Mata was hailed as the saviour when we signed him. Sanchez, ADM too.

You can only blame them for not creating a DoF position but they have continously backed all managers with transfer kitty. It's not their problem that the managers decided to spent it on duds.
Not close to the required amount. Look what happened when Ronaldo left, and when Scholes and Carrick retired. This is a team that requires over 500m in investment over the next few years. Nothing less than 100m per window will do. Only then can we recover and start challenging for the title again.

Fergie failed to hold on to Pogba too, I guess he couldn’t sell him on what was going on at United?

You don’t know the reasoning behind Haaland’s decisions, stop fecking assuming whatever helps bolster your argument, it’s poor form.

Very much this. People like to twist every situation to support their position.

Not getting Haaland was unfortunate, but it happens. We walked away from a deal that didn't suit us.

Using Chong and Gomes as sticks to beat Ole with are laughable. There is nothing we've seen on the pitch to suggest that those two belong at this level

I’ve always liked you Bagginses. Level-headed lot, you are!

The “ex gooner” played more than a “small part” in our history, he was the driving Force behind out last title win. He hardly had a Michael Owen sequel cameo role at the club.
Compared to Solskjaer it was a small part though.

1 title vs 6 titles, 2 FA cups and 1 CL?

He was pretty much the reason we won the league in that season. Without him I doubt we would have won it.

Without him we could have gone for another player though. I remember there being talks about Lewandowski. Had we got Lewandowski things could be very different now and we might have won more titles.
Also we could have boosted our wings and midfield more too.

We would still have got David Moyes though.

That doesn`t take much doing .

It takes when many of the current players have been here for 6 years and counting.

We lost the league the previous season and RVP came and single handedly won it for us. That's big enough for me. I will pay everything I have to jump back in time to that season, or win the league again.

Also no one anyway compared his history to Ole's. I don't even know what brought this here. RVP was giving a simple notice on the current manager. Or should he say everything is great to be appreciated for what he did for us ?

RvP was a bigger player for us.

Ffs, everyone goes on about Ole scoring against Bayern.

Okay, cool, so did Teddy. Shall we give him a whirl in the manager’s hot seat?

Solskjaer has to be one of the most overrated ‘legends’ in history.

His exploits are akin to what Origi is doing at Liverpool.

RVP was better than Lewa back then. In his last season with Arsenal and first season with us, he was arguably the best striker in the world.

He was obviously supposed to lambast the players, as everything is obviously their fault.

Teddy got the equaliser otherwise there might not have been that last minute winner. Teddy also scored in the Cup Final, Ole scored that late winner against Liverpool in the Cup.

Yep, one great season, whereas Ole played a huge part in winning several titles and cups.

Yeah again what brought such comparison between their careers here to start with ? Why are you forcing the thread in that way ? Pretty weird.

He done more than Solskjær though. Unless Solskjær ever got player of the season for us. But then again that would have required him to start a lot of games.
Hmm Solskjær started 216 matches and scored 97 goals, he was a sub for 150 matches and scored 29 goals, all over 11 years.

I’m not sure you point is?. I was contesting the dismissive Comments about Van Perisie‘s contribution to our history not comparing Solskjær to him to disparage Ole. Solskjær is an obviously important player who made many contributions over a prolonged time where as Robin was that talisman behind our and Fergie’s last championship, thus making them both important to our history.

Considering Robin raised an interesting and valid criticism about our nature in accepting defeats so readily. I found Solskjaers comment strange and find the notion of belittling his significant contribution to our history something worthy of challenging.

Oh shut up you clown. Ole was a great fecking player. He was vital to our success. Hilarious how so many are coming out to the woodwork to malign Ole's career as a player. It doesn't matter how poor a coach he is (and I think he is quite possibly the worst one in the division) it has no bearing on his status as a player.

We should be so lucky to have even one player half as committed to our team right now.

(And Van Persie went a dozen games without scoring where Hernandez and Rooney scored vital goals)

It's that notion that RVP is as important as Solskjær to United. RVP might be important to Arsenal, but for United, he's just 1 title and that's it. Solskjær is a way more important legend for United and that's just a simple fact.

It's not his fault that a poster decided to turn a harmless RVP comment into a footballing career comparison.

What a prick.

I`m not forcing the thread in any way, just saying that a guy like Ole with so much history at the club is just brushing aside a comment made by a guy that had one good season here as irrelevant to him.

Their career has feck all to do with this, or are you just suggesting each ex player pundit should have a bigger footballing career than the current manager to be able criticize him ? What a weird point of view to look at such topic.

RVP was just going by what SAF would have done, funny enough. It is Ole who is stressed by it. It was a nothing comment Ole made it into something it wasn't meant to be.

What an absolute plank you are.

Can't wait until Ronaldo or Messi become managers, try bringing up that they didn't do much.
You don't have to wait for them. Just look at Maradona when he was a manager (terrible one btw, but maybe not for the reasons we think), some people would go and say Maradona was not good enough as a player!

I think for some players, they could do things with such ease that for them, some aspects of the game is natural. And it must be really complicated for the players to understand exactly what they want because they cannot "guess" what the whole vision of football was when those talented players become managers. It's certainly not a rule, but I think you must sound a bit mystic sometimes when you explain stuff that seem trivial to you, but are not necessarily to almost everyone else.
