I'm annoyed with OGS, because we are witnessing that corporate style approach to management, without character, definition or commitment. OGS has spoken about encouraging young players, but this is not unique, not at all. Plenty of teams encourage young players. He talks about a 'project' and needing time, but now he admits they are not even progressing.
I don't trust him, not at all... because he knows he is out-of-his-depth, and plays on his hero status. I don't think he is the sharpest or brightest manager.. He is a corporate voice, an average manager, shaping (a number of..) average players to consistently perform at an average level.
He's just like Gareth Southgate to me....
We all know a thing or two about what it takes to become Manchester United.
Passion, Value, Virtue, Never Say Die, Pacey electric wings, no dirty laundry, youth bla bla bla. Every fans who's been in the pub to listen to folks would know what is United value.
The problem is, none of us knows how to get there, inc. Ole.
Anyone can tell us how they want us to play (442, wings, direct, etc), but how to make the team plays like that?
Anyone can tell us which attribute they want in a player (young, passion, love the club, etc), but who?
Anyone can tell us which formation we wants to play? But who among us really knows the details and what it takes for one formation to work?
Anyone can tell us about rebuilt, about long term, about short term pain? But do they really know for sure that there is light at the end of the tunnel? Or they just keep digging till the day they got fired and cry about not being given enough time?
Anyone can tell this is not the United we aspire to be, anyone knows we're a work in progress. But does Ole knows how and what needs to be done to become that other United?
Anyone can tell you that our tactics are impotent against lower-midtable teams. But does Ole knows any other tactics?
Knowing what the problem is, and knowing the solution to the problem is two different thing.
