Today’s post game presser was without a doubt his best so far. More accurate and better understanding where to answer and when to ignore. I also liked that he went back to being “himself”. More charm and less defending. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I like to study body language and expressions and add those signs together with what he says. If words and expressions goes hand in hand then that’s normally a good sign.
With experience he will gain confidence and soon learn how to use other tools like silence, black eyes (think Peir Luigi Collina) or just set his own narrative. When he learns to use his eyes and expressions a little bit more he can soon take better control of the “press room”. It’s a fine balance. So far his charm and Norwegian accent is working in his favor but in order to survive long term it’s better to properly learn how to use silence and talking with is eyes as a powerful tool.
No complains, only looking at details and how to improve.

Ed has been taking us all for a ride for years.
Very happy to see he's not given up on that high-pressing style he tried implementing when he first joined us. We were looking genuinely quite good with that system, fatigue and injuries killed it off after a few months though, sadly. A full pre-season to work on our conditioning will do us the world of good, hopefully means we can use his system without running out of steam.
To be honest though, he could give the best or worse pressers - all that really matters is the job he does managing Man Utd football club.
He will be judged on results, and performances once the season starts, and if these are good to great - then he deserves praise and backing.
If these are fair to good, then he deserves time and some critique.
And if these are poor to fair then he deserves criticism and ultimately to lose the job.

I personally don't like how he basically said everyones got a chance to shine in this pre-season... even though he fecking saw them in the flesh for like half of last season. Surely the 30 games or so you had last season was a good enough sample? This is where a proper DoF system would be handy, because they'd ideally would have been there and know all the players inside and out and tell OGS "No, Ole, he's shit for what hes earning... we're selling him". Guardiola didn't even need a pre-season to know Joe Hart wasn't good enough.

If we can't sell the players we want to sell and can't buy the players we want to buy, the only thing that can save this season is if Ole manages to make the best out of what he has got. It doesn't mean it will work out but it would be defeatist to just make everything about the players who aren't good enough instead of inspiring those who might contribute, however unlikely. If we need them to perform then he has to try.

Pep plays to the theory of Johan with certain tweaks. But it is still the same and it is a very successful formula. Pep knows it well as he was the fulcrum in the team. I think he still has not found someone to play in his position.

Without watching the video, it's hard to come to any conclusion.
You should watch the Post-Match press conference where he responded to the question of incoming transfers by answering that the reporter should ask Ed.
That answer is open to a lot of interpretations and misinterpretations. However, the most obvious is that Ole is not in the loop about what is happening on the transfer front. Ole is trying to remain positive and show a united front for the club compared to similar situation last year that got Mourinho throwing his toys out of the pram.
Also, one point that has been touched extensively when talking about transfers is the fact that irrespective of incomings/outgoings there should be an identity to the footballing style on display. Yesterday, looking beyond the scoreline it can be argued that the first strands of visible coaching and shift in style is appearing. Will this change be fruitful? Does Ole have the nous to fully implement these changes? Does Ole have the backroom staffs to oversee its implementation? Positively achieving a coherent footballing unit will go a long way in the rebuilding process.
I wish Ole success but will Ed help him to achieve this success in the shortest possible time?

Moyes took over an ageing side and LVG signed all the wrong players. Mourinho signed a few wrong players, and alienated the right players he signed.

Tbh, if we get someone like Ben Yedder, I think we’ll have much more chances in the 6 yard box. If you’d saw the Perth game, we’re devoid of a Striker making a darting run to the near post or into the 6 yard box. I said that last season and people didn't like it. Ed didn't veto Jose signings because he didn't like them or has a point nonsense as his supporters claimed, because here we are chasing Maguire again after people told us last season "oh thank feck Ed didn't get Mourinho his wanted Maguire" .
We are just struggling in the current market because we can't adapt to the current over inflation and want to pay with the prices we were paying few years ago. The Glazers don't seem interested in adapting to the current market while most other clubs like Liverpool just accepted it.
This market is more of the same as last summer and the next will probably be the same. Glazers reached the end point of spending on the team I believe. They aren't willing to go over the top like the rest of the clubs challenging for the top which means we are going to stay where we are now for the next few years most probably, 5th or 6th team challenging to get 4th till Glazers finally decide to sell the club for the biggest profit.
This has been a problem at United for a while now. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen balls go begging in the six-yard box because there was nobody in there attacking that space. Lukaku doesn't do it, Rashford doesn't, and I don't know if young Greenwood is that type of player. It's maddening.
Yeah, Lukaku weirdly hangs round the edge of the box, the lazy bastard. The only time I remember Rashford doing it was that winner against Hull. I think Greenwood will be deployed wide at first, but as the forwards interchange he may get some chances there. Issue with him is that he needs to work on his composure. It's bloody infuriating when you see the pass Dan James put in that area and there was absolutely no one there.

One of the big shames regarding Mourinho is how so many members of the fanbase let their dislike of him control them emotionally - like soap opera fans.
They end up squabbling about him rather than simply speaking about what he won and how he was treated as a manager when it came time for the Glazers to make the push for a challenge.
What the Glazers did last Summer should've been the last straw - and I really mean that - even if Mourinho went as well, what they did as owners last Summer should've been their final piss-take.

Mourinho was right to want be backed to go top, but he was also failing in getting most out of his signings and his playing style was shit. I dont consider winning the el while finishing 6th a great achievement.

The problem is that the bar has been set high by Pep and now Klopp. Poch is up there too in England. Ole is a novice among them and from what I have seen at United and the when he was at Cardiff, he is still trying to fight the last world war. Football has moved on a lot since Ole was at OT and coached by SAF. Now it is a different game. The tactics used by SAF is not going to work now and to be honest at the later stage of his career it did not work against foreign top opposition either.
