Just seen the news on BBCs website. Personally I think it's brilliant, gives him a rest for the next 5 international breaks.

A fecking farce.

If I were Evra I'd ring around and organise a mass (and temporary) retirement until the French FA pull their fingers out of their arses.

I feel sorry for Blanc as well, he has been sabotaged.

That'll work out well. I can just imagine the discussion:

"Right lads, that world cup was disastrous. It was embarassing how early we went out. What are we gonna do it?"
"Well, we could ban the best left back in the world from playing for 5 matches?"
"You mean our captain?"
"Yes."
"You mean one of our key players?"
"Yes."
"Great idea, that'll be a feck load of use. We'll be much better off for that."

Spackers. Bizarre scapegoating.

Yay! Rest for Evra in both september and october. That rest he never got last year and that was probably why he wasn't in the best form at the end of season.

Well done FFF - I love you guys. No need for him to go anywhere for the next 5 intl. games - if he really cares about playing for that lot then maybe it will also fuel his anger and channel it to further United success.

Feel bad though that he has been singled out over the rest. Unfortunately it will be a stigma that everyone except us United fans that will associate with him. For that I hope the FFF drops down a manhole on some rusty spikes.

So I assume "4 match ban for Evra" will be replaced by "5 match Ban for Evra" as the standard Caf joke?

He had it coming for acting like such a spoilt little brat when he was supposed to be captaining his team at the World Cup.

Yeah a captain voicing the entire teams decision ... what a bratty thing to do.

As if fighting with one of the coaches wasn't bad enough, it is said he was the ring leader in organising the training boycott. That's simply unacceptable. The French team were an absolute shambles during the World Cup - or as Drogba would say, a fecking disgrace - they acted like a bunch of babies and Evra is partly to blame for that. However much of a spastic Domenech was, you can't have your captain undermining authority like he did.

Had it been Terry who acted in such a way in protest of Capello and England had gone out in the group stage, there's no way in hell you would be defending him.

So how long is that? In the French International matches calender?

Seems he misses 4 games and 1 friendly ... against England.

"it is said he was the ring leader"

Well I choose to believe Paddy when he says the Malcolm X wannabe and the rest that said he was the ring leader don't know what happened and should shut their mouths unless they do.

Not saying what they did was right but, to single out a few players is a sham. Evra speaking as the captain on behalf of all the players tells me that he isn't some cry baby - he did what he thought was right.

As much as the captain shouldn't undermine the coach - the coach shouldn't undermine by sending a player home in the midst of the world cup - bench him and sort things afterwards in terms of bans etc.

Thanks for that and which is the 1st possible game af6ter that?

I am sure SAF must be quietly delighted to hear of this news!

When do the French FA suspend themselves?

If I was Evra, I'd be done with international football.

He should retire for international football... the french will booo him when he gets back anyway...

It's amazing that with the number of times he manages to find himself in a good position, he still can't make decent crosses.I noticed one good driven cross but the rest was the usual stuff.
With a little improvement there he could be such a threat because everything prior to crossing is spot on

Amen.. So no international football for him till November is it?

I love the guy, I really do. But he's having a very average season atm, had a shocker with the second goal today.

Yeah he looked a bit tired in defense but was still a good attacking outlet. Has been playing a lot of football lately and I think his suffering from that ankle knock. A rest wouldn't hurt him.

He's been below par for a while now. Its a strange one because we know how good he can be.
Defensively he's been crap - probably why they moved him to the wing for a few games.

You see the thing is, is that he's well below his best yet he's still comfortably better than most left backs, which speaks volumes. The only half decent reason I can see why his form has dropped is due to a lack of rest, but I think sometimes we just have to accept that players will have poor seasons during their career, it really is that simple. Ryan Giggs has had a few shockers, namely 07/08 being the most recent as has Scholes, it happens to everybody. Evra is a victim of the supremely high standards he has set over the years and it would be foolish to think he could continue to play that way forever.

Gossip column on BBC says evra is gonna join Madrid in summer ... Apparently in the news of the world .... Which means it must be true:rolleyes:

Practically everyone in the PL who went to the world cup has come back with a hangover.
