Paul Pogba - Free Agent | ban reduced - able to play competitively from March 2025

A range of events will be held throughout the year under the slogan ‘United Once, United Forever’. The initiative seeks to significantly increase communication with former Academy players, offering access to informal education and workshops on personal development and life skills, further education and qualifications, support in finding new playing and post-playing career opportunities and wide-ranging wellbeing support.

Guy left the club twice on a free and admitted didnt want to be here

He'll struggle to find a club after his recent injury record and being away from football for so long, even in Saudi Arabia. His best bet is to find a club where he could train with the first team, prove his fitness, and earn a contract. I think plenty of clubs in France would be happy to help him.
Why am I getting the feeling that we'd give him that.

He left us for free to join Juve, after years of insane wages and constant drama. He didn't think once about helping us recoup some of his £80m+ transfer fee, only about lining his pockets.
Huh? He'd quite clearly been open to leaving (if not outright wanting to leave) for a few years before he finally did, but the club had no interest in letting him go. At least not for a fee that any club would offer.

Didn’t he say he will prove us wrong when leaving ? Definitely left a sour taste on his departure. But the dreamer in me says, chuck it! Let’s get the gang back together with him and Ronaldo

Bad influence. Keep him far away from the club. We don't want players jogging up and down the pitch instead of running.

Reading this thread is genuinely close to giving me a brain aneurysm.

Anyone who wants him back is fecking mental.
This, this and triple this......we heard, saw or read Amorim's interview yesterday and people still strain themselves to justify some sort of return for this individual.
The very thought of him in a Utd shirt is sickening.

If he accepts 100k per week I'd take him. Just to see the return of Jeppers7 alt account.

I can't believe that a lot here want his toxicity back.
No please

This is literally the definition of insanity. We keep trying the same thing multiple times and expect different results.

If this happens then the new regime has started in the worst possible way. Pogba has lost his hunger years back. He has no interest in pursuing team goals and championship medals. Pogba only wants to play for personal honors and for showboating. He is going to set us back another year if allowed back into the fold, will end us dividing the fanbase, will force Amorim to pull his hair off, and finally feck off after squeezing us dry.

He can come back as a former player to watch our games but never as a squad option. Please no.

Exactly. The cretin was complete selfish freak towards the club, gave feck all when we needing him. Trained with us for years and gave crap performance and now some of the fans says he can contribute to the club after not playing nor training for 3 years. Mental.

Ashamed to say I’d have him back if circumstances allowed. He wasn’t as bad a many make out and ultimately he was a fun football player to watch. There’s been too few of those at Utd and in football in general for my money!
Good player on his day but couldn’t stay fit consistently so another one for the treatment room.

Good footballer but a toxic person with a bad attitude. If we take him back, I'll give up any glimmer of hope I've held on to.

People have very short memories and people care more about individuals than team. It is instagramians and tiktokers world.

He proved we should have gotten rid of him earlier instead of trying to get him to extend his contract.

He's been on a retail assistant's salary since the ban hasn't he? Let's just offer him that and have him work the megastore whenever he's injured. Always a place for you at OT, Pogs.

It's actually kind of funny fans thinking a player is toxic when it appears that the only toxic element is the fans bitterness towards the player.

I don't even know if these training rumours are true but if so, there's no issue at all. By all accounts he's liked by the players and staff and I very much doubt he will be used in first team training. It's a nice thing to do, let him train, he'll find another club and it will all be forgotten.

I do not envisage a scenario where we actually sign him. It would be a step back and not a wise move for any party imo.

He's barely played for nearly 4 years.

He'll go wherever offers him the least amount of work for the most amount of money.

Everyone can appreciate the idea of Paul Pogba. I get that. The fact is that it’s an idea only. In practice it doesn’t really work out. Why should it work out now?

Is like inviting the next viral epidemic into your training ground. Never want to see him or his stupid walk remotely close to the club again

I'm glad we offer our facilities to ex academy graduates, but we should not be looking at resigning him as a player, short term or not.

People need to understand that the circumstances are just completely different to when he was here last, both for the player and for the club. If a potential deal comes true that’s genuinely mutual beneficial it would be stupid not to make that move, particularly if the terms were in our favor. Can’t deny the feel good factor there if it went well and also just the benefits to having a guy who knows the club and could come in and be a great mentor to the likes of Mainoo/Kone etc.
God no, why would you want the guy that shafted us twice and openly admitted not wanting to be here influencing Kobbie and Kone? So he can encourage them to go to Juve?

Entirely depends on if he can stay fit. His last couple of seasons here it looked like he couldn't handle the intensity of this league anymore.

If he can handle it, it's a no brainer. We desperately need more quality. I don't think he can anymore, though.

This was one of his last performances:

Some moments of quality, but didn't seem to be moving too well (in a much slower league) and ended with a hamstring injury. Unfortunately, because I'd love to see him back playing well, too, I think that ship has sailed.

It’s done, sadly. His last few performances here you could tell all the pace and dynamism had gone out of his game. That was a huge part of his skillset.

Best case scenario he could replace the type of role Eriksen currently has, but even then there’s no real point because I imagine he’ll be just as injury prone once the fixtures start adding up.

Why would we allow him to mix with our team in such a crucial point? Baffling
Because they’ve got no cash for transfers and the powers that be, probably think we could sign him on a short term contract for day 6 months which allows him to show form to get a move to Saudi or to MLS, we might even think if we had 6 month plus 1 year on 100k per week max that we could get a transfer fee in summer by activating it, let me be clear here Pogba has had his chance however if the club could pay him £2.5m then get a £15m transfer fee to Saudi, I’m all over that, we should have got £25m for Ronaldo but we messed that up, club needs cash.

… or probably more that we’re allowing a former academy player to get his fitness up. Who also, much to the chagrin of our fanbase, actually had good relations with most of the players and internal staff at the club

It's not really about being liked. I'm sure he is.

It's more about a personality that isn't best suited to a sporting environment that wants to be at the very top.

Everybody liked Mark Bosnich. Even Roy Keane did. But if you want to win a Champs League is that kind of character who you want around the place.
