When the old boys stop saying to give him time and say he's had his chance
2 games. And they'll show whether things are as bad as they looked today or whether the squad can rebound. If you don’t mind me asking, why? We have three years of results to view, what could that one game show?
After the Liverpool game. If we concede 3 or more he's done.
Regardless of what happens in that match, what new information would that match bring? In all honesty, what can happen in that match to make us know a bit more about Ole’s managerial capabilities that we do not know now (or for many, that we didn’t know 2 years ago)?Me. I think we should reassess after Liverpool.
This is beginning to look like his cardiff exit. He might not survive the week
If anything, it means the club isn't afraid of keeping a manager just because he has years on his contract. The problem is, he just signed a 3 year deal.
We always seem to splash out these extensions just before they fall off a cliff. Did it with Mourinho too.
I don't necessarily disagree, that it would be a good move to save some face and restore a little bit of his reputation with the fans.
I don't think it will happen though. First of all, he is probably still thinking he can turn it around and is going to fight until he gets the sack. Second, even if he is already set for life, it would be madness to effectively say no to £10-20m or whatever the amount is. I mean, has there ever been anyone whose time has clearly been up, who has gone voluntarily? I can't come up with any examples, but I might be wrong.
Don‘t say I didn’t warn you if it happens…I’ve lost all hope with this club I really have.I don't think that would happen. The players would be alienated even further. But an experienced interim manager would make sense to buy us time to secure the right fit going forward and allow us to make a quick decision now to salvage the season.
In what way we are better than when Mourinho left? A broken team, shitter performances than there, and probably not much more points (on average). With far less success (Europa and League cup vs nothing), far less points on their second full season when both finished second.
We have a better squad though, but that is what 420m do for you.
I would assume so, he is an internal promotion after all.
I said this before the break.Looking at our upcoming fixtures after the international break and our current form imo Ole is even more likely to be sacked than Bruce. Probably the biggest candidate.
It depends. We get a 6-2 from Liverpool ala spurs last season. Now way he survives that. Mourinho on a similar run did not survive a bad Liverpool defeat.....thus says the Chief. But sadly, I think it will drag on a bit longer. Liverpool, Spurs, and City games will be grim.
Do say I didn’t warn you if it happens…I’ve lost all hope with this club I really have.
Squad wise we are in a much better position than under the previous manager. Looking at that team we basically need two decent CM. I still believe Donny could be one of them if given a chance. I also think we need a better RB going forward.
The fact we have such a strong squad is the reason why fans have already lost patience this season. We have not dominated any team so far. Maybe Leeds who have been awful themselves. The poor set up is down the manager. Our coaching staff lack any experience at the top level bar Phelan. I can’t understand how a club the size of United have allowed a bunch of unqualified staff to manage the team.
You can't be accused of being reactionary either. We've been absolutely awful all season, even in the games we've drawn or won. Wolves, Villarreal, and Everton will all feel hard done by to not beat us easily based on the balance of the games we've played. And with the squad available there's no excuse and no hiding anymore.Sack him now. Bring in Zidane.
Answered above. It's not his capabilities I think we'll find out about. It's whether the players are able to bounce back under him. If they are able to then I think getting rid at a crucial time is the riskier option, so would be inclined to stick with him. If they aren't able to then we've nothing to lose and are better off saying our goodbyes.Regardless of what happens in that match, what new information would that match bring? In all honesty, what can happen in that match to make us know a bit more about Ole’s managerial capabilities that we do not know now (or for many, that we didn’t know 2 years ago)?
