I think our attack really struggled tonight due to Pogba's injury. Fellaini may have done a relatively good job at keeping our defence compact; however, he didn't really have and influence on the game aerially (Something which we needed from him tonight in order to get some respite from City's possession) and his lack of technical ability really negated our ability to hit City on the break. Where one touch was needed, Fellaini would take two, killing down our potential breaks before they had even started.
Pogba has really been slated in the media throughout the season, a lot of which has been unjust. I think that people nearly expect him to score 20+ goals a season (10+ form outside the box), get 25+ assists a season, and then run up and down the pitch like a madman to justify his transfer fee. Anyway, Pogba would have been very capable of linking up our transitions from attack to defence if he had've been the most advanced CM in a midfield-three. Moreover, he would have had the passing ability and vision to play balls through for Rashford, something which Fellaini was unable to do tonight. Next season, our midfield depth has to improve because we can't rely on Pogba having to play every single came; a fresh Paul Pogba is obviously a much better player then a very fatigued Paul Pogba.
