The holiday is annoying me. The club is in crisis and if he's staying he should be at the training ground studying Watford backwards, forwards and inside out for the next two weeks. Instead he swans off for a week. Absurd.

It’s absolutely crazy isn’t it. Biggest crisis of his career. He’s hanging by his bollocks to keep his job. Fans and pundits are turning against him and he fecks off to Norway for a holiday. You couldn’t make it up.

I'm not too fussed about the holiday :nervous: .

Not like he needs to be here to work with the players since they have been given time off. A lot of other work can be done remotely and some time off to clear his head/consider his future might do everyone some good. I don't think him not working hard enough is the issue anyway and I can't see him being stupid enough to do it if he felt it would effect the work.

And there's always the glimmer of hope that he decided not to be in the country when the sacking was announced.

We've got 4 points in 6, what the feck?
Pretty amazing PR from the club only focusing on Liverpool and now Man City.

Focus on one problem, rather than a wider, much more bothersome issue. It’s fantastic. Job well done.

People need to give up on this now, at least for another two weeks. He isn’t going anywhere.

It’s depressing.

I don't get how he's still here. Even by our standards. It's clear as feck he doesn't have a clue or that we're not just in a bad spell. There's nothing resembling any structure in our games, just hoping that somebody will pop up with a goal while we're leaking in aplenty. Or that we've got an extremely young side.

The only explanation I've got is that the players themselves are pushing hard for him to stay.

I think the problem is finding an available alternative, who would be willing to take over mid-season.

Posted on it numerous times today and I still can’t fathom it. He has some pair of bollocks on him to go on holiday in the current circumstances, I’ll give him that. You’d nearly have to admire the brass neck on show.

The board probably only saw the scoreline of 2-0 and believed Ole made some progress compared to the 5-0. 3 less goals is what convinced them.

At this stage, from being a man-manager extraordinaire, I wonder how many of the players actually feel super loyal to him? My best guess is really only Maguire, Shaw, Scotty T, and Fred (possibly Rashford too). DDG, Ronnie, Varane and Bruno are probably horrified at the standard of coaching. Pogba is on his bike anyway. Lindelof, Bailly, Henderson, Lingard, Matic, Mata, VDB, Sancho, Diallo, Dalot, Telles, Martial, Greenwood, and Cavani have all - to a greater or lesser extent - been left in the cold. AWB knows he's likely to be upgraded anyway if Ole stays. Just my gut feeling, obvs, but I reckon that regardless of results quite a large portion of the squad are probably fairly unhappy.

3 away games on the bounce probably influencing things as well. Not like there's going to be mass walkouts or any audible booing however the games go.

If the club aren't going to make a change in this, the final international break of the year, then I don't see them doing it in a few weeks, or another month, or whenever. As incompetently as the club is run then I think they'd at least recognise the benefit of making the change whilst the Premier League is on hold.

I'm more convinced than ever that nothing is going to change - all-round, unfortunately.

Man, seriously. He is a human being. He might be mentally tired. Might need to recharge his batteries. Give him a break. Sometimes when you are in the thick of things, you should step away. You might come back refreshed.

But they still have faith in Ole. No wonder Ronaldo a born winner looks so vexed and bewildered with it all. If it wasn't for him saving our asses this season it's frightening to think how bad we'd be.

Or he knows something we don’t.
I’m hoping.

You still don't leave the country and make a very public spectacle about it waving to cameras.

The club is in crisis mode. You want to step back? Take a day and go golfing.

Maybe he has gone back to Norway to ask for his old job at Molde? I don't think even Molde would have him back to be honest.

Shades of moyes’s ill-advised holidays before taking on the job. Both needed to be working extra hard, both chose to do something else

He's gone back home to visit family for a couple of days. To me it sounds like upper management have told everyone not on international duty to get away for a few days.

Ole has gone home to spend time with family. Moyes went off on a late summer holiday. Bit of a difference.

If it's just a few days, it's more understandable. I thought it was said they're getting the week off.

It's still horrible optics for a club in crisis. Like surely everyone understands why this looks bad right? It's like he started a fire and went to the bar while the firefighters try to put it out, except he gave the firefighters a week off too

That's a ridiculous take on the situation. We are far less likely to make top 4 with Ole at the wheel than any other competent manager, even if we can't get Zidane or anyone tied up at a top tier club, the list of better managers available is practically endless at this stage.

You've gotten confused mate. This isn't what I think the board should do, it's what I think they have done. Ole would have been sacked after the Liverpool game if I had my way, but I'm just a football fan like you.

I think the board have weighed up the pros and cons of both options and reached a conclusion based on which is the most cost-effective solution. Which is sad as feck.

This is probably where they're at. In his 3 starts to the season as manager we've got to 11 games with 16-20-17 points, so this isn't even his worst. The previous 2 occasions we've still made it into the CL.
We can all see the performances have been bad though and we never look like doing anything other than the bare minimum, but that's really nothing new under Ole.

Yeah, basically.

We're fecked as long as these parasites run our club. It's all about the money for them.

Well by their total indecision over getting rid of Ole the club has decided this season doesn't matter.

If that's the case then all fans should adopt the same approach.

Bombard the clubs social media accounts and those of their sponsors with messages about Glazers out and Ole out.

Make sure not a penny is spent inside Old Trafford and deny them any further match day revenue over and above the tickets people have already paid for.

Don't buy any further merchandise or shirts and let Adidas know you won't be buying any of their products while they support the current Glazer regime.

2 home matches with no revenue and they would be in real trouble and maybe change their mind.

As long as he's in the job, which is the plan until it isn't, then this was the only timeperiod he would be able to visit family back home until maybe the summer. No seeing family for Christmas like most of us are used to.
(There are some international breaks next year as well, but potentially a more busy schedule and more important games to prepare for.)

So when world leaders are trying to save the planet, a little troll decides to take an undeserved holiday on a private plane? :nono:
Politician are you? So when the merkelism trying to Get enough energy they seek gas which is not a fossil fuel :boring: This is a Ole sackwatch thread

United are doubling down on Ole. Not even spoke to another manager. I called it after the Liverpool loss. They never had any intention. They simply don't care where he takes us, as long as it's Ole then they're happy.

We epitomize mediocrity and love it, seemingly.

Look at the times. All their first seasons. Those are sensible opinions. Solksjaers been here three years, won feck all and looks absolutely clueless. No way would Neville defend anyone other than a friend at this point.

Yes, that might do him and the club a lot of good. He is going there with an approval of the club. Whatever crises the club is under, you should still get time to do what you like in terms of mental health.

If you want to travel to your home town, you should be able to. He must be under tremendous pressure everywhere he turns in the UK.
Bring away from the UK media should be better for him.

I was hopeful today was going to be big sack day today :(
This is the problem with hiring seemingly the only and hence greatest legend this club has ever seen - he's bloody unsackable. SAF and co have convinced everyone that he's bringing United back and nobody is looking at the actual football. We deserve to become the meme club we are today. And that status seems to be here to stay for a good while.

Shocking that we haven't sacked him yet...how much time are we going to waste on this, and more importantly how many points.

It's a shame that DDG had such a good game v City as if we had lost by 3 or 4, he surely would have been gone.
