Is Ole a good appointment?

PSG at home has been the match perhaps we did not do ourselves justice.
We have played well in the remaining matches.
As Ole said we were not 'shit' against Arsenal. We simply did not take our chances.

Looking forward to Wolves tomorrow and Barcelona.
What its all about.

They will announce him soon. Molde's first match of the Norwegian league is on 31st March. They will have to get a new manager sorted, if they haven't already, which is as good as confirming Ole as United's new manager.
Rumours are it will happen in the international break, which syncs nicely. No messing up the Wolves preparation, 2 week break where he can go back to Norway, story dies down before his next match.
No chance of that happening. You know we keep news outlets in business right?

I think it will be announced next week too, especially if we win. It will become a bigger story if it gets farcical that he hasn't been given the job.

Gonna laugh if nothing happens after all this "it will be this week".

Champions League quarter final against Barcelona, big game against Wolves to go for the FA Cup. Fighting for a place in the Top 4.

When is the last time we've had this much entertainment at this club in March/April? Its tense, unbearable and the stakes are high. This is what this club is about. Ole hasn't just given us a reason to watch United again, he's made us relevant once more in footballing terms.

I don't know what's possible with him at the helm in the future, but I know for a fact where we are now wouldn't have been possible without him. Give him the job, back him and start planning for the future. This club has drifted aimlessly for far too long.

Non United fan point of view......

Ole was given the job after Mourinho to steady the ship, familiar name, 'safe' pair of hands, it did not matter what he did, he is and always will be a legend. Bring back the love and get to the end of season.

No one was expecting what has happened to happen.

So now, your in a position where you can't not give him the job. There is no one in their right mind who would take it. You'd have the majority of the crowd offside from the get go.

Which is fine as far as it goes, and you may have stumbled across a football genius.....but none of it smacks of a long term plan or vision. If Ole was the right choice from the get go, he'd have been given the permanent contract from the start.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Sometimes the best results come from stuff that isn't planned out.

Van Gaals best run of play was when he was forced to change formation due to injuries, and we booted City, Tottenham and a couple of others.
Rashford came to prominence due to injuries.

and probably some other examples...

Ole prefers playing the first leg at home. Damn right, Ole! Away leg second is the way to go.

It's a tough match.

Hopefully people don't use it as a measuring stick, but you know they will.

They will judge Ole against Barcelona. But people like Poch, Pep and Klopp have not been required to beat Barcelona in their first half a year in the EPL, with a side they didn't even build.

Will they offically announce him as perm manager before the season is over? Would be another nice boost for team morale.

Is there a reason they won't/can't (maybe contract with Molde)?

The first real test is when Ole meets City, Real, PSG, Barcelona and Liverpool at the same time, that's the real test ppz..

His contract with Molde has already been cancelled as part of this deal.

Too much faith in Rashford and Lingard. His refusal to take them off is the few annoying things.

Fred should have been playing, best player against Arsenal and now dropped. So frustrating. I am still behind Ole though.

Seems to have a weird obsession with Matic just like Mourinho. Not a coincidence since that jokers come back into the team that we’ve conceded 4 and not looked like scoring.

Was always a tough tie. Everyone said so at the time.

Attitude has been the main issue tonight and while that's up for Ole to sort out, it's much more reflective of a team of players that need worked on.

Players like Rashford who can look like superstars one minute and then go for matches looking awful sum up what we're dealing with here.

Really disappointing and Ole hasn't done anything to try and change things. But then, what does he have available to make a significant change?

He has been let down by players falling well short of expectation tonight - what's important is how they come back after the international break, which looks like it may be a blessing in disguise for us.

Think he got the team wrong tonight, throwing in so many players who are coming back from injury was always a risk, and they've played like a half fit side.

Bar his first 3 games our football has been rubbish, in my opinion. Hopefully, with a preseason and solid investment, we see more of the football from those 3 games than everything since.

I wonder why we don't pass it between the lines anymore. Our defence were doing it for fun in his first few games and it really helped in opening the opposition up.

If we had any good players sat on the bench I'd agree. But we'd be taking them off only to replace them with more dross

The other team want it more. So passionate.

Got outclassed today by Nuno. We look hopeless in this second half and never looked like scoring.

Bar 3 games? That's a complete exaggeration.

Despite results going in our favour, I feel that the football is on a constant decline for a while now. Honeymoon is over, Ole needs to step up.

I love oli an absolute club legend he’s come and lifted the team but he’s out his depth the honey moon period is now over god knows where we go from here,I cannot see us finishing in the top 4 and definitely not progressing in the champions league.

Shouldn’t have put in so many players back from injury but we don’t have strong options from the bench.

He doesn't have much choice does he. Supposed to bring on who exactly?

The issue is the same it's been for years, the squad is full of average players. The fact some fans are happy with Smalling because he's had some decent form again, shows that some of the fanbase are as well.

What I can't believe is how we've left ourselves open to counters from corners ALL game long. Against a team whose only tactic in big games is 7 men back, and hit teams on the counter. Amateur tactics.

I've said so for a long time. Our football from them games compared to the others since are night and day. We've got great results but I think our general play has been pretty rubbish.
