Is Ole a good appointment?

I love this bloke. Haven’t been this happy as a United supporter since Fergie left.

He needs to show what his long term plan / philosophy is.

There are so many examples of interims doing a wonderful job as an interim and then not being able to do it in the long-run.

Saying that, he's doing a great job, and if he does get it, good on him.
How can he possibly do that without being given the job in the first place? People need to stop putting unrealistic expectations on Solskjaer and judging him for things out of his control at the moment.

He can do / show it by the end of the season - when we've had our CL run, and faced Liverpool and City again.

And that's when the decision should be being talked about, not now.

Solskjaer would have to do more than he's doing to convince me he should be the next permanent manager. In fact I'm not sure it's actually possible to do so in a short term interim role.

We don't actually need to be convinced though, do we? There comes a point where replacing Solskjaer with someone else just isn't worth the disruption or the angst, so you give him his chance. He's certainly on course for that.

If he gets top four while continuing to play like this and gets performances in the CL
then give him the job. Beating Liverpool to help deny them the league would be good too.

I genuinely can’t think of a single manager in world football that would have come in and done as good a job.

If its a false dawn, its the longest false dawn we had in years:drool:

What more does Ole or the team have to do for those who voted No to change their vote? Honest question.

This is the man to take us forward. Give him a full time contract for christ sake

'Go all out for Poch' crowd will never change their mind. They are in love with an oppo manager and aren't objective.

The question now is when is the best time to announce his long-term contract?

But even then Poch was always unlikely to come mid December. So as per the original contract until the end of the season how can anyone at this point say he was the wrong man? Would they prefer we kept Mou? Or did they vote and decide to unwatch the thread?

Great use of the squad today. That was one of Sir Alex’ strongest points, getting performances out of the squad players. It’s good to see Ole doing the same.

I’m a maybe at the moment. No denying his done absolutely above expectation. Brilliant job so far. However the reason the my uncertainty is I don’t feel comfortable giving him the job without seeing how he handles bad form & results. How does he get the team back on track after defeat? His reaction/decision when Pogba,Martial & Rashford go through bad form.He probably will get the job and it would be deserved but I wouldn’t be confident going into the new season. We really can’t afford to mess up a 4th appointment.

I'd rather keep him and the team hungry. He's already speaking to the board about the long term vision without a long term contract so they can still track targets.

What if Solskjaer turns around after beating PSG and says 'give me a perm contract or I'm off at the end of March'.

Or someone else jumps in with an offer next month?

What happens then?

Ole is in direct competition with Poch which leads to a lot of strange posts by Poch fanboys. You can spot certain posters quite easily, they expect Ole to be perfect while making all kinds of excuses in other threads for Poch.

Maybe I read it differently to others then.

I read has Ole (who has been made manger until the end of the season) the right decision. On those terms I can't see how people can say nope I wanted to keep Mou. I don't think Poch was even on the table mid season.

So just short term would you say he's the right man for now?

But it's only been 1...2...3 games, oh but all easy game, he hasn't played anyone..
Tottenham away, oh but we could have conceded 200,
more wins, Arsenal away...
oh but we're not top 4
Fulham away... now top 4

Oh but he hasn't beaten PSG

And so it goes on...

Yep I think you could say we truly have turned a corner...

Oppo fans?

It's a good question. Luckily I think his heart is on his sleeve and might even be his downfall. I think he would actually put the club first rather than demand that but who knows. I think if another big club come in he would wait. After all he will be getting input about the possible long term outlook.
