Weird. This is the reason that Ole stays, and will stay. Any "non-Utd DNA" manager comes with a certain solid percentage of the fans who just hate hate hate them. When times get tough, the percentage of hate reaches a level that it can't be ignored.
For Ole, there's always an underlayment of good will -- threads about "And Solskjaer has won it!" and how he's nice to the tea lady (when those other non-Utd managers were soooo mean). He can survive anything...blame will get shuffled off onto someone else, no matter how ridiculous.
Why would the club get rid of him? He's not totally incompetent. Fans like him, players like him (no real demands), he doesn't rock the boat.
Ofcourse, fans are important part. But i disagree that we accept mediocre status. I don't even think we are mediocre. Champions League and top 4 show that. Now, we haven't won title in a couple of years but that doesn't mean we are mediocre.
We don't have to tolerate everything. But we don't have to be Watford or some other club sacking managers 3-4 times a season.
A fan isn't meassured in how much you sing or how little you booo. A fan is a fan. I'm not a person that signs when I'm watching, that doesn't make me better och worse then any other fan.
There are also some of us who just don't think sacking Ole right now is the best way forward, as I don't trust the hierarchy to replace him correctly, the squad is a bit of a mess in terms 7 million attackers and a weak midfield and some huge egos and contracts that probably won't be resolved until next summer. Plus i don't think the best managerial candidates will be available to them.I don't think its oppo posters who are pushing the number up. There are a small contingent who still have a nostalgic soft spot for a "United DNA" type manager. When you combine them with a number of Norweigian posters who are pro-Ole, along with a few oppos, you get the 15% number.
AKA he's getting the season if it's the last thing Ed does
How a win against one of the poorest Spurs sides in a decade helps in any way shows how much expectations are on the floor now.
Meanwhile, Conte to Spurs and Emery to Newcastle means we might just have the worst coach out of all the bigger clubs in the league
If United DNA is playing cowardly clueless football then we are on track. This “United DNA” shite is an absolute myth and the quicker we move on from it the better.
This post needs to be pinned in the thread. Spot on.I don't think its oppo posters who are pushing the number up. The irony is I think one of Conte or Rodgers will end up pipping Ole to it. Its the least we deserve tbh. Extra marks if its MoyesDoes anyone seriously think we can get the 4th spot in the league this season?

The absolute state of some of these posts. My word.
Not really. He basically started a near decade of dominance at Juventus which continued for years and years after his departure. There was nothing volatile about that. The volatility at Chelsea is overrated. One not so good summer where the club themselves signed B-grade players he didnt want (and nobody should want) and a stint that involved a league + FA cup. He didn't do them any damage and won them trophies. At Inter he gave them a league title after ages and left them in a position ready to win many league titles. If the ownership decided to sell their best players, that's not really him being volatile. He left his last 2 jobs after falling out with the club and text his star striker at Chelsea telling him he was gone. He wins a few trophies, sure, but he does it in a very volatile way. Our board are on the stand for a lot of things, being wary and ultimately steering clear of conte isn’t one of those for me
Probably, because we have a gross amount of quality talent at our disposal. If the players decide they want to play for the badge, that should be enough to pull them through, assuming the league stays the way it is. However, if (and he probably will) Conte improves Spurs to any tangible degree, we are in trouble.Does anyone seriously think we can get the 4th spot in the league this season?
Most likely. We will win the "Avoided the Scum Conte" trophy. The irony is I think one of Conte or Rodgers will end up pipping Ole to it. Its the least we deserve tbh. Extra marks if its Moyes
Of course. Whatever the manifest limitations of Ole as a manager, the fact is that we have a squad crazy stacked with attacking talent, and that alone will win us plenty of games. If Spurs buy well in January and summer then next season could be a different story though.
I think we will. We have very good squad full of capable players to produce individual brilliance.
Especially now Ole revert back to defensive set up with 7 defensive players (probably 532) and in attacking third leave it to players like Ronaldo, Bruno, Cavani, Rashford, Greenwood and etc to produce their magic.
