Ole's press conference vs City

"With all the technology now you expect him to be out for four or five weeks with the scans with the pictures we've seen of him. It's a blow for us. Raphael has come in and been really really influential. Eric came in last time and was excellent. That's why we have a big squad and cope with absentees."

That's why you play a half fit Maguire and rush back Varane
Got to laugh about the comment on Eric, who he refused to use against Leicester.

"What do you think about general play"?
"Why did you bought Sancho"?
"Does playing 352 means thst you played wrong system 3 years?"
"Maguire's form"?
"Martial status?"
"Donny status?"

Why journos on press conferences speak with managers this nicely? Not just with us, in all clubs. Ask tough questions ffs

"we have to work hard and suffer a lot but we have to believe, trust ourselves because we're at home and have had a couple of good few results." What the feck? Suffer? It's like we're the minnows playing a giant. We're feckin United. And a few good results? Lately? Really?

Suffer as in we'll be sitting deep, chasing the ball but without making any tackles and watching them pass rings round us. Woohoo.

Scared of being banned I guess.

Because by not asking the difficult questions they both keep their jobs. It's a reciprocating relationship, the same way reporters and politicians work together.

I think the flaw is in the lack of adequate tactical nous and coaching from Ole and his mates, not in our attitude.

For me our often lackadaisical starts suggest players whose self-belief negatively impacts their motivation to perform at their best.

Ole’s gonna get all our CBs injured trying to save his job. In a few weeks he’ll be asking a half injured Phil Jones to play.

Got to laugh about the comment on Eric, who he refused to use against Leicester.
Exactly, he talks about nonsense. Bigs up having a big squad then over uses the same players again and again, half fit, injured, re-injured. Doesnt matter to Ole.

We tried to go toe to toe with Liverpool and the players got found out, big time. It would be madness to did that again, against City

City's weakness under Pep has always been counter attacks. Sitting back and hitting them on the break the best approach.

Of course the Manager is going to big up the response since the Liverpool game, he has to try and repair the players' confidence and make sure they feel good going into the City game.

What else would you expect him to say really? Press conferences the land over are 99% heavily media trained people regurgitating banalities and cliches that somehow give some in here aneurysms and stoke bizarre conspiracy theories about all of the nation's press being in the idea of taking it easy on Ole for a laugh.
I dont expect anything anymore. We hope to god that's his last press conference and they pull the trigger over the international break. The fact he still sat there smiling and thinking that this is acceptable shows how far we have dropped. As someone said this week we have become Arsenal.

Don't think there would've been any harm in him admitting something like there's still a lot of making up to do for the Liverpool result and beating City would be a good start. Trying to pass it off as a rare blip... I mean clearly no one's buying it.

What do most of you expect from a press conference, a fly on the wall documentary.

Get a grip he’s here for the season hopefully.

Isn't Jones fully fit now? I remember Ole saying in his presser against Atalanta that he had a fully fit squad of 30. Or maybe I misheard.

Moved on from Liverpool defeat and we have had a good week?

How come I have completely different feeling? Are we talking about the same Man Utd?

Result's matter not performances in these situations'. Wasa great week for Ole

Isn't Jones fully fit now?

Those words do match the square peg or the round hole

Moan moan moan, Ole this, Ole that, moan moan moan.

Can you ever remember a press conference pretty much anywhere that wasn't just standard bullshit and waffle?

Jesus, some of you lot are going to have aneurysms if you carry on getting angry and shit like this.

Weird why people are angry indeed, the team has been banging it on winning the league and challenging for CL every year under Ole, not to forget we have been destroying our rivals regularly in every big game. The team is in great form and shape, so no reason for the fans to moan.

Hopefully he's sacked before the game starts.

And I expect some actual awareness and reflection on the state of our team and the league, not more lies.

Seems like most have accepted we're the new Arsenal/Liverpool and are happy to have the club stay as a laughing stock as long as this ex-player who scored a few goals now gets to develop his pathetic coaching skills in one of the biggest football institutions in the world.

The notion that solskjaer always gets the better of guardiola is such BS seeing as we've only won 1 more than them

Aye, and the two best players to come out of the academy in two decades are regular starters, while Ole is giving meaningful gametime to his recent signings he's spent a combined 180m on.

Yes, hopefully. He's clearly on the right path. He just needs another 3 years and another 300m to mount a title challenge.

Gawd, our fanbase is so entitled.

He also unearthed some hidden gems no one has ever thought of signing before like Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane yet Ole discovered them and now reaping the benefits.

They clearly came here because they were looking forward to working with Ole, despite the club's small stature and limited funds.

He sees the players every day at Carrington so clearly Rashford, Greenwood, Sancho, VDB etc are shite and unmotivated in training.

I mean Sancho 12 apps, 0 goals and assists. It's on him he hasn't taken his chance. Ole was fooled by the youtube highlights and stats like the rest of us. Happens.

Clearly not Ole's signing, but the club's. They had to meet their overrated English player quota and Sancho was bought with the idea of Pogba leaving, but that didn't happen. Unlucky.

Again the focus is on the Liverpool result and not that and the half a dozen other shite performances before it and now again at Atalanta.

These questions at the presser are getting worse by the day. How much protection is Ole getting? It seems as if the questions are screened to a level where they ask the same questions every week?

Injuries, What does it feel like to have Ronaldo.

Nothing to do with poor performances
Nothing to do with subs
Nothing to ask about Sancho

Pathetic journalism this

What? :wenger:

Are you actually complaining that the media are not being assh*les when it comes to the manager you support? Maybe they don’t share your opinion, thought about that?
Ridiculous.

When the media hate on United, they're ABUs.

But when they don't hate on United, they're ABUs.

Ole obviously cleared up the Liverpool fiasco by saying McT scoring the winner against City should make us forget about it. Don't know about you but.....

Why????

So we can replace him with the next manager who will be in the same position in 2 years and you can wish him out of the door??

Because he is clearly not a good enough manager and we need better...if the next guy spends a fortune, wins us bugger all and also doesn't seem to have much of a clue then yes I will indeed want that guy out the door also. However it is time for the club to pick a manager who is proven and skilled enough for the role. Not easy I know but that certainly doesn't mean you should just stick with mediocrity.

Obviously you can want what you want for the good of the club and I can do the same.

His only desire is to continue to be paid massive amounts of money and he will say anything to make sure the board has an excuse to keep him
Did ole shag your girlfriend or wife by any chance?? The hate you spew at everything ole says however innocuous the comment is points to a deep rooted dislike ofbthe man himself. So much negativity isn’t good my friend.

Ah, yes. Time for the club to pick a manager who is proven and skilled enough for the job.

That’s gone well in the past 8/9 years, hasn’t it.

Very trustworthy our board and owners in that respect.

Unfortunately, we have missed the boat with getting rid of Ole this side of 2022 now.

Such a tired argument. LVG, Mourinho and Moyes were not managers anywhere near the top of their game when they arrived at United and none of them completed their desired squads before their departures. Even so though two of them still managed to win more silverware than our current one in less time in the job.

His comments about Lindelof is just going to fuel the fire that he rushes player back from injury.

If the board was afraid to bring in Conte, the tea leaves are easy to read. Ole will finish the season, or until it is obvious top 4 is gone and then they sack him with an interim manager until the manager they are after becomes available. I think some people are going to have a very long season expecting Ole to be sacked every week.
