But it's not though. Klopp and Poch were both left shambles of squads that had been bloated with terrible signings under previous managers and they made it work.

I'm not expecting miracles from Ole but a good manager should be able to come in and at the least get the team playing better, show signs of them adapting to his style of play and make the players he has perform better. We've actually been worse under Ole in the last 15 games than at ANY point under our last three managers for feck sake!
LEAVE OUR OLÉ ALONE. There I said it

Give him 2-3 years - he’s massively improved our overall play and attitude-just needs more backing from the board in terms of player recruitment

By this logic should we have not sacked Moyes or the others ? The same leeches were in charge then as well.

Those managers we're backed though? Moyes, LvG and Jose spent a fortune up until last summer when it suddenly feels like we've put the handbrake on.

You can see what Ole is trying to do and what the squad needs, if we aren't going to add new players the only choice for Ole is the youngsters because we were going nowhere with the likes of Sanchez and Lukaku.

… If the club had ambition we would have paid the 30m to get Pochetino and given him whatever he needed to fix this club. We didn’t do that because there’s no will to spend what’s required to do that. …

When will you accept that money wasn't the issue? Pochettino didn't want to leave Spurs and didn't want the United job pure and simple.

I'll still back him

Not even Pep would get anything out of this squad

all of Ole's signings have been the men of the match in all our games.

If we can sort the midfield out, things will start to look better.
Ah but didn’t they have the opportunity to sort the midfield out in summer?

You’re not telling me that there aren’t a host of midfielders out there who couldn’t hold in to the ball better than Pereira and Lingard?

I’ll wager in Ligue 1 there are a dozen better

What about Klopp and Rodgers? Or Emery and Wenger? Or Poch and the shit managers before him. Or Conte and Mourinho at Chelsea?

Blaming the previous manager for a current managers failings is so lazy

Just touching on this but you mention Klopp... He took 3/4 seasons to get Liverpool as they are now.

We need patience here, the deadwood is on the way out and I really think Ole has a plan.

What? Why wouldn’t Allegri? He’s miles better than Ole.
Don't even try, mate.:lol:. There is something seriously wrong here. People don't want world class manager like Allegri because he is "defensive" manager while we have limited and average manager who plays on counter attacks.

What do people expect with this squad to achieve?

We're heading to the right direction with the summer surgery and clear out, and I have no doubt some of our kids will be given more opportunities once we have 2 - 3 games a week and if they perform they will phase out some of our underperforming players

This will be a transitional season, can't fix all the mess in 6 months.

Not sure there is any point getting rid at the moment. If it gets even worse then the board might make a decision at Christmas. We just have to hope something clicks.

Chelsea have more of an identity than United and Lampard’s been there what 2 months? Results won’t come right away but performances and style of play show where a team is headed.

So have Leicester under Brenton.

Absolutely no point even thinking about sacking him this season.
The club have left him light - let's see what he can salvage with it.

If we then finish miles down in the summer, it might be another lottery throw of the dice.

80% of our fans think Rashford is going to be world class and that Kane was a 1 season wonder and not worth 40 million pound...
And 90% of the caftards would change the manager after every bad result and pretend the club signs the most hyped player on the market instantly - at the push of a button.

Move him to director of football and get a proper manager who can set the team to win games. We don’t look threatening the whole game and only when Pogba move further forward, we look more menacing in attack.

People.ask why we would sack Ole. Just look at his record since the PSG game. Its appaling.

Ole had a full transfer window to shape a squad he needed to make top 4 at least. He is responsible for the squad and the results. He is and was way out of his level of managing.
It’s certainly looking that way. Obviously, he can’t take the blame fully (Woodward and the glazers). He was just a good caretaker manager, that was wrongly offered the permanent role.

I’m hoping he fixes up and this is just a poor blip. He’s got some interesting ideas, but with each passing game it looks more and more likely that he is the wrong man to manage United.

But, we can sit here and hope he proves everyone wrong.

He is the worst performing permanent manager in Manchester United’s history. A win rate of 19%.

Not won an away game since March.

Those saying back him are either stupid or drunk.
Those saying sack him are either drunk or stupid. Some of them anyway.

I can't imagine any scenario where the manager would tell Woodward he wants to get rid of players and not replace them with better ones that suit his style. Youth in today's construct isn't the same as it was in the 90s, so you have to have experienced players to move the needle.

It was Longstaff or nothing.

