Paul Pogba - Juventus player | ban reduced - able to play competitively from March 2025

Has anyone else made club moves like this?

Good question. Morata has done it (Real-Juventus) but with Atlético in the middle and the most recent Juventus one was a loan. If you're talking about in that order and having to be permanent transfers, that's a tough one to find.

That's a good one but I'm looking for one just like Pogba.

He only has himself to blame, all the talent in the world but feels like he never committed or gave himself to the cause (France maybe excluded).

You're never bigger than the project, regardless of what it is...we're a team at the end of the day.
Course not. When you think of the players those clubs have ever wanted off us they've been top quality and grafters. His lazy approach to playing, especially defending, would turn any big club off him. Juve have made a nostalgia signing similar to what we did, good enough business for them on the face of it, but the fans there will have turned on him by the end of the season when he spends half the season in Dubai and and the other half jogging back to watch his defenders get over run by the opposition. He'll be on the market within 2 seasons.

The bad will towards Pogba from people on here, people on social media, and also mancunian united fans annoys me because I will always class Paul as one of us. I am friends with a player who played alongside him in the youth team and Paul was always desperate to be a big player for us. He spent alot of his life in manchester (technically trafford and then cheshire). His teamates have always spoke highly of him. I remember watching him at moss lane probably a decade ago and he looked better than almost everyone on the pitch but he played with a smile on his face and was so positive.

I honestly believe Raiola was the worst thing to happen to him. He manipulated Pogba and controlled so much of his decision making. Mino had no interest in his clients performances as long as he was making a fortune.

Anyway, Pogbas an honourary manc and always will be.

His second stint with us wasn't as great as it could have been but I'll always have time for him.

Mino made him one of the richest footballers in history. Mino is bad for fans he is amazing for footballers. You want money ? Get someone like Raiola. It’s a job bottomline is it not ? I dont think there’s any manipulation here.

I don't really get the criticism we get for losing Pogba on a free. We signed him for 6 years and he stayed for those six years.

Its not like Juventus have come out of this that great yes they got a player back for free that they recieved 90 million pounds for but it was 6 years ago.

They have arguably lost his best years

Had he come back on a free after 2 or 3 years then yes shame on us but after fulfulling his contract i don't get the criticism.

Mino was a businessman. He had no interest in the actual game of football. I do not care about money. This is a sport that we all love to play and watch. Mino was everything that's wrong with modern football.

Enjoy. He’s a class player, Juve know what they are getting and how to get the best out of him. They also know the type of player he is. So won’t be expecting a one man rescue act.

Reports are that hes only on €8m/year at Juventus. I don't believe that for a second. There are god knows how many clubs who would have paid him double that simply because he didn't come with any tranfer fee. Thats about £130k/week. Thats the amount top clubs pay their rank and file players.

Wages in Italy are always reported as net, not gross.

He's a class player when surrounded by quality that can hide his weaknesses. Let's see how he fares in a significantly weakened Juve midfield.

Because there is nothing to get it's a silly internet meme.

He'll be earning between 8 and 10M net (after-tax) in Italy. To get the same salary in England he'd need circa £300k/week.

There’s not a lot of complete footballers with no weaknesses. There’s not another player in United squad that would get near to France’s midfield. But they have players to cover his weaknesses and he has the ability to elevate them. We have McT and Fred who are frankly very average footballers who have to cover for each other’s weaknesses.

do we really need a thread on him, let's just forget about him, he was mainly shite during his time with us, sulky and injured. Good riddance.

Pogbas biggest weakness is his attitude and application on the pitch. He cares far more about international football and has an easier time because its slower than the PL. You are right, there are almost no complete footballers but all the best players want to play and give their all either for their team or their own personal glory. When they don't they quickly fall away.

Pogba at his best is sublime. That just makes it even more infuriating when hes bang average for the other 90% and seemingly content to be so.
