Paul Pogba - Free Agent | ban reduced - able to play competitively from March 2025

He's not going to be match fit immediately so you can see why clubs will be reluctant to offer him anything at the moment. It'll be the end of the season before he's properly fit, in the summer I expect he'll get a few more sides interested.

He's not played professional football since February 2024. He's only been allowed to start training since January 2025. Far from peak condition.
Surely during that time he must have spent money on state of the art trainers to keep his fitness and football skills up somewhat.

Surely he didn’t actually abide by that, right? Right?
The training ban can only be training with a team. They can’t stop him from training by himself or even hiring 22 ex/amateur players and a few coaches to do his own training and replicate a club environment.

This guy won't play regular competitive football ever again. Let's not forget he was hurt for about 2 solid years before this ban. He hasn't played more than a couple games since about 2022.

MLS or Saudi league next… He is never gonna be back to enough fitness for top European football.

I’d be looking to go to MLS if I was him. He loves it in the US. Nice easy league for him to play football in and enjoy it. I’m sure there’d be plenty of takers.

My Cousin helps run Cardiff Cosmopolitan FC so I reckon I could get him a trial if he fancies stepping up to play in the South Wales Alliance Championship.

That's a good idea, he only needs to be careful if any of his teammate calls him the GOAT.

You can give someone all the state of the art trainers you want, genuine match fitness just can’t be obtained without playing actual professional football matches.

Assuming they let him in, he's not white for starters

Yeah of course. But if he was even half motivated to play again I don’t think he’ll be as out of shape as people realise. Sure match fitness will be an issue, but look at Greenwood when he went to Getafe.

Greenwood was a young player who wasn't injured though. It's a totally different set of circumstances to Pogba. It was never going to take him long to get back in shape.

Pogba is 32 and hasn't played a competitive game of football in 18 months. Before his ban he'd only started 1 game since he left Utd and overall made 12 appearances for Juve totalling about 200 minutes.

With his injury record of the last few years, I'll be amazed if he's able to get back fully fit and playing anywhere near what he was capable of.

Didn't he have the worst defensive stats out of any forward in Europe? That could just be his attitude to off the ball work but he's not the best example. Very low work rate on his return.

Pogba been out much longer as well with the injuries beforehand.

Bit of a lottery as to what he'll be like.

His time out during the ban only tells half the story. Don't forget he pretty much missed the entire season before his ban with injury.

He has 12 appearances in the last 3 years.

Don't we have a LB on our books with the same amount of appearances the last 3 years? Sure feels like it.

That’s a great point that can’t be debated.

The right thing to do is for him to have more stint with us and Juve before he hangs his boots up for good.
