Ole had any self respect he'd walk away. It's plainly obvious he is out of his depth. But managers don't walk away these days cos of the massive payoffs for being failures.
Since days. Football journalism.
The more the media press for a new Manager, the more unlikely it will happen. No-one , least of all multi-millionaires want to look like they are puppets dancing to the tune of some hacks and retired players.
If United want to change manager it will be in a few weeks time when the noise has abated.
I try to approach life with a positive attitude, and i am priveleged that in general, i find it easy to do so. That doesn't mean to say i don't feel down sometimes.I really hope I have your positive attitude in facing my life. That will make my life a lot easier.
Extending his contact was again brilliant decision by board. As usual brain-dead decision making.
Fans can go with the emotions but board should be objective in their decision making. We fail at this big time.
He played 3-5-2 at Inter. Yes, he played 3-4-3 at Chelsea and you are correct that it suits Rashy and Sancho better but any formation with 3 in the back is problematic for us because it requires world class wing-backs and a superb sweeper. Who is going to play those?Where does this myth keep coming from? Conte used 343 at Chelsea with Hazard & Pedro. Rashford & Sancho are perfectly suited. Also our squad is ready to compete now, & Conte will come to win now. He doesn't need a big rebuild in the slightest.
That's because we just don't have football people running the club at the top. It's not like Ole was going to be poached by any other team even if had been massively successful. I am sure he would have stayed loyal to the club even without a new contract. Similarly, they have also given an extension to Phelan.Extending his contact was again brilliant decision by board. Players briefing against him and club openly talking to other managers. He's fecked.
Shameful letting him stagger on after all the briefing that's gone on today. Abysmal club management from the board but par for the course.
I was not implying our club. I was talking generally about some aspect that raise some skepticism regarding Zidane. We lack financial power?
I don't downplay Conte's ability to win the league, nor that I would say no to Conte now, just to daydream about getting another Tuchel (my initial point. I was actually questioning the comparison/ high expectation for new manager to hit the ground running and saving our season when taking over mid season). Those achievements - in League 1 with PSG and merely making a final with Neymar, Mbappe and cp - are nowhere near Conte winning genuinely big trophies in Italy (starting a dominant dynasty), England (after Mourinhos meltdown season) and again Italy (champions after ages).

Tuchel has been amazing for Chelsea, so of course everybody wants him, now. But he is not available, so it's a moot point. On the other hand, Tuchel at PSG was strangely underperforming so who knows.I was not implying our club. I was talking generally about some aspect that raise some skepticism regarding Zidane.
The main point is that despite his trophies tally count was not as impressive, ticked a lot of boxes as upcoming coach. He's more balanced thus look a safer option.

I am not defending Ole and want him gone now. I just keep an open mind to possibility of tough start for manager taking over mid season. Whoever take over need to do the homework, on the squad, and especially their bosses. Getting the all the backing guaranteed before taking the job, lest the money men at club pulling the rug on them, or making unnecessary compromise (looking at former player turning under qualified coaches getting pushed onto manager's backroom staffs).
Conte is clearly one of the best manager there is, and more importantly available. He however has his flaws, which IMO, if available the same time as Tuchel, I would prefer Tuchel. Taking over from Ole, Conte is more than good for me. Just no compromise.
Pretty bad when opponent fans want Ole to keep his job while a large part of Manchester United fans dont want their own club legend as a manager anymore...
Of course they want him to keep his job. Why would City fans want what’s good for United?
He used the 4-3-3 at Juventus and was known there for altering his formations to fit his players’ skill set.Problem with Conte is that he plays 3-5-2 so we will have no use for Rashy or Sancho and we don't really have 3-4 players he needs for his system. And he is not known for changing his system to 4-3-3 or 4--2-3-1 so how can he play with the players we have? Otherwise, yes, I like Conte as well but can't see how he can come in midseason and do anything good
I will disagree on that Conte wouldn't get his 5 at the back going as is. He can make less than ideal wing backs to a serviceable level. Remember that he had made Asamoah, Ashley Young, Darmian, Victor Moses looks competent. While I don't expect miracle on AWB. He can coach, so there is hope he can make someone like Dalot, Telles into serviceable, until we can work in the transfer to get his wing back target. He played 3-5-2 at Inter. For wingbacks, Luke Shaw can be good in attack (hasn't been this season) but he is way too horrible defensively for that role. AWB isn't good enough in attack and while he is a good tackler his positioning is nowhere good enough. And obviously we don't have a proper sweeper.
Personally, my only hope is that Conte is a very smart coach so maybe he can also play us a different formation, if he is actually as flexible and adaptable as a great manager should be
I long since a new manager. Been waiting for the game vs Emery. He isn't English journalist tbf. Also he is much better than Simon stone whose tweets are cryptic messages all the time.
I was responding to a hypothesis situation where Tuchel pre Chelsea, and the same set of current available top managers available.Tuchel has been amazing for Chelsea, so of course everybody wants him, now. But he is not available, so it's a moot point. On the other hand, Tuchel at PSG was strangely underperforming so who knows.
They say Zidane is not interested, but even if he were I think I would take Conte in the hope that he can develop a system which works for our squad and not insist on a back three and wingbacks, for a system that he prefers, but we may not have players for. Zidane causes too many questions. Hist trophies are impressive but not sure he himself is great or lucky
By sweeper I meant a DMF playing in front of back 3. Not sure who Conte can use for that in our team.I will disagree on that Conte wouldn't get his 5 at the back going as is. I am not entirely sure what you meant by superb sweeper, so I am taking guesses here. David Luiz had his flaw, and Conte coaching actually elevated him. Leaving David Luiz to his instinct and he would be all over the place. Bonucci without the system as seen during his short stint with Milan couldn't lift the whole defense. de Vrij was not considered top class before Conte took over, and now he's one of the best in his role.
We have Varane who has all the tools. Lindelof is likened to Bonucci in style, and Juventus briefly had shown interest in him if he's available during the window we bought Maguire. Lindelof can play so good long pass. There is hope with a clear system especially that is built around his skillset would elevate him.
Are you serious? Would you want Lampard at Chelsea or Tuchel?Pretty bad when opponent fans want Ole to keep his job while a large part of Manchester United fans dont want their own club legend as a manager anymore...
Good to know. Thanks for sharing. He used the 4-3-3 at Juventus and was known there for altering his formations to fit his players’ skill set.

The myth that Conte is stuck to a single formation like Prometheus to his rock needs to stop.
Would rather kill myself than watch one more game under this manager. So yes, hoping for the best and getting an injury would be better. Some people are trying to convince themselves this is going to happen. You're gonna do yourselves an injury, folks!

Conte can use a 2 box to box midfielders. There is no rigid holding midfielder needed. The basic of 3 at the back is having an extra CB to maintain number in defensive transition, and that freedom to step into midfield. If that CB has a good range of passing, then it's better.By sweeper I meant a DMF playing in front of back 3. Not sure who Conte can use for that in our team.
My days, killing yourself a bit extreme? But agree, eyes have been burnt, the evidence is strong, he needs to go. I am 80% sure he will go today, i am going off mainly history as we sacked Moyes and Jose on Tuesdays after Sunday games but also a contact who mentioned that patience is on very skinny ice.Would rather kill myself than watch one more game under this manager. So yes, hoping for the best and getting an injury would be better.
