hated Liverpool back then (they are such a non-entity these days) he really was a spectacular player.

Every player that ever signed for them after the takeover can be classified as as a mercenary.

Nobody went there for the rich history, magnificent football or full stadium.

They are the biggest most delusional hyphocrites you will find in football. Complaining that other teams splash the cash whilst it is the sole reason they have any relevance in football.

Can't believe it's already been 7 years since you had your kid Pogue! Geez time flies!

Some feller off RAWK is saying Pogba is good but not world class.

They also seem to think Mourinho's recent comments indicate that José is nervous ahead of his season against The Mighty Klopp and his arch-nemesis Pep, completely ignoring the fact that Mourinho was the only manager during SAF's reign who didn't at some point get affected by SAF's mind games when it got nervy, unlike their patron saint Rafa.

he has way better touch and control than Gerrard, maybe not the directness
I agree, from what I've seen those two points are the biggest differences. Pogba's touch and ability in tight spaces is probably quite a bit better. And he may not be as direct as Gerrard, but he is very similar when driving forward (attacking the space :D) and I think that will be one of his most defining strengths in our setup. Lord knows we're in dire need of it!

We'll see if I will be right or wrong. :)
If he really leaves I will say sorry. :D

Good night everyone. :)

I was always optimistic about Paul staying with us, but I was wrong, and since everything has been confirmed I'm here to apologize, as I promised in the other thread! :D

I was really hoping that he could have stick with us for at least one final year... with the squad that we've built for next season I'm quite sure that we will be able to compete seriously in the UCL... without Paul this might be harder but we'll try our best anyway.

Enjoy, you will surely have fun with him! ;)

I totally see the ZZ comparison! Like ZZ I think he'll go on to be the best player on the planet.

Think you'll compete pretty well regardless. Expect Pjanic to be immense for you, him and Piguain. (sorry... had to)

Yeah, last year Pjanic had a similar season to Paul's one (12 assists, both league leaders) and actually two goals more (10-8).
He's definitely a great signing and I expect a lot from him.
Other signings has been great too: Higuain of course, Benatia (that is improving an already strong defence), Dani Alves (imho still one of the best in his role... it was only a friendly but he had a great game a few days ago vs West Ham) and Pjaca (21 years old, very interesting prospect).
I think we might need one more player in the midfield though, since Marchisio is expected to comeback only in October.
