Was very good today. Thursday would be a great time for him to produce his best performance of the season. The match could suit him with space in behind City's defence to exploit with Rashford's pace. Due a goal too.

Any news on whether or not he's injured? Did just look like he was cramped up, rather than injured

Doing what he needs to to iron out the rough edges on his game. In the buildup to Rooney's goal, he showed his strength, skill, and vision in just 3 touches. If he can improve the finishing, he will suddenly get the respect his game already deserves.

His midfield fundamentals have really been there all season. He's done a very good job in our engine room. And we've seen plenty of lovely bits of skill and flair from him.

He won't win plaudits from outside United's fanbase until he starts getting the 'tip of the iceberg' stuff right - high assist stats and a regular supply of those wonder strikes he has in his locker. But it won't be long before those things start to materialise, because he's been so close to getting them right all season. If Zlatan et al hadn't been so wasteful in the first six months of the season his assists would be up there with the highest in the league. And how many times has he Pogboomed into the woodwork?

In the meantime, Mourinho hired him for the stuff he's already doing, not for the Hollywood extras.

Couldn't agree more. I think he has been great for us so far. He has been our playmaker.

I know it's a lazy comparison but he's reminding me of Vieira more and more. He's got that same dominating frame mixed with a deceptively silky touch.

He'll get better and better, he's got the lot

Any word on his potential injury?

Reckon there would have been leaks by now if it was more than cramps.

The content of this thread after the Burnley game speaks volumes. Unanimous praise. Which goes to show that when he was getting stick after less impressive displays it wasn't because of uncultured buffoons unable to appreciate the subtle ways he improves us as a team. When he plays well it's obvious he's playing well. To everybody.

His potential is huge, so he needs to show much more than the average player so the fans will be pleased. From him, you expect magic in every game, but that's just not possible.

Play him in a three and he'll instantly look like a better player, in my opinion. Hoping this is the way Mourinho will play next season.

Pretty much

He's really starting to show why we dominated the Pogba thread last year  So worth it!

He's an incredible footballer and we're extremely lucky to have him. He's on the verge of becoming world class and one of the top 5 CM in the world.

Our muppetry was spot on.

Absolutely. He's my favorite player, by far! Such a joy to watch him play, from those subtle touches to the more eye catching defense splitting passes

Not really sure about

Hope this is just speculation from PhysioRoom then. :nervous:

I agree. Pogba has been very good but people's opinion crowded by the media who always judge him based on his transfer fee. I always enjoy watching him play even his youthful exhuberance. If our attack had been more expansive and clinical enough, Pogba would be in double figures in assists right about now as he'd also have more bodies to aim for. That magical pass Vs anderlecht would never have been made with Ibra on the pitch....not that it's Ibra's fault either.

I think he has been playing like this pretty much all season more or less.

Any updates on his injury yet? I'm starting to think he's out for Thursday.
Even if he's indeed left out I don't think for tactical reason, Mourinho wouldn't want to let it public so City can better prepare for the game. Even an disadvantage can be turned as surprise advantage with secrecy.

Think this is what it is. If he genuinely was injured, it'd have been announced or at least leaked by now. Think it's just Jose getting City to guess.

I think Pogba has had a very nice season. He's very important to us and often unlocks the defense with his world class skill and his physical will. He's lacked a killer finishing instinct that I believe will come in time but I don't expect him to score goals at a huge rate over his career. That's not why he's here. The thing I most hope is that his attacking passes will find just a little more touch. He always looks to pick out that hard killer thru pass or lob... and I'm hoping that over time, playing with a group of players, his passing touch will also become world class.

His long balls are already some of the best in the league.

The main knock that I have on his game (mostly early in the season) is that he seemed to be pressing and he took far too many shots from long range. Not only was it a turnover as the ball sails 15 feet over the crossbar but it also robbed us of other opportunities as we had possession of the ball near the box. Later in the season he's tried fewer of these and more often the ones he has struck have been with power and forced a save.

We didn't buy him because he was the best player in the world today. We bought him for what he's going to mean to our club over the next 5 years. I believe he will be one of the world's best midfielders for years to come.... but he's not quite there yet... Close, but not there...

I'm so glad he's wearing Red.

Annoying he's out, but I'd rather he's completely fresh and ready for the EL.

Right in the middle of the second half, Jose should have taken Pogba off. Of course he knows better than me, but I struggled to understand it.

If it's only one game maybe this is the one to miss. He could do with a mini break and I'd rather have him for the games we absolutely should/need to win. A draw with City would be fine.

Shame. Played very well against Burnley.

Would rather he played all three (potential) games in the EL though over the PL.
