The reluctance of the Ole Out faction to come on here and give credit to the manager is staggering. Cowards.

He deserves credit for his record against top teams. And he has tactically beaten both Jose and Pep in the last few days.

Really chuffed for him because even I was thinking if these two games had gone wrong he'd be in big trouble.

His record in these big games is outstanding, we've barely lost any of them in the year since he came in and that's with a very flawed squad.

Give him time to add some creative players and depth to the pace we have.

we all want Ole to be a success, some are just more skeptical than others.

That's just untrue i'm afraid, there are dozens of posters on here who were ready to stick the knife in and throw insults, some aimed at the Manager (I find that staggering given it's Ole) and others at posters who back him.

Sad truth is that some United fans are fans more of specific Managers than the club itself.

Under Ole's guidance Rashford, Scott, Fred, Dan James, Martial, and (IMO) Greenwood have all improved.

Not bad at all, given it's only been half a season.

Agree. Needs at least 3 in January to get us through 2nd half of season and then a good summer. 3 in January must include creative spark and a goalscorer. CM, Creative player and CF.
Three new faces in January??Ridiculous notion, just need the one in midfield and do the rest in the summer.

Jesus christ can we just all back the same manager for a change?

Even if we sack Ole and Poch comes there'll be some here that'll want him out after 3 games. It's like Groundhog day in this thread.

Couple of huge wins to cement our climb up the table now we need to build on it by beating Everton next week. I have been OleOut since Newcastle but credit where credit is due, he has done well.

Getting a midfielder in January is absolutely crucial and maybe a different type of striker.

a brilliant week, so happy. well done ole and the team.
delighted for fred. the club really need to back ole now in January and the summer.

People really now need to understand that Ole isn't naive tactically, if anything he's proven himself to be as good as most other managers.
Since he's joined us, he's beaten:
Pep
Jose
Poch
Rodgers
Tuchel
Sarri
Lampard
Emery

Addtionally, he's drawn twice vs Pool- the first one where we were struggling with injuries. As far as the 2nd draw is concerned, that has so far been the only game this season where Pool have dropped points.

Most of those with weaker teams as well, which in my book is more than enough to give him more funds for a better team.

I previously said he needs to earn more funds and trust, well, he's doing it so far.

The team we have is better than leceister and Chelsea yet, they are in top four. I would not change our team for leceister or Chelsea and no other United fan should. Poch has done better with less, so the comparison is unfair to Ole.
Poch had a far better team on paper, probably the 3rd best squad in the Prem. Where is your hero now?

So much this. I know it almost certainly won't happen, but what a difference say Eriksen and Haaland would make to this team.

To me that gives me more hope of winning the Champions League than the Premier League. We've seen time and again the latter requires consistently better results against the teams outside top 4. Not a lot of managers have been able to do that. In fact of the seven premier league managers from the list only two have ever won the league.

Not to say Ole can't do it either, but lot of improvement needed yet

Remarkable record against the top clubs for a tactically inept manager..

Worst in the league I have been told.

Yeah, hes clearly a Championship manager.

To be perfectly clear though, i have backed him and ended up on the fence after Villa, but is back in his camp now. You dont beat Chelsea x2, Leichester, Spurs and City just by chance

I had been Ole out since the Bournemouth game. I am not anymore. Our big game record is as good as it ever has been. Just hope we spend and spend well in January and really push on from these really big results. Watching Ole beat Jose and Pep within 3 days has been fantastic to watch.

Less, laughing out loud...

Poch in reality had a top 4 team with players in their peak with little or no injuries when he was doing well with Spurs. Poch struggled badly when the expectation grew and players lost form under him watch and he deserved the sack. Spurs have a better chance of finishing 4th this season with Jose than they had if they kept Poch.

Myth. It is only third best because Poch created that perception. A midfield of winks and Sissoko is no where near good enough and their defense leaks goal consistently. Only their attack is great on paper.

