Better than parking a bus against Watford because we are scared to get caught on the counter
Oh god. Hes not some messiah. Every single united fan knew Mason is an extremely talented player. He "gambled" on him because we literally had no other striker options having sold lukaku.
Plus he still sees rashford, martial and james as our starters. Mason is getting minutes because of the congested match fixtures.
Since Fergie we had 3 managers who all failed to make us contenders for the title. In addition to this, none of them made us play fluid attacking seeworthy football, even in glimps.
With Ole we lack consistency. Agreed. But about half off our games we play attacking and fluid football, and we have occasionally great moments. This season we had great moments against, Chelsea, City, Spurs and today against Newcastle.
I prefer us keeping Ole at the wheel, with positive sparks, and a constant progress towards more consistancy, instead off just another change in manager. There are no quick fixes in our situation.

First as a permanent manager, conceded first against Southampton and won 3-2 while he was caretaker.
Bit underwhelming towards the end. Newcastle gifted us 3 goals. Not convinced. Still would rather have him sacked.
He could have easily asked for another striker to be signed.
Great today regardless of my opinion on him. Very fun and some great goals scored. Newcastle were idiots but we took our chances and had a proper response after going down. Good job resting players for the upcoming tough match as well. No complaints tonight.

Was very comfortable and never looked like conceding, no need for the players to bust a gut with such little turnaround before the next game.
It was the result of good attacking football though. I was a bit worried that we would look decent but fail to score once again.. thank goodness the youngsters pulled through
He still has to go. People acting like beating Newcastle is like winning the champions league final.
Half way through the season, 7th and and potentially 27 points behind Liverpool if they win their games in hand.
We'll end up losing to Burnley away, No consistency, No shape, Lazy players.

Nice win in the bag. Shame we can’t stay consistent, but that’s understandable given the squad.
Yes with 4-1 up and a match in 48 hours - of course we should have our players work their socks off ..
Stuff them with goals and then control the match, this is how should be done against weaker sides and well done for today's win.
Thanks to Ole, we've another memorable Boxing Day match, and most goals scored today unless Liverpool break that in a moment

Good result but there were too many flaws in the team. He still has to go. Not good enough. three goals were stupid mistakes by Newcastle.
I’d gladly let Leicester take that off it.
Pleased we won but that was mainly down to Newcastle capitulation,Ole needs a horses for courses approach when playing against big strikers.
Should look at mixing things up and starting Tuanzebe against Burnley,feel sure he will cope better with the Wood threat than Lindelof.
Same thing applies to Mason and James because I tend to think the top six games where we counter better suits Dan but matches against tight defences will suit Greenwood more.

Do we expect Ole to take United back to the top, or does he just fit our needs at the moment? I actually have some troubles believing he can take us to the top. But I actually was prepared to give him time even if it went bad this season, mostly because I didnt see any good candidates. We have had our ups and downs so far. Under normal circumstances I would say go on. I think Ole in time could takes is in the right direction. But I also think his plans are very long term and statistically there are not many managers who survive for years. I also think he dont get max out of his players on a regular basis and we should even with this squad perform better then we do.
We have had our ups. We are the 2nd best when playing against top 4(if im not wrong). But I actually dont think our game was that good. Liverpool was a good game. Against City we perform for about 30 mins. After that we cant do anything else then defending and are only some heroic moments from getting one or two mote in the sack. Leicester is a game I dont believe we even one. So poor. 4-0 against Chelsea was the biggest lie of them all. And then we have all the bad performances against "lesser" teams. Against Watford we play a bad game, but some argue that we had minimum luck and that we gave Watford two goals. Now we have just won against Newcastle and some would argue that we played very good, specially if we look at the result. But I could make the argument that Newcastle gave us some goals with poor passing. I think Newcastle was very poor. Positives is that our strikes actually beat the keeper which we didnt against Watford.
My point in all of this, if we see in 1 year time a United thats on the way back in to the topp 4 and performing on a good lvl, would that make the decision to not sack him now for Pochettino the right decision? Does Ole deserve a chance what so ever? This is a question I struggle with. I believe Pochettino could take us just as far as Ole. I also think he has the potential to takes us even further. I also think if it was one year ago and we had to hire a manager and Poch was available Ed would have chosen Poch 10/10 times. I believe we are maybe a little to romantic and we wish that a former United-legend can replicate what Ferguson did in the past. I think there is no denying that Poch may be the hottest manager on the marked since Klopp took over Liverpool. Some may disagree.
So in short what Im asking. Is it right or wrong to keep Ole if we can sign Pochettino, and what would be a "success" in one years time if we choose to stay with Ole. And last but not least, will that "success" prove that United did the right thing keeping him and not hire Pochettino? Is Pochettino a factor at all?

No need to downplay a decent performance. If he truly isn't good enough the next set of underwhelming performances will always be just around the corner

Today won’t change my opinion. This thread is weird though 1 win it’s Ole in 1 loss it’s Ole out.
We need to start backing up these good wins it’s been our downfall get a good win against Burnley and we be on the right track. The problem is a mid table club away I can nearly predict what will happen. One result won’t change my opinion but putting a few wins together will certainly help change mine and other people’s opinions

So winning 5-1 against Newcastle (rather than 4-1) is more important to you than having fit player to play Burnley in 48 hours. God!
Great win today but we still has a long way to go before we look like a well drilled team. Our defense looked shaky in the first 30 minutes and we had problems to pass the ball between lime. Thanks to mistakes and individual brilliance we could turn the momentum in our favor and after our third goal it was more a walk in the park.
Imagine this team with a competent coach. I’m still Ole out and today’s game didn’t show me anything I didn’t know before.
