I do not think so. It depends on what Spurs, West Ham and `Arsenal do. The scary part is if Arsenal do get the CL spots there would be people saying that we should stick with Ole as Arsenal did with Arteta.

We would need a miraculous improvement in results as well as a spectacular collapse from several of our top 4 competitors. So it's very unlikely.

Of course not. Arsenal and West Ham will easily finish above us. Spurs could too if Conte works some magic. Leicester have a chance if they ever decide to turn up this season. We will be fighting for 8th with Everton.

Forget the last two defeats. We were comprehensively outplayed by Everton and Villa. And a very poor Leicester side. And West Ham and Young Boys and Villarreal.

Absolutely. For all of the doom and gloom that exists right now, we're not as bad as our form suggests. We've started the season horrendously, and I don't think Ole is the right man to lead us forward - but I very much doubt we'll remain this poor all season.

not easy, in every 5 games we drop around 6-7 points. Meaning at most 62 points is attainable. Can this give you top 4 this season probably not but can be touching distance of the fourth team

The Glazers are turning our club into another Leeds Utd. Absolutely shocking looks like we might have Ole for Xmas Dinner.

The plan does seem to be keep with him and see out the season, getting a top 4 spot and allowing the club to make more concrete plans going forward. The risk is that the performances have been very bad, and it's obvious watching your side that at this moment the belief in themselves is utterly gone, it's hard to come back from that. I think it's very unlikely that if he kept his job until the end of the season he would achieve a top 4 placement. As well as losing out on the CL, you also risk the situation around the club becoming more and more toxic, as disgruntled supporters make their feelings known, and players start voicing their opinions.

Nope

We've already dropped a load of points against average teams and have a hard schedule ahead of us, top 4 will be long gone mid December.

Looking unlikely given West Ham and Arsenal’s form and to a lesser extent the Conte appointment. Potentially very strong competition for 4th if Conte has the kind of impact he’s capable of.

Most friends here are slating the board for not pulling the trigger. Rightly so.

But i have since realised Ole being a "true red", supposedly according to him, fails to see beyond his actual capabilities and says "alright, it is all on me, i will walk".

He is easily on par as a villain as compared to the senior management.

Years down the road, he will be fondly remembered as the one who have spent hundreds of millions but delivered zilch (and sent us into oblivion).
Not 98/99 as those distant memories faded away.

People always mentioned remember him as a player and not manager. Sorry, in human psychological aspect, humans tend to remember or begrudge a person's terrible experiences more so over pleasant ones.

Those players could hit form any point and go on a run that could get top 4, this will have nothing to do with the "manager" though.

we're not as bad as our form suggests.

 we're much worse than our form suggests. We should have 3-5 more defeats on the board, to Villarreal, West Ham, Atalanta and Everton, but for De Gea and Ronaldo's individual brilliance.

No, not with Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham who all look significantly better than us this season.

Yes of course we can - only 5 points off at the moment, we were in a worse position last season and came 2nd

But last season Top 4 was seen as a success, this season it wouldn't be as expectations are higher

It will be difficult especially if we stick with Ole, the competition is fierce this year top 3 is already confirmed now we have to fight with west ham, spurs and arsenal etc two of which at least have a proper manager playing a specific system/style:(

It'll be a serious battle, which is fecking ridiculous, considering we should have been putting up a reasonable title challenge.

Yes. We have better players and a better squad which should see us through. The same question was asked last season and we finished runners up pretty comfortably before we eased off

Tbf, the teams are better this season. The top 3 are pretty much already settled: City, Chelsea, and Liverpool. I'll give us a chance for the fourth spot though.

Wolves too when we should've conceded at least 3 goals and they had a stonewall penalty not even looked at by var.

We're still favourites but it will be a struggle rather than a formality. West Ham look strong and Arsenal are improving.

Things can change quickly.

We’re currently six points behind West Ham and there’s no reason to think we’re going to close that with Ole. It’s only going to widen.

It is load of nonsense this excuse how we can't get Ten Haag right now. He is in Ajax 5 years now. It is not like he just started some project or something. Give him an offer and he will come. Not the first and last time that managers leave clubs during the season.
Just an another excuse from our board (if true)

No way. The players don't give a feck. Simple as. Ya don't make top four with a lost dressing room.

If the European 'results' are the main reason he is still in a job then it just shows how utterly clueless and incompetent the board are! We should have been smashed by Villareal and also lost to Atalanta which would have already eliminated us. Do the board seriously think we're in a deserved position. With Ole in charge we will not get past the round of 16- not a chance!

Nothing is settled - a week is a long time in football

no one gave Burnley or West Ham a chance last weekend

With the players he has he should be able to make the top 4 but we all know he was no idea what he is doing. He is relying on individual brilliance to get him to win the games but with the players openly revolting to his methods it looks like he will fail.

Because Chelsea wasted half a season on Lampard and Liverpool had all their defenders crippled. And Spurs were flailing under Mourinho. And Lego Pep was in the mire at Arsenal.

Could care less if we do. I don’t care about scraping top 4 and getting our pants pulled down in Europe. The standards are far too low at this club.

They did not watch the games. They’re just looking at the results. They couldn’t care less.

I think we will. Over a season, our squad is so strong compared to Arsenal, Spurs, Lei, West Ham etc. that you could put a mannequin in charge and we would finish top 4.

No.

Hes in a spiral now, the 7 behind the ball thing is a sign of it, it was desperation against spurs, and it worked because they were easily the worst team we have played in well over a year.

That he continued with it against a team who don't even have a striker, leaving defenders not even knowing what to do when city attacked, shows its a desperation move.

I love Ole as a player, I think he did a good job steadying the club after Jose, but he is clearly now out of his depth. There are far too many good teams in the league these days to half-ass ourselves into top 4.
