Simple truth of the matter is once they give the vote of confidence it's a time where they are acknowledging something is wrong.

And if you are gonna tell me how managers like Poch and Allegri isn't an upgrade on Ole, you are either deluded or it just blatantly shows just how simply biased you are towards Ole.
Poch or Allegri? Feck, they literally believe (and argue) not even Klopp or Pep would do much better than Ole under the circumstances we are in.

I get the impression by sacking Ole, Woodward is admitting he made another error in recruitment, which he does not want to do as surely he has little rope left.

I'd say no, man.

I think we need to accept that for Woodward's employers, each season exists in a vacuum and as long as Ed hits his targets within that 1yr vacuum, the reset button is pressed.

If the season tickets are renewed this year, even if Ed sacks Ole and the media give the club grief, the reset button will be pressed again and the next 1yr vacuum commences with a new manager and a new target set.

Are we waiting for Poch to take the City job before we fire Ole? The way the club is being run that is honestly something that wouldn't surprise me. We'll then hire Giggs or someone.

Can we please just relieve Ole of his duties while we can still remember how much we loved him as a player.

Pretty much, the silver lining is that our managers never last more than a few more months once the club puts out the dreaded 'vote of confidence' brief so his days are surely numbered.

An ambitious top club would still try to salvage the season by bringing in someone else at this point but our board have shown that they don't give a shit about where we end up in the table or how we look on the pitch as long as the money keeps flowing in

They'll be in for a reckoning though once we get overtaken financially by the actually well ran clubs in the league (which is 100% coming as long as we stagnate on the pitch) and the money well starts drying up. You can only go on off of nostalgia and your brand name for so long without improving/adapting.

People rave about his man management but his man management in last one month or so has been atrocious. James, AWB, Fred all look exhausted. Instead of protecting the board maybe he should protect his players. It is sad how he is undoing the some good works he had done.

The dressing room is beginning to turn, say the Independent:

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...aer-manager-ed-woodward-glazers-a9298866.html

I expect we'll start to see many more of these stories emerging.

“This lot probably would have had a problem with Fergie,” one source said.

To my mind Delaney's always been a bit of a BS click-bait merchant, hasn't he? Not saying it isn't true, but it's definitely an easy thing to write at the moment, especially when journos have word quotas they need to fill about United.

The moment you get dressing-room articles en masse is pretty much the point of no return for a manager, so we'll see.

I think Ole should resign and out all the bullshit thats going on behind the scenes, only way he's going to save face now from whats been a horrid 12 months.

When I said so last summer I was laughed at. I am firmly anti Ole's camp as I think he's out of depth. However the club can't expect a manager to succeed unless they fully financially him..

Such an lazy article, any of us could have written that. One source saying something, probably made up and one sentence about players being unhappy.

Although I don't know what Rock of Gibraltar dispute has with Glazer takeover?

Presumably that Fergie was supportive of the Glazer takeover because it got McManus and Magnier out of the club?

Yeah, one source who holds senior position at the club told "Miguel Delaney asked for quotes and was told to feck off". Other source who was close to the incident heard senior source saying "I would rather talk to Sun journalists than Miguel Delaney".

Seeing him saying 'We've not had great luck with injuries this season... ' proves the utter incompetence we have on our staff. Sometimes one have to remind oneself that these footballers cannot be rational about pretty basic stuff since most of them aren't educated in anything but fitness and tactics. I'd love to see the numbers but honestly speaking this squad is probably less injury prone compared to our previous squads. They just fecking suck (including ole). Saying that, the fitness staff still have some explanation to do - I mean how have we lived through smalling, Jones, tuanzebe, Sanchez, rojo, shaw, pogba, saha, Hargreaves, etc. without asking the proper questions? Has anyone been fired yet?

What exactly do you expect him to do!? If I was on the board of directors right now, there is no way I would sack him.

Are the players you have in the starting 11 under performing? No they are not.

Is you position in the league lower than should be expected for the group of players you have? No, it is not.

Has Ole spent hundreds of millions on bad players? No he has not.

Expectation has to be aligned with reality, and right now, for what he has to work with he has done nothing wrong.....at all.

If you expectation is you are top 4, your expectations are wrong, not the manager. If your expectation is that he returns you to 'formery glory', again, your expectations are not aligned with reality. I'm a Blackburn fan, and I can expect them to get promoted. Its unrealistic, and it doesnt change reality.

A realistic expectation is

Finish top 6.
Look after and improve the young players (who you are harming by leaving your stadium empty after 80 minutes by the way).
Improve the quality of the squad in the summer
Remove dead wood (eg Pogba)
Aim for top 4 depending on budget in 2020-21

Aside this a long term plan might be to aim for top 2. but you cannot plan for that, you have to improve on the field over a period of years, and you need a long term manager to do that.

You had Jose, you had Ole (who most of you wanted), you had Moyes (who again most of you wanted). You got Pogba, and Sanchez (who most of you wanted). So stop blaiming the manager, get behind him, do the decent thing and support your team, good or bad.
All 6 of your posts on the caf are you being a condescending twat to united fans on here. Feck off and get a life, troll.

