Is Ole a good appointment?

Watching the presser now, really laughed when he said there was no one who set on the bench more than him. He has been smiling the whole interview, such a likable character.

Out with the old.

In with the new.

Will be useful to remember Klopp's record in the 3/4's of a season he had after taking over from Rodgers, 48 points in 30 games but the foundations laid for the side we see now. Bringing our style of play into the 21st century will be Solksjaer's most important task.

I know Ole has to be given a chance but I have no faith in him whatsoever, I have serious doubts if he will last in the job to the end of the season. I expect Carrick to be caretaker for the last month or two. I can’t offer any evidence to support my opinion and I obviously hope I’m completely wrong.

That's exactly how I feel.

It feels a bit like the 80s for me. Don't think we're winning the league, hoping for a good F A Cup run and best of all, some attacking football with every player giving 100% for each other and the club.

Haven't look forward to a game as much as the Cardiff game for years (probably even in SAFs last season or two too). The away fans are going to have a party in Cardiff and the next home match is going to be bedlam... hope first few results don't burst the bubble.

Agreed! I’ve calmed down a bit after the appointment and am prepared to give Ole the benefit of the doubt though like you say I hope the next few results don’t end up being a damp squib.

Some nice attacking football would be great even if we end up winning games 5-4 or 4-3 as let’s be honest you could drive a bus through out defence sometimes!

It's such a great fealing to finally have a manager that loves the club from the bottom of he's heart! We should not underestimate that, I hope OG will be our future after 6 months ... Give him time to find back the united spirit and attitude in the players

I am not expecting much from him. To be honest I'm just glad Mourinho is gone and just the mood is improved.

While I think we have a decent squad, I think it will take a really good coach to get them playing well attacking wise and continuing to be decent defensively. Something like what Sarri and Emery have done. I have my doubts 20LEgend is it. Not as simple as go on boys enjoy the game and express yourself.

Having said that he should at least do better than Giggs did.

What did he do right before Keane was booted out of the club?! The suspense is killing me!

Jog my memory for me please .

The day after the infamous interview on MUTV Fergie summoned the team to watch the interview and discuss it with Keane present. Some words were spoken and then Keano stormed out. Ole and Scholesy followed after because they didn't want to talk about their teammate and friend while he wasn't being present, despite threats of a sacking from SAF if they folllowed him out. Or something like that. Keane described it as a beautiful sign of loyalty. But they didn't exactly impress the management with it!

First time in a few weeks I'm looking forward to a game today. Only just seen the press conference, very impressed with Ole . If he's lifted a grouchy old fecker like me, he can't fail to lift that dressing room.

Only just watched his presser. Really enjoyed it. Weird seeing so much positivity. So much difference from Mourinho and his negative, moody attitude.

Really hope it works out for him here and the players up their game and finish strong.

I'm happy to see such a legend at United.. and I hope he does well.

But he has to really shake up aspects of that squad, he may need to offload some players, and tell some the harsh reality about the quality required at the club. Many of those players are not good enough, and I just hope he can get that degree of 'nastiness' and distance between himself and the players WHEN it is necessary.

Not saying he should just be a bully , no way.. but I just hope he can dominate that squad and changing room.

I'm with him, of course I am. But let's not get too overwhelmed by nostalgia. And believe me, I f***ing love Solksjaer.

Don't think he will be selling anyone, that will be for whoever comes in at end of the season. I do hope the club are a bit more ruthless with the outstanding contract renewals though. Several should just be let go.

Actually it’s a little annoying you got Solskjær as he seems like such a nice guy that I won’t be able to enjoy it when you lose like I did with Mourinho, the miserable git. He just looks and sounds adorable.

You can finally enjoy it when we win then!

Seems like since Ole has control of his first United game all his title rivals have started dropping points. Our victory on the last day of the season will be so sweet.

It's okay we won't be losing anyway :smirk:

Solskjaer could've starred as one of the hobbits in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Nice article. This bit in particular:

What I quickly learned is that he is such a warm and friendly person. He makes you feel part of the club. He goes out of his way to talk to everyone, from the people working in the canteen and the admin staff to the players and the ball boys. He makes himself available to everyone at the club. And it’s not only about football. He wants to make sure you know he is there for you, regardless of what you want to talk about.

People said EXACTLY the same things about Ferguson. That could literally be a quote about Ferguson. Ole has clearly modeled himself on Fergie

Not bad for a manager whose only experience has been being a fecking failure at Cardiff. feck off you twats who can’t ever look beyond this island.