Klopp had proven himself at Dortmund. Ole was the Molde manager and that's his level.

He did, but he had a defined style of play, and a definite sense that they were getting somewhere reasonably early on.

I remember watching them blowing good teams away, but being let down by a poor defence quite early on. Then they fixed the defence.

What experience does he have as director of football?

Just because one might have lost a limb that doesn't mean he want bed sores as well.

What I really don't like is that we're playing so slow when in possession, as always.

I thought he'd change that, but obviously he don't want or he simply can't.

Pochettino won't come to United 4 matches into the season, so that's not even worth discussing.
As for Allegri, he's just boring.
I don't think he'd get much more out of our squad Than Soljkaer is to be honest, Poch may do, but Allegri? Nah.

Allegri is ten times the manager Ole is.

If he steps down as manager, I'd keep him on as Technical Director. I think his squad restructuring has been good.

When will you accept that money wasn't the issue? Pochettino didn't want to leave Spurs and didn't want the United job pure and simple.
You don’t know that for certain. He’s a manager who has integrity, you can see that.
I just think amidst all the speculation when Jose left, he didn’t want to stab Spurs in the back.

At the end of this season though?

These are frightening stats, no wonder he’s saying it isn’t a dip in form, our form has been steadily shit for awhile now.

Pathetic post!
What’s pathetic about it?
Are you claiming that Ole is a better manager than someone who managed a PL team successfully for a decade?
You’ having a laugh there.
Based on what? That he was a great player for us?

One thing for sure is the squad we now will have to punch well above it’s weight to just finish 6th.

Klopp took over mid season and got them to the EL final and he steadily improved them year on year, and right from the get go implanted his style of play. We've actually regressed under Ole.

But Klopp is a great manager and Ole is far from that so that's pretty much what you'd expect I guess.

I don't want to sack Ole because there's no point, and his actual signings have been good. But we are going nowhere under him. We need to sit it out while we rebuild the team, get the right signings and bring through the young players that are actually good enough and then hopefully a manager good enough to win things will become available. Until then we will probably languish around 6th-10th, sadly.

Goes much deeper than the results though dont you think?

Could have probably kept Lukaku and Sanchez around and maybe slogged out a fourth spot place, give Herrera his 300k a week or whatever he wanted and just got on with it. Change was needed, he's cutting the cesspool of a squad that was build over the last 6 years and is trying to start fresh with hungry young players, it will take time.

How was he naive today though? Southampton did nothing for almost 90 minutes and scored from a re-crossed corner

We're creating chances, we just dont have the quality to finish teams off. James has had 1 season in Championship football and already looks twice the player of the rest, it shows you what level these lot are at.

Rashford was fecking gash today, he offered absolutely nothing both on and off the ball, James must have put 3 balls in on the 6 yard line and he was nowhere in sight.

Yes, in my opinion he was naive. Today was much the same as the Wolves game where we looked good in the first half and completely turned to crap in the second. Playing Pogba deeper than McTominay against Palace and Southampton was clueless and it was also bizarre bringing on Matic and Lingard. After an atrocious transfer window I expected to see at least some cameos off the bench from Gomes. Greenwood should have been on earlier as well. We had 20 minutes to break down a 10 man relegation team and we look as toothless as we did last season. I agree with you that the players he has to work with are not up to it but Ole has to share the blame for how we set up and his in-game management as we fail to adjust when the team goes through spells of pressure.

We've been the best side by far in all four games so far, it really hasn't been as bad as some makes it out to be. He's got the right idea, but as I said earlier, he's got way too much confidence in some of the players and some of them just doesn't have enough quality on the ball to unlock tight defenses.

He just said in the press conference that we tried to bring in one more attacker but failed. That's on Woodward.

What? Why wouldn’t Allegri? He’s miles better than Ole.
Well has he shown he can get results with a squad of this quality? It's different at Juventus, they're stacked, we're talking about a manager who managed to lose to a United side with a stroppy Jose.

A long season ahead lads but just have to accept that we are no longer a top 4 team. Very average squad. Ole is a yes man and glazers are happy the club will just keep making money outside football reasons. Ole was right last season it's the Leicesters and the Newcastle we have to watch out for. So far he is right. Only thing he has got right. Joke how the club is run. Not looking forward to playing city or Liverpool this season. We will be chasing shadows.

Anyone remember the end of last season when some were convincing us everything will be fine once we gain some fitness ?
