Gaming Overwatch

There's exclusive rewards for finishing the 10 ranked placement games. I believe you'll get a season 1 spray. ranked is quite fun as people tend to take it more seriously than quickplay and with the 1 hero limit you won't end up fighting 5 dvas and 1 lucio on hanamura cheese :)

I am at 24 so will get there pretty soon. Quickplay is very inconsistent, I found myself playing in one of the best teams today, everyone knew exactly what they were doing and it was such fun.

I am switching between Pharah, Tracer and Winston these days, sporadically I'll use Roadhog or Junkrat.

Solo queue on consoles is cancer. No one uses voice chat and the matchmaking is all over the place with high ranking players doing everything they can to manipulate the system. Lost count of the amount of games I've lost against a team full people in the 70s and one or two in the 40s to balance out their team average so they're matched against weaker teams.

I've heard different stories about ranked, differs a lot what rank you are. 45-50 is supposed to be the worst place to be at. That's on PC though. Are most people here playing on consoles?

I hover around 58-60.

It's adorable how in Assault there's less than a minute to attack and morons will rather chase you all over the map to get the kill than reach the target.

From reddit:

  • Rank System Changed to 1-5000, Split up between Bronze-Silver-Gold and upwards, sort of like Starcraft.

  • Full list of Rank categories as stated by many in this thread: Bronze<Silver<Gold<Platinum<Diamond<Master<Grand Master

  • Sudden Death gone, Time bank added to Hybrid and Payload maps.

  • Time bank slightly changed to make for more chances of a comeback/fair for a team that is winning hard.

  • Tightening Group Average Levels to 500 (out of 5000) in Competetive PTR

  • After Diamond and up, you will lose 50 Ranks per day if you havent played for an entire week. This effect stops when you reach the bottom of Diamond however.

  • Competetive Points multiplied by 10, You will be rewarded 5 Points for a tie. (Golden gun costs upped by the same amount.)

  • More strict rules for Top 500.

Came to post here what @Runner just posted. Seems that a new hero is on his/her way as well as the hints around the game are getting more and more clear. Sombra is the name, and given that it means 'shadow' in Spanish and Portuguese iirc we may as well get some stealth class.

Fecking boring making us wait so long. Quick play is a mess.

A pleasant surprise they opened season 2 just before labor day weekend. Maybe they'll drop Sombra on the PTR on the 6th.

They nerfed Genji but then buffed Hanzo to an absurd degree. He can miss shots by miles and they still register as hits. It ridiculous.

The Genji stuff was annoying but being killed by someone who is missing their shots is just stupid.

How did everyone's placements go? Got 2694 on PS4. Most of the games were pretty well matched apart from a couple where we were up against people who placed in the 70s in season one.

Won 5 out of my first 6. Had some really good team mates, then the idiots struck... Lost 3 of the next 4. Finished on 2792.

New patch with the halloween event should be released today.

Just grabbed this from GAME while it's on sale. It's really good. I don't normally like FPS games but I love anything made by Blizzard so took the chance.

So far having a lot of success playing as D.Va. Going to play around with other classes later.

My only gripe is the time it takes to be placed in a match.

Love this game and the best FPS released in years but the stupidity of some of the players is beyond infuriating. You almost know a game is lost during the hero selection phase when some idiot picks Widowmaker...

Yep. I've been playing it regularly since release but there's times it will make you question humanity. Biggest advice I would give is to make friends and try and play in a group as much as possible.

It's free to play this weekend.

Haven't played it before, and am not big on fps games any more, but I have to say it's really fun and addictive. I'm pretty shit at it, but I'm having fun anyways.

Love the fact that you can play a character that doesn't rely so much on twitchy aiming like Reinhardt or support and still do well. Also love that that it doesn't focus so much on K/D.

Will probably buy it.

Yeah I really like it too.

Wish I bought it when it was £25

Another game I might pick up on black friday.

How do you find it? I'm still on the fence.
It was avaliable to play for free over the weekend on PS4. I downloaded it and played 5 hours over the two days.

Thought it was really good. I don't usually play FPS but really like this. The games being 15 mins means you can just jump into it for a quick match whenever you have some spare time. Kinda like how I used to play rocket league

Plus I read Blizzard support their games with free Dlc (maps and new characters) for years so for £30 its a good deal imo
