I thought he had a tough ask today, there was little support from wide areas with Rashford/Young almost always behind him and Ibra not making enough runs in behind. Did think he was a bit sloppy with his touch at times though. Still looking to click with him but I think the problem is the attack as a whole, it just doesn't have a good balance atm. Ibra doesn't have the pace and the wide players aren't really creative players whether it's rashford, young or Martial. If you play Mata there he's not going to stay wide. Fingers crossed on Mikhi because we needed more from one of the flanks which should help Pogba as well.

Back to 'play him at #6' after another shite he's served at #10 eh?

I wouldn't be as harsh on him today as I were after the Feyenoord game, as this has been overall pretty specific game to play, but he's been poor, again.

We attacked with two men at most. Young was playing as a left back most of the game and frankly so was Rashford at right back. He still wonderfully created a good chance for Zlatan. They were feeding of long passes and expected to do something in against 5 or 6 Liverpool players. That was never going to look pretty.
yep. agree. Today was difficult for attackers. He wasn't great, but given the tactics his performance was decent.

I think the criticism on today's performance is quite unfair.
I mean we attacked with minimal numbers, and when he looks up, all he really had to aim for was Zlatan, whose never going to run in behind, so there's not much else he could do going forward.

That said, I agree that he does need to up his game overall from what I have seen so far

Some real idiots around on here tonight.

We sat back and gave the front 2 very little support, pogba was having to carry the ball with little to no help.

Yet again though he should have had another assist. He gave the best pass of the game, that's all he can do.

He was poor but his task today was to attack by himself with just Ibra (who was terrible again) for support. Not a surprise he came up short.

I thought he did a decent job defensively.

But feck me, he needs to contribute more to attack. Don't really care about all the social media stuff, that's just how football is these days. I know we were set up very defensively today, but I was most disappointed with his touch and control today. Lost the ball again and again. Someone with his blend of physique and technique has no excuse for that.

Needs to go back to basics and build his performances from the ground up.

Nah, he was amazing, 10/10 performance, definitely

Seeing as anything but praise=writing him off permanently and saying he'll never make it. So yeah, that was a peak Vieira performance

Far too peripheral for my liking tonight. Still created our best chance, but Fellaini and Herrera stood out more in midfield.

This. It is annoying and I can't argue with those on here saying he did his job and no complaints. Next thing you know he will play well in the next game and I'll be quoted for "Hahaha proved you wrong didn't he!".

Anyone that can't see how terrible he was tonight is just being blinded by their fanboyism. We've all been there.

So, so disappointing. He's not even an £8.9 million player at the moment.

Mata would've done a better job in his position.

At least things can only improve for him.

Needs to play with a rabbits foot, sourced from a welsh mountain, and attached to his shorts to be truly effective.

It's just his attitude I don't like. Most of the time he just strolls around and sometimes he even doesn't run for a ball when in front of him. He should look up to Ander in that department.

He was absolutely nowhere near terrible. If Zlatan sticks away that header this thread would be playing a different tune.

I've noted this a lot too. Him and Zlatan are so often flat footed on the pitch. I don't quite get why.

He created our best chance didn't he?

Rooney got stick for Scoring the odd goal or getting an assist to paper over his bad performances, creating a chance we didn't even score from isn't really enough is it.

To me, it's not even that he's not playing well.

Physically, he looks legged. Step too slow with everything. Disappointing.

This mindless defending of him as to stop. This is not "his job".

Mindlessly defending a player. Frustrating isn't it?

So tell me what was his job today in a game when Mou played for a draw a hoped from one piece of magic from him?

Whatever the job is his touch and passing needs to be better.

It all just looks a bit quick for him at the moment.

His style of play makes it REALLY hard to patient when he's playing poorly. We do need to be patient, obviously, but he's fecking infuriating right now. So irritating to watch.

Although completely different types of players, Ben Arfa is the same. They have this way of carrying the ball that makes you think they're taking the piss, that they find it too easy. It's just a style of play but I can understand how infuriating it can be for fans.

I'm surprised at the criticism. We played for a draw and gave him no support at all. Basically a 1 vs 3 at many occasions with his back towards the oppositions goal.

Yes, his passing should have been sharper but we played with zero intent tonight.

He was quite bad but let's not exaggerate, he is still far away from being a bust of a transfer and has plenty of time to improve. The worst thing we could do right now is write him off or put unnecessary pressure on him 3 months into his United career.

He's also had very good games for us.

I'm talking more about his attitude when off the ball and in defense.

Zlatan was at least running and pressing a lot, Pogba not so much. Sometimes it looked like he doesn't know where to be or who to press.