People bragging about 5th place as if it's some kind of achievement, ignoring the fact that we are closer to 14th than 5th

'Criticism gone way too far'... hahahaha

Get fecked. This fanbase deserves a fecking medal for the patience they've shown these cretinous bankers.

Gone too far? It's just fecking started mate.

There were chants about him dying so yeah, it did go too far.

Good article or not with results like yesterday it's only a matter of time until the dressing room will turn.

Woodward is such a coward, the fans need to take him out back

Some chants and all of a sudden the criticism has gone way too far? Jesus Christ what a joke football has become. Good thing though that stupid comments like these might fire people up a bit more. Some songs here and there are far from enough.

Those having a go at Ole for not publicly criticising the owners, his employers, need to get a reality check. It wouldn’t look good for any manager to do it. As people say, he needs to do it privately, whether he is or not is a different matter and for us pure conjecture we won’t know until the book comes out.....

That team on paper should have beaten Burnley at home. That’s the problem, forget the injuries, board etc, on the pitch this team which should have beaten Burnley lost and in the second half we were dire. This falls on the manager and no one else’s. No real direction, no passion, gutless. That’s why I want ole gone. This team/squad should not only be 5 points or whatever ahead of 15th, it’s a lot stronger than that. He is not a Man Utd manager full stop.

Don’t bring up previous managers, I don’t care I’m judging him on what I’m seeing on the pitch, week in week out followed by some post match nonsense.... again last night .......

That comment about medieval times after RVP was an insult to our greatest managers and players gone. I also don’t trust anyone who smiles that broadly when their team has just put in a performance like that...... again

Man Utd football club built by Sir Matt Busby circa 1945 - destroyed by the glazers circa 2005 - RIP

He was only the Reserve manager. Never the youth team manager.

Thanks DBT. Two names come to mind, Etzaz Hussain and Magnus Eikrem from that generation I’m pretty sure there were more in that squad and OGS had something to do with the influx.

I remember OGS taking Eikrem to Molde when he left and I’ve checked and both eikrem and Hussain are at Molde now. Can’t remember any of them making it big....

I admire Ole for controlling his emotions in the post-match interviews. Although it can be very annoying to see him smiling and being positive, it's the best thing he can do right now.

I loved that quote where he said the he is responsible for what's happening on the pitch. Fantastic to hear him say that.

I said this months ago. I said if he continued being a yes man, he'd be sacked regardless with all the blame. Its coming, whether it be now or in the summer. He'll be the one left out to dry. He should have, in the summer, left hints about his discontent with the lack of signings. Not Jose style but subtle.

Publicly criticising the owners, what good would that do, do people live in a dream world ? uhm .. well, yes they do, but .. then the board would appoint it`s own figure that they could use as their own puppet to a larger degree (henche like, a Steve Kean type like at Blackburn). Also more aggression towards ownership makes them hide even more in their shell, and one day they will be out of reach too. This publicly cowboy mentality is ignorance talking, do you think criticising solves anything ? If yes, would that be the managers job? As i see it, that would be the last person to play with ultimatums, no manager is at that position in todays football. But, maybe Klopp, and we all know Klopp and Woodward would not work out, thus meaning he would be sacked too. There is a hierarchy here, the owners can still milk Man Utd also with angry fans, so, what does that help ? Hanging players and managers to dry and say welcome to us we are United, welcome Poch, we want you .. well, that`s tempting. That would be a fantastic environment to work in ! Also for the kids (youth) and agents .. who would deal with Man Utd, and why should they ? At the moment everything is toxic at that club. The league has changed since Fergie. Fergie left and the team already then needed a rebuild, Fergie went good for Glaziers (that is not to say that he liked it, that is politics people and fans are not as high on that hierarchy as you would like to think esp with foreign ownership, or just take a look over to Newcastle). Other teams make their own bucks, and don`t need to sell players anymore. Sheff Utd play fantastic this season, Leicester won the league, Arsenal are struggling, as is Chelsea, Liverpool are winning, Bournemouth are in premier league (Bournemouth have a defender valued over £40 mill) Ancelotti is the manager of Everton etcetc. My point is, premier league have become surreal. Agents have power over the players owned by the club, meaning agents dictate the club, the manager are no longer numbero uno at the club as there now is a hierarchy, blabla. As said, people live in a dreamworld, United don`t have special rights to be the best, there are many teams now up for that same competition. Man Utd are on par with the likes of Wolverhampton at best (explained by the data that these two clubs have played the last years - pretty even). It will be pretty ugly on Man Utd before it can get better, and if the team (meaning everybody, also fans, if all are not together, then this club will keep on falling .. even with Poch).

Criticism can of course be good, but that is another story and this was about a manager criticising the owners, and how smart or not it would be.

Was just listening to Talksport for a short time just now, I believe a few United fans have already rung in and are not happy. Just listening to a guy now and it is excuse, excuse, excuse. Anything to take the blame off Ole.

And what are the exact lyrics of the chant you found went 'too far'?

The latter chant – which contained the lyrics ‘Ed Woodward is gonna die/How we kill him I don’t know/Chop him up from head to toe/All I know is Woodward’s gonna die’ – was condemned by BBC commentator Ian Dennis during the match.
