Quality cross for the goal. If only he could do that more often.

To be fair he's probably the best attacking left-back in the world; his link up play in the final third is always sublime.

Yup but the final ball nearly always lets him down. His only flaw really.

I'd rather have him at left back than anybody else the world.

Now THAT, Senor Perez, is why your spunkstain of football club will never get Paddy...Legend.

He's learning Korean so he can talk with his friend Park? That's just incredibly sweet.

Why doesn't this man have a song yet? Great player and a future legend.

What a shame that cloning can't also include personality. I'd even allow every other club to also have a copy because, in the end, one of the things that almost all football fans want from the players who pull on the shirt is for them to respect it. I'm sure that most do, and it's possible to show it without using words, but one of the things that has largely been lost in the modern era is the relationship between the fans and players, either because of poor player behavior which has lead to mistrust, or because there is so little worthwhile access to them, anymore.

It's amazing how much good will you can create simply by acknowledging that it isn't all about you.

Interesting bit about the FA Cup final. Fergie is a brilliant manager no doubt. We all were thinking what in the world is he buying two defenders for, when we were strong there. Evra and Vidic were brilliant buys.

Comments on Thuram:

"He sullied my name without knowing what happened. Lilian thinks he's the new coach, president of the FFF and president of France.

"He said that Les Bleus are contributing to increasing racism. It is time that Lilian stops playing a role that isn't his to play."

"Walking around with books on slavery in glasses and a hat does not turn you into Malcolm X."

(omfg )

That was a fantastic article, from a fantastic man. The way he has intergrated into United will surely cement in the folklore here.

I'll buy and read that book when he releases it.

Patrice Evra insists he never intended for France's World Cup campaign to descend into farce.

Les Bleus endured a nightmare time in South Africa this summer, with events conspiring against them at every turn.

Performances on the field proved to be a major disappointment, while goings on off the pitch became increasingly shambolic.

The decision to send Nicolas Anelka home following a dispute with coach Raymond Domenech lit the touch paper, leading to a player strike and various reports of in-squad disharmony.

Evra, as national skipper, bore the brunt of the criticism, but the Manchester United full-back claims he did his best to keep the calm.

"I gave me all to the position of captain," he told L'Equipe.

"Some people have tried to make me look guiltier than I am without knowing what happened. I gave my best, but this is the result.

"I received complaints after every training session and I tried to pass those messages on to the coaching assistants, but nothing happened."

Evra has also hit back at former France star Lilian Thuram, who is now a French Football Federation official, for singling him out for criticism and suggesting he should be banded from international football indefinitely.

"Thuram? He has smeared my name without trying to know what he is talking about," added Evra.

"Lilian believes he is the coach, federation chairman and president of France.

"It is time Lilian stopped playing a role which is not his, like saying Les Bleus have made racism more prevalent.

"It is not enough to walk around holding books about slavery, wear glasses and a hat and believe you are Malcom X."

 Evra!

Running looked sharper than ever today. Resting for the past 6-7 weeks seems to have done him some good. Hopefully Fabio or O'Shea can cover from time to time, he played too many games last season. With Nani looking like such an improved player, the Evra/Nani combination down the left will be deadly if they're both on their game.

Granted they'll play against tougher defenses than Newcastle's, but still.

you could tell he is still getting back into the swing of things at a couple of points in today's game, but for having not played in such a long time, he looked remarkably sharp.

The french FA can't ban him from playing for United can they?

So feck 'em.

You could go with 'Rio' to be on the safe side. And he actually is a cock, who doesn't play much, so it would be fitting too.

So Pogue you're saying your cock is injured, was recently in a crash, and is also in danger of wasting its talent by getting fat?
