All time, really? Pep sure but Klopp I'm unsure just at this stage in his career.
Anyways Ole has earned more time for sure. There's every chance now that the majority are wrong about him. Let's see how the next fixtures play out.
Pep is top 5, Jose easily top 10. Not sure why you're getting Klopp involved.
I am all in for Ole, just dont like the defensive subs when we have a one goal lead. We need to keep playing football in stead of retreading to our own box..absolutly hate that. I think we could've decided the last two games way earlier than the final whistle if we just keep doing what we do best which is counter the heck out of the opponent.

Think today was mainly forced by martial clearly not being 100% fit and he tired heavily in the 2nd half. It proved the right decision as we started getting some counters back off again.

Although I agree, counter attacking at full speed time and time again is exhausting. And with the high pressure we tried to maintain in this game as well, it's near impossible for any athlete to be able to do both, all out, for 90 minutes.
He taught Pep Guardiola (who is a repulsive person as he believes passionately in the human rights of Catalans yet is very comfortable earning millions from the slavery and oppression of arabs) a tactical lesson and we can all be very very happy about that.
I'm willing to be Ole in the rest of the season and assess when it's over like the rest of the managers we've had. Its great seeing us beating us the big teams but we are losing and drawing to the minnows.

Three losses in four for Frank, honeymoon period is coming to an end. Extremely dodgy fixtures from late December until the end of February. They'll surely strengthen in January. We need to do the same (CM + forward) because we're always just one injury away from capitulating. Kind of ridiculous that we find ourselves in a position where Pereira is our 'best' first sub.
We need a better bench. Pereria is clueless. I’d still get a RW though over a Striker. Gives us more options.

Yep. And it wasn't a flukey win. We had 11 shots with 7 on target. You could argue that there were 2 shots besides the goals that should have gone in from Rashford.
I feel Ole does have it in him to crack on with this squad and we will see this team really tick in the next couple of seasons.

No not relegation form and I'm not the poster who said it was. I'm just saying that while are just below 4th, we're as close to the top 4 as we are to relegation on points.

If you're annoyed that fans are moaning about the team, you may as well just call for this forum to be shut down. Along with the rest of the internet.
People who want Ole out are just begging for years of a merry go round of "top" managers who get swapped in at a notice. We've had 4 since SAF and Ole has produced the best football so far. Yes we need to more consistent but that comes from a manager who builds trust and shows patience. He's building a core, has the tactics and the players want to play for him... now he needs reinforcements to pull it altogether. Patience is key.
Terrific peformance and result for Ole. He set the team up excellently. The passing was crisp and accurate. The players were able to deal with the press. The front three absolute toyed with City's defence and or own defence was dogged and well organised.
I've always said that Ole being successful depends on whether he can build an attacking system at Manchester United where we dominate games on the front foot. And he still has to prove that over a year from his appointment.
However as a standalone game, away at City where you simply have to sit back, this was as good as it gets IMO. Well done.

I've been part of Ole is just not the right man for the long term crowd for a bit but, find myself reconsidering at least the "out" part till end of season but, the club has absolutely got to back him for another CF and midfielder in January. The few games before McTomminay got injured showed when we have the current players available, we can even be pretty good against the not big sides.
Today's game was yet another example of how Ole wants to be able to play and frankly, with the players we do have, when we are given the chance to play like that, we can be absolutely scintillating. Against the better teams or even teams that do want to attack with numbers, it works wonders. Also, there is no doubt that as a team he has us well drilled / organized defensively, and it's been some poor individual mistakes have cost us quite a few goals.
The problem I find with what Ole keeps talking about building seems so our attack is tied to the quick direct with intent as he put it (said counter-attack has a negative connotation today) approach. That cannot be the only thing he is building us for. There are too many teams we will come across that where we just won't be given that space where we have the likes of our front 4 having space to attack one on one or get in behind. What I have failed to see from him so far is getting the team to move the ball quickly in the final 3rd when the other team is setup with men behind the ball. We don't need to be able to City/Barcelona-esque but, we can't only then rely on a moment of brilliance in those games but, we have got to have a better approach to breaking down a low block.
The other thing is in games like today, it again is one of those cases where when things are going well from the off he looks really good but, his decision making and or lack of decisiveness to adjust when things are not going right is a glaring issue. Sheffield he waited too long and Aston Villa he should have done a lot better to get a hold of midfield because having forced to use Perreira in there by making the likes of James/Rashford come help rather than leave them out there twiddling their thumbs and hoping we can break.

