I think if Zidane wanted the job Ole would have been sacked after the Liverpool defeat, but it's clear he's not interested, meaning Rodgers is our only option if we want someone right now unless we are willing to take a big chance on Potter. If we want Ten Hag or Pochettino then we'll have to wait until the summer which means a caretaker is required and Ragnik seems keen but wants a position at the club afterwards and god knows we don't want a guy with a clue about football or club structure in a position of power at United.

Yeah appointing a guy who actually understands football and club structure is too smart for our yankee clowns

Especially Carrick. Really rated him as a player hit what the feck has he done to deserve a coaching role here?

I read an article back in the summer that said that the club saw him as a future manager here. feck knows why.

Think it's getting to the point where the owners have to be forced out of the club.

Is it about top 4 ? I question that now too. Its about top 4 if we miss out on it two season in a row. I think the club know one season out the top 4 isn't too bad for them, its when we start finishing outside top 4 regularly.

It is clear the club has 0 ambition, what happened to the fan forums and the like? That has gone completely cold too now.

From the Glazers, down to the coaching staff, incompetent personnel with 0 to nil experience.

Then they shouldn’t have brought in serial winners like Ronaldo and Varane that won’t want to spend their final years playing in the EL.

Whilst I’m not against people taking time off, it seems inappropriate timing to leave the country at this present moment. Surely he should be tearing his hair out figuring out what to do next with his coaching staff right? The job he’s getting paid millions for?

So, looks like all of us who were speculating about ETH being confirmed but just won’t come now, looks like the board did absolutely feck all planning in that 3 game span

Well if the rumours are right. They just are trying to find a replacement? United unprepared.. who would of thought.

So why not get his family ready for a return back home.

I'm pretty sure that there will be no noticeable difference, whether Ole is there or not. I have a suspicion that he doesn't do much coaching.

According to Rob Dawson at ESPN "sources have told ESPN that results in Europe this season are a key reason behind the club's decision to stick with Solskjaer in the face of significant unrest within the squad and among supporters."

But I imagine he's making that up, like the report that Ronaldo wanted the ball passed to him more quickly. Who could be happy with our performances in Europe?

Nothing is settled - a week is a long time in football

no one gave Burnley or West Ham a chance last weekend

In one game yes. It's pretty settled that these three will finish top 3, the majority thought it even before the season started, and it's even more obvious now.

They didn't want Ronaldo and Varane is a signing that got the fans off the Glazers back and it worked.

It was all Glazers out until the signings, then OT had a great atmosphere. Its the usual, give the fans a new shiny car, without a driver who can drive it.

Can already see it a few years down the road when Coach X having won another league title somewhere states how he was close to signing for United in summer 2021 only to be put off by the United management's insistence on retaining Carrick and McKenna and the bizarre slip from one board member, "We kinda see him taking over as the manager in 2024."

This is exactly how I feel about it.

Hopefully after recharging his batteries in Norway he can come back refreshed ready to challengeDavid Moyes West Ham for 4th spot.

He actually believes that we were 'close' or something. You can't deal with that when someone is as deluded as him.

They still think that it's just a bad run of form and not the results catching up with performances thing.

Is that legit? One of his most influential former players has given up if so. Keane said it fell on him and the coaches when he was pressed yesterday, Scholes gave up a while ago. Just G Nev now.

Jesus.

Imagine fecking off on holiday after presiding over the complete and utter shitshow that’s been the last 5-6 weeks and not bursting your arse to fix it the very first chance you get to draw breath and analyse things, i.e. the international break. At least give the impression you’re working hard to rectify things, ffs!

Incredible.

It really doesn't send the best message does it. I know most of the players won't be there but watch videos of past "performances " and analyse them, watch videos of upcoming opponents, look at data.

Surely if you cared that much like you say you'd bust your backside trying to put it right.

Ideally, he would already be having a nice long holiday.....

Ten Hag is mentioned by many as a possible new coach but heres a quiz for anyone. Name one dutch manager coming from Holland and does good in a club of size?
Cruyff, Rijkaard, Van Gaal. Although funnily enough they all won La Ligas with Barcelona. Before Arsene Wenger no French managers coming from the Japanese league had won the Prem, before Jose no managers had come straight from Portugal and won the league. Before Klopp no managers had managed in the Bundesliga and won a league. So what's really your point?

Hold the phone!

With what Rio has just come out with, I think its happening

I agree with Rio, Ole can walk away with his head held high if he leaves now, but only if he leaves now. The longer he remains, the more his status as a legend is under threat.

Nothing would make me happier than to see him leave of his own terms Gattuso style.

I agree with this on both counts.

Does Rio know something? He’s talking about hypotheticals for all we know but interesting he’s decided to post that now.

Or is it hopeful overanalysis?

Michels too.

I just don't see a defense in keeping him. We have some very very talented players and they might as well have been school kids the way Liverpool and City ran rings around them. It must make them feel embarrassed but without proper strategies it's not going to change. Our approach is just too naive.

Surely if they were going to sack him they would have done so before he went on holiday.

He didn't look like he had just been sacked in those photos and I can't believe they are going to let him take a holiday and then sack him when he returns

Knowing the cowards at the board, they will sack him while on holidays and send him the remaining stuff he has in Manchester.

I mean he’s always smiling after defeats, so hopefully it’s the same with his sacking.. wishful thinking, who am I kidding. It feels like we’re stuck with him.
