Tbf, the hierarchy likely feed them that delusion.

Don't forget Moyes' Boys, LVGs Red Army, Mourinhos cringey song.

I reckon they come here and the deity like worship gets to their head. Other clubs use and dispose of them like condoms.

Its unedifying to see, but once the players stick the boot in like this, its over for a manager. Doubly so for a manager whose relationship with their players is supposedly a strong point. Honestly, it would be brutal to see him in the dugout vs Spurs, he would get ripped mercilessly by the opposition fans & the press as a dead man walking - and they'd be right. Better to let him go now, even if we have a non-manager like Carrick in for next weekend until a perm arrives.

Being a nice guy is all well and good but he's clearly been found out - time to go before his legacy is one of a clown manager who was a patsy for the board rather than a top manager that a club of this stature deserves.
That's already his legacy now for a lot of fans and it's sad. Especially for the fans that aren't old enough to have seen Ole play for us.

Too many links now to Conte and player unrest coming out. I think he's getting sacked today.

With the Guardian reporting that several players have stated their frustration at the lack of direction - Ole "not up to it" and "tactically underwhelming", it should all be over by now.

What does Gaz say though? Not Gaz the club owner but Gaz the pundit as values tend to change according to the role he's covering

Read on Manchester Evening News the players found the coaching sessions under Carrick and McKenna "uninspired"...whatever that means
It means exactly that - they find their coaching sessions uninspiring.

Too bad for Carrick cause this unsuccessful stint will probably damage his potential future managerial career.

Am I the only one who is (pleasantly) surprised that our board is considering getting rid of Ole already? A lot on here complaining that is hasn’t been done yet.

Even after the 5-0 loss to Liverpool, I still genuinely expected us to hang on to Ole until it was mathematically impossible to get top 4.

Replacing Ole now would actually be somewhat of a proactive move from our leadership, believe it or not.

Not taking an actual managerial job is damaging his future managerial career. Even Conte, a Juventus legend, went to Serie B to earn his stripes.

The fact, from press leaks in the UK, that he will still be in a job for the Spurs game is frankly astonishing. Mates who hate United have been saying for 2 years that he’s not up to it and praying that he never gets sacked, which says it all.

Our biggest problem which has held us back as a club is confusion over our identity. It should be blooding young players from the academy and winning, the rest is a load of sh*t.

Take the busby era for example, we hung onto traditions for too long and paid the ultimate price in relegation. We only got back to where we wanted to be when we got a genuine elite manager with a hands on approach. We have to realise that and appoint the right man to make us win again or this cycle perpetuates for another 15 years easily.

If they did get rid now I'd say its probably the first time they've sacked the manager at the right time and not left it too late.

Agreed, but then look at the tweet that was just posted straight after your comment:lol:

Won't be watching this weekend so. As expected the board are going to allow things get very, very bad. We will lose to Spurs, absolutely zero doubt in my mind.

They can’t ignore the fans. They absolutely do not want to make a change as Ole is the perfect manager in their eyes. However modern football is largely consumed online and they will be aware of the fan consensus. It is clear at this stage that some 90% of us want a change now however we’re still seeing desperate PR leaks to float the idea of giving him more time. Like anything with the owners I’ll believe something has changed when I see it.

It's so weird. Because he's literally a dead man walking. If 'some' players and staff have turned on him, then there is a slimmest of chances that he turns it around. Once again shows incompetence at the top of our club, which is the biggest problem that we have.

I think it's obvious they're waiting to get passed Tottenham an City then he will be gone.

Conte can't take charge properly in 3 days. All about the right timing.

Dear lord what the flying feck is wrong with this club?? Every man and his dog knows that Ole isn't the right manager for this club, yet why do our board persist with him??

The players that want him gone will down tools and make sure it happens.
I can’t believe the board are giving him another chance, this is worse than anything Moyes, LVG or Mourinho served up.

The fecking staff wants him out too? There’s literally no reason to keep him then. The fans , the players and the staff wants him out, I don’t think Ole has the personality to turn this all around.

We could appoint Phelan as interim for the 2 games. No difference

Not to mention sitting alongside Ole looking at the iPad.

I have had enough of people caring about the careers of ex-United players. I care about United. If you are not good enough for your current role, you should be shown the door (that should include Neville at Sky who, in a professional capacity, is indulging his nepotism).

I think it's a collective problem with the coaching and not just one man tbh. I reckon all are going to be replaced in the near future.

That is truly unbelievable. Honestly no words. This is what happens when your board are a bunch of commercial numptys that don't watch watch football.

May as well keep him until we get a replacement lined up? I’d rather Ole in charge than Carrick or McKenna tbh

Lads, I know a lot of you want Ole to be sacked, but can some of you try and be a little respectful to the man when voicing opinions? Whether he is the right man for the job or not, he is still an absolute legend at this football club and that should never be forgotten.

I get that but that’s not good for squad moral. There will be players against this and poor Maguire trying to keep a steady dressing room which we all can physically see he’s not up to it.

Ole also derserves better. There giving him and interim send off.

Yeah I don't see how that helps, if anything it makes it worse.

As the poster above says, it's the whole team that needs shifting. At least when/if Conte comes in he will bring his whole team.

Fed up of seeing Mckenna and Carrick look gormless on the bench.