And we don't have other strong top 4 contender this season. Now, Conte is at Spurs and they may be the team to watch to challenge us for the last spot at Top 4.
So the common consensus is we are just hoping our attacking firepower somehow drags us to 75 pts.Probably, because we have a gross amount of quality talent at our disposal. Either way, anything we do will be despite Ole. He's shown in the past 3 years that he's pretty much a non-factor in our games as he provides nothing in the way of tactical setup, training prep nor motivation for the team. Quite easily in the bottom 3 managers in the PL quality-wise and yet he's managing the biggest club in the PL. We have fallen far and the day the club as a whole realize this, it will be too late to claw our way back up.
No chance with ole in charge we've looked awful this season.Does anyone seriously think we can get the 4th spot in the league this season?
The fans are the most important part of any club and can drive change. Ours in large seem to accept mediocre status. That's fine if that is what you're into.
Can we do one with 'Self proclaimed Top Reds out'?
Agree with this completely but Viera shouldn’t be mentioned in there with the ‘struggling’ managers! He’s a great coach!
It is incredible that the biggest club in the PL and one of the richest clubs on Earth has somehow managed to employ easily the worst manager in the entire league.
It’s incredible really. Like… how?
How are people not losing their jobs over that?
Imagine being the richest guy in your city and driving around in an old Nissan Micra because your grandad won a rally in completely different type of Nissan 30 years ago…
It’s insanity.
Does anyone seriously think we can get the 4th spot in the league this season?
Aaaaaahhhhhh…. The negativity…. Bathe in it. Revel in it.The irony is I think one of Conte or Rodgers will end up pipping Ole to it. Its the least we deserve tbh. Extra marks if its Moyes

Says a fan who couldn’t wait til Moyes was sacked.Heard a plane is planned for the City game with #FansOut across the banner.
A behemoth club like Manchester United is held and judged by different standards, we should be going for trophies and dominate teams, not just top four and barely win matches, and it’s not matter of entitlement, we are the most successful club in England, we dominated for decades, we are among the highest spenders in the sport, we don’t get judged the same way Brighton, Watford, etc do. We are mediocre, would Bayern, Real, City, Chelsea, etc be happy with top four and no trophies?
I just feel resigned that he's here for a while now. Not even upset about it, I'm almost beyond caring at this point. If the club doesn't care, why should I?
Yes! Our squad is as good as any of the top clubs in the world, too many sentimental people are quick to find excuses.. ultimately, this all falls on the board and the Glazers, true they spend, but they don’t know how to run a football club, and us fans have to deal with their shortcomings. And we buy some of the worlds best players alongside producing them.
Same. I cancelled BT sport today because who cares. We aren’t winning the CL this season. I’ll stream it or listen to the radio. The football is crap and we’re going nowhere with Ole.
Literally we’ve only got the FA cup to play for this season.
I love Ole. I love the few coaches who I'm familiar with but they are not up to it. Sorry. They're not good enough and may never be. Who would buy and own one of the nicest private jets you can buy but only hire a student rated pilot to fly it? Someone being paid billions to paint the plane with sponsorship logos and let it sit in a prime viewing spot? And we buy some of the worlds best players alongside producing them.
Common senseAaaaaahhhhhh…. The negativity…. Bathe in it. Revel in it.
I have switched to Ole out since the Leicester debacle, but I can’t support this kind of crap. People openly hoping we shit the bed vs Atalanta and City. The hyperbole in these posts is just alarming. Ole isn’t the long term solution for us, but I’d rather have him than half the managers in the league. Absolutely no nuance allowed here in the Caf. No gray area. You either are 100% for Ole or you are 100% for sacking him immediately and kicking him in the balls as he leaves.
If you want to call me a Top Red for injecting some common sense into this thread, so be it.
Any United fan talking about nuance after being smashed 5-0 in 50 minutes (could have been double figures if they kept going) at home by Liverpool and no trophy after 3 years of management is either deluded, a wum or a troll.Aaaaaahhhhhh…. The negativity…. Bathe in it. Revel in it.