Well said. Hopefully with Pogba back we can do better at breaking down the smaller sides. Our upcoming fixtures are easier on paper, but has been the kind we have struggled with so hopefully this is the turning point where we finally find some sort of consistency

This is one of the most important things for me. When we are in form, we pass with precision and intent, along the ground. Its terrific to watch when it clicks and its a far cry from the kind of negative hoofing "counter" we have seen in the past
During 07/08 when we had that amazing trio of Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo running at defenses, everyone seem terrified of attacking us, because it meant they would leave space we could exploit. If we manage to instill that fear in other sides and also get better a breaking down low blocks, its an incredibly potent combination. I saw that today with Liverpool vs Bournemouth. B'mouth were terrified of coming out of their own half, which meant Liverpool had 90 minutes to just grind them down.
Pogba back + Haaland and a quality CM in January and i think a lot of that could be fixed.
It's safe to say, that if we have our squad fit, Ole has figured out how to utilize us the best against the top teams - home and away. Now it's the donkey work to figure a way that how without Pogba we could unlock the teams who sit back with 2 blocks of 4. Either find a suitable additions to midfield or ?

Anyway this is an absolutely magnificent result whatever way you look at it, even though I couldn't watch. There's no need to talk about sacking him now, will be very illogical. Let him get a chance for the rest of the season and see what will happen. Things are looking to improve, and looking at the lineup today, this might be actually our best lineup.
So I wonder when the time will come when you pretend all the B/S you've written concerning Ole didn't happen. Can't be long now....

We’ve had a shit season up until this past week and it’s great that people’s opinions can be swayed by good results, team selections and tactics. The definition of being a twat would be for el to be in here now saying ”he’s still shit, sack him cause Poch’s better”, but he’s not, he’s admitting that Ole’s had a great week that he’s enjoyed and has deservedly earned himself time and probably a Jan window.

Hurting? I’ve had a great week, my best week watching United for a long time, and I’m a season ticket holder.
What kind of weird, twisted, fecked up World do you live in where you think a United a) wouldn’t LOVE a week being Spurs/Mourinho at home and shitty away and b) doesn’t want Ole to succeed.
He has to be backed if we have any chance of being a true success under him. I'll be left completely bewildered, but also not surprised if the club lets him down in January.
Reality is Ole's managerial CV has no foundations, and we have been swinging wildly with performances and consistency for a while now, so people are bound to have doubts, and flit between in and out on the back of a couple of results.
There is no shame in that imo, and it'll continue until he establishes consistency, and cuts out the rubbish against the smaller teams, but hopefully it will come as it'd be great to have for the long haul.
I can't see it, but if we could get a top midfielder in January then that would really help us see what he can do until the end of the season.

Its strange really, he praised both Guardiola and Man City comprehensivly yesterday: «in my opinion the best team in the world», «massive fan of all Guardiola’s sides», «I read his books» etc etc.
But it is uncanny how similar he and United actually are (or is trying to be) to Klopp and Liverpool.
His man-management (constant praise, sympathy and «buddying up» with the players), passion for the club and the players, type of players (and the attitude he wants from them) and preferred style of football - everything points to that he is emulating Klopp and LFC.
But i guess that he is actually aware of that and how badly it could look, so he says the exact opposite thing.
And, ofcourse - sticking it too Liverpool by naming their biggest rivals the best team is the best way to do that.

5th is still not great for us. Good in the big games and poor against the weaker sides. We need to find a way to break teams down and also improve our defending. Only 2 clean sheets is not great. 0 clean sheets against non top 6 sides is terrible.