Add Sancho and a prolific goal scorer to this team and things could get tasty

Some people getting ahead of themselves again. First half was brilliant, credit where it's due to Ole and the team. But I just do not understand what he always says to our players at HT when we are leading as we always come out so defensive and negative that we don't even try to cross the halfway line. It's not only today where I guess it kind of makes sense to park the bus as City are a very good team at home but we do it against anyone and nearly lost the lead. Ole clearly bought some time and as much as I still don't think he is the right man for the job, he deserved it for these 2 matches.

Clearly dont have a clue.

City where always going to change tactically......already happened around the 36min mark 1 half.

They where going to throw the kitchen sink
.....

If we tried to play high and attack we have got roasted quickly with the over load city can do better than anyone. We were set up to counter not to play possession and dominate
.......be suicide tactics.

got it spot on.

But sure spin it to have a dig at Ole..........like brexit people cant go against their feeling

What if Rashford, Martial or McTominey get injured. What if 2 or all of them are missing at same time, were screwed then. Difference Mctominey has made since being back from injury. We lose Rashdord to injury we will feel it. Our bench was weak today. What if we are chasing a game, who will we turn to. Agree with you that a centre midfielder is top priorty in january but think ole needs to try get in another option for attack either that as a creative player or CF goalscorer.

moan moan.

100%

He talking like his football knowledge is from FIFA where its stats and programed play.........NO WAY ANY NEWLY PROMOTED TEAM SHOULD BE GETTING A RESULT AGAINST US........THE SAME US WHO I BEEN SLATING ALL YEAR FOR NOT BEING GOOD ENOUGH AND THE WORSE UNITED TEAM EVER.

Its pathetic

He’s proven that he can set this team up against the better sides. Can’t dress it up or try and take credit away. He’s got the job done in these games. It’s not even so much tactical but the players are giving everything in these games which means they’re responding to him but still there needs to be a huge improvement in the games against the rest.

We've witnessed so many false dawns post-SAF that you can't hold it against people for remaining skeptical. They deserve credit for not being so fickle, if anything.

The one concern I have about the team at the moment is the lack of squad depth, which will become more apparent as the season draws to a close and players begin to pick up niggling injuries due to tiredness, so Ed has to go out of his way to add midfield reinforcements this winter and I don't trust him to do that.

Only myth is you thinking Poch is one of the best managers in the world but hey knock yourself out with those views...

In my opinion there is a big difference between being sceptical and wanting the manager sacked despite winning against spurs and City in the space of 72 hours.

5 points of 4th, and now 8 points of City in 3rd. Funny what can happen when a manager has his full squad back, minus your best player still. Also worth noting, this is a very thin squad in terms of quality and maturity. He will get his time, and hopefully his signings in January to, then come end of the season will be a fine time to judge what he is building.
All i know, is other than the Europa league, Ole has given me 3 maybe 4 of my top 5 highlights since Ferguson has retire. I am all Ole in, have been since the begging and I am certain, once we add a little more creativity in the middle and RW we will see us carving through the teams that sit back, thats all we are missing in my eyes.

What if what if what if

Fantastic result. Now he needs to beat teams who doesn't give us space. We always are in with a chance with teams who attack us.

Our first 30 minutes was probably the best I have seen from us in many many years. Fast fluid with clear and distinct intentions. Our whole team was great and I couldn’t be happier watching us play. Credit to our players and especially Ole and his team. Finally is saw a light in the tunnel and it gave me hope that their is a way back to the top.

Ole has his formation and tactical approach spot on. So many players who stepped up. The rest of the game was mostly in City’s favor but that was expectable with then chasing for goals.

Next step for Ole is to make us play this good against teams who defends and also plays on a counter.

What if Mane, Salah and Wijnalum or Henderson gets injured? What if all 2 or all of them are missing at the same time? Is Liverpool screwed? Maybe, maybe not, Origi is picking up, but he might be on a purple patch. Stop speculating, yes we need a bit more depth but we are not that far away and we can't make everyone happy. You need people who will accept to be subs and that's all.
