If Ole is indeed leaving, I would be over the moon. Enough is enough. He will get his millions while having wasted many many times more. Imagine being totally out of your depth, leaving your team full of stars in crisis, hundreds of millions of fans disappointed, just to see extra several millions on your bank account. It is a fooking lottery win. He may even get a job at another half a decent club, which would have never happened if the club have not offered him a permanent deal. I pity the fans at OT who attended Pool and City games, I feel sorry for some of the players who are trying to give their best and spending their short careers under an incompetent manager.

Don't hold your breath, these journos are making up nonsense

" United no closer to sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer " but then " Man Utd are considering parting ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer"

What is next then? Does one of our players have to be caught on camera raising his hand on Ole (like Mario Balotelli on Roberto Mancini) to show everyone how toxic the training ground has become with the way coaches are dealing with players?

I'm sorry, he has to be done. There's no way our club and Ole will go on holiday when there's a full blown crisis going on   .

He's gone, expect the announcement soon lads.

Have you watched our clubs conduct in the last few years?

They wouldn't brief the media that they were backing him if they were on the verge of sacking him. He will be gone within the next month or so though.

You fully underestimate how entrenched his position is to the board. They've bet their careers on him. They won't remove him unless the owners straight up force them to because their futures rely on Ole at least making it to the end of the season. Fletchy probably went up to him this mornings and was like "Listen Ollie, take your family home for a few days and let it blow over".

Erm, to be fair there are internationals going on and a large number of the first team aren't available for training with the club so this is a good time for mini-breaks.

I've been pessimistic the whole time, I've thought we're stuck with him the whole season but the whole holiday thing makes no sense. You don't go on holiday when your house is on fire and your employees certainly don't let you go on holiday when your house is on fire.

I mean tbf when your house is on fire it’s probably the ideal time to go on holiday really if you want a roof over your head.

Maybe an exaggeration but their position on the board would have to be in question by the Glazers if they've constantly backed this manager despite poor results with massive investment. Surely the Glazers have to get annoyed with how shitty the decision making process is going year after year even with how nepotistic they are. There's also some relatively new people around the decision making process that don't have as strong of a connection to the Glazers who would probably be shifted out immediately if this fails. Fletcher was brought in by Ole, immediately promoted to the board (or at least in a position with supposed influence) so I could see him being removed when this fails. Ed's already resigned (technically) so if Ole is gone, his last act looks horrendous. Basically there's a lot riding on Ole magically becoming competent.

I agree with everything he says. The only risk now, is what is said about getting the fans back enjoying the games and looking forward to watching their team is rapidly being undone.

He's absolutely right, Ole did well settling everything down again but as I've said for a while, it's time for the next stage, a manager who can take us trophies, which with this squad can happen with the right manager.
Why does it take Ferdy to show the club how to spin the story of moving Ole on in a positive way. This is a narrative that could have been told at the start of the season or in the aftermath of the Liverpool defeat.

There is still a lot of warmth out their towards Ole the man. It's Ole the manager that needs to move on.

This approach of "handing over the baton" could have worked 10 days ago. If they carry on trying to hold out they will just build unnecessary animosity.

That Rio video...

Ole is actually going isn't he. Given how Rio has defended him after every game and now this...he knows something. He's setting the narrative for the sentiment when the news hits. The club have sent Ole away to avoid the fallout.

Tell me I'm talking rubbish!

Earlier in the season Ole lambasted Rio for talking shit about Jones being in the club. It wasnt until later that Rio learned the extent of Jones' injuries. Wth that in mind its questionable how much Rio actually knows about anything that goes on in the club, although I'm certain he talks to the players.

In reality I don't think that anything will happen now. The time to sack him was immediately following, or the day after the Manchester City game. It's entirely possible that the club is looking at interim options and sounding out Ten Hag. The club knows that this can't keep going on, but they may also be vary of the fact that we've had this type of season opener twice now, and every year the team has turned a massive corner and strung together long winning streaks out of nothing. Its especially bleak now because of the manner of defeat v Liverpool and Manchester City.

Its obvious that we're (bar an actual divine intervention) prolonging the inevitable.

Such a shame we could not have had more use of Varane, what a difference he would have made to the season.

In the board's eyes there's no crisis. We defeated Spurs and top of CL group. Getting embarrassed by City was expected I guess, and he dodged a big defeat. All is forgiven.

Oh my god...I'm starting to feel sad at the thought of him going ffs. Even though I want him to go. I think it might be happening.

Me too. He needs to go but it’s really shite the way it’s playing out.

It's incredibly unlikely he's been sacked this morning, been publicly pictured leaving the country because he's been sacked, and they've not announced it and no one in the media has got wind that he's gone.

Having said that, a manager being allowed to go on holiday mid-season seems very odd, even if there is an international break.

I don't think he's been sacked yet, I think they've let him go on holiday so they can decide on who to take over then sack him while he's in Norway. iirc they did the same to LVG.

Edit:

Also I don't believe for one second those reports of 'backing the manager' they did it with every one of our previous managers, only to sack them within a week of the 'backing'.
It wouldn't surprise me if they release these briefs to increase social media activity or some rubbish. Everyone and everything on twitter over the last 2 days has been about #Ole and #MUFC.

If I was a betting man I'd put everything on him surviving till Watford. You are forgetting this is the worst run club in the world.

No they didn't. Woodward told LVG face to face that he's sacked 48 hours after the Fa Cup final.

So better to sack him after they beat us and we're off 12+ points from the top before December than now when they've got 2 weeks to plan a transition and there's still room to salvage the season, makes perfect sense.

Would expect nothing less from this club

I hope you're right, but I think the useless board just told him to take a few days off to gather his thoughts.

I'd be skeptical of that. We're not the classiest club but I'd think they'd have the decency to let him know in person that he's gone, rather than pretending he's safe and letting him go away with his family to sack him over a phone call.

I could be wrong. The whole situation makes no sense either way.

Wouldn't read anything into this "holiday". He's just gone back to Norway. He did the same in the September and October international break.

Na he will definitely be in charge of Watford, maybe if he looses that he would go, but I suspect it would take bad results against Watford and Villarreal for something to happen

The players and staff have a few days off to recouperate. God knows they need it after the shitstorm the past 3 weeks

Maybe I am wrong and more hopeful, but it makes sense to go on holiday in September or October, but right now ? are the owners not aware that they've had to release briefs of 'we stand by Ole' everyday for the last 2 weeks then let him go on holiday.

He's probably gone to Norway for a few days, tops. He and the rest of the squad, not on internationals, will all be away for a few days. His break will have been in place for a long time. We really have reached the point where folk just want to believe anything that suits their narrative that he will be sacked. But the start reality, is he will more than likely be in charge for the Watford game where 3 points paints a positive picture to those that don't watch United and only care about top 4 (Management).

I want him and the coaching staff replaced yesterday, but I've given up caring when as it could be other side of Christmas given the results this side can and will get to keep him in the job.

And Rio knows nothing, otherwise the Phil Jones affair wouldn't have happened.

Rio knows things he knew the Ronaldo thing, he has a good relationship with Woodward. His connections are at boardroom level rather than in the squad these days. I don’t think him saying something means anything is about to happen, BUT he’s the first high profile ex-teammate of Ole to call for him to leave.
