Sack him. He can blame the players all he wants, sure they're not title challengers but they're not relegation fodder either and that's exactly how he's got them playing.

Klopp finished 8th in his first season, pretty sure most would have been calling for his sacking as well.
Bundesliga winner. UCL & Europa league runner up were in his CV you know. Or are we comparing those to Norwegian league.

Nothing against you mate but you're bad at making analogy.

Always gonna be a legend. But he is out of his depth. He needs to step down while he still can. His failure at Cardiff should be more than telling. Lacks the tactical nous to compete with Guardiola/Klopp/Sarri/Emery/Pochettino.

6 months is enough time to get enough cohesion going to beat rabble like Huddersfield and Cardiff. Instead, we are the ones looking like relegation candidates.

Solskjær won the league in Norway, same, or even stronger league than the Scottish, for the first time in the Molde's history.
Never won a European trophy with them, but did really well in Europe. Not saying they're on the same level, but atleast give him some credit for what he's done as manager..... Opposed of what most Brits seem to think, Cardiff wasn't his only job before United.

We did give him credit, we appointed him temporary manager to lift spirits. We then gave him the job permanently and he’s shown no ability to motivate a team.

Bloody hell lads, give him a chance! He hasn't had a proper transfer window or a full pre-season yet and you already want to sack him.

Its going to be brilliant
I like your confidence. Call me delusional, but I think we will surprise a lot of people next season. Don't underestimate a wounded animal.

People use it as a stick to beat him with, but being a club legend means Ole feels worse about this than most of us -heck he won us the bloody treble! Quite sure he is seething inside and cannot wait to get rid of some players and make sure they work their socks off next season, things he has already mentioned numerous times.

You can't sack a guy before he's even brought in one player. That'd be top of our list of stupid decisions, even above the Moyes fiasco.

So we rather be more stupid and give him £200m to waste more money when he’s shown no sign of progression with his style of football. I think giving him £200m would be the stupid decision.

post match interview

Ole: "The work starts now, everyone has the summer off but we have to come back with a different mentality and different attitude of being a Man United team. The ones who played did well but it was not good enough."

The ones who played did well, he must be fecking kidding. He’s scared of the dressing room, scared of pointing them out. So long for “the survival of the fittest”.

Ole: "It will take some time to close in on the top, we finished five or six points behind third, fourth, fifth and that has to be our aim. The top two teams have set a standard higher than before and we have to take up the next challenge.”

He must be sacked right now, talking about ending in top 5. Good luck attracting top players or prospects with that ambition. Again he can think that, but he shouldn’t say it.

He’s getting support because his legacy as a player, but damn this is worst than Moyes. This is the worst United team I’ve ever seen.

I can’t fault him for trying to be a bit positive in front of the cameras. The constant negativity under Mourinho really ate away at me, so I’m never going to be a hypocrite and say that I wish Ole would get angry in front of the cameras, because I don’t. Pretty sure behind the scenes he isn’t pleased and doesn’t actually think that this performance was good, but that’s where it’s meant to stay, behind the scenes. You’re meant to put up a united front for the cameras, and deal with your matters behind the scenes. Getting angry and throwing your team under the bus in interviews does nothing positive for anyone.

Starting to have some real doubts about Ole, had nothing to lose today and should have played a lot more youngsters in my opinion. My heart sank when I saw Smalling and Jones together at CB. The Valencia sub at 2-0 down was shameful too.

Genuinely starting to wonder if he has the bottle and enough upstairs to make the right decisions about a lot of these players who he seems a bit to pally with.

Still think the biggest problem is the structure of the club and that idiot Woodward running everything though.

For all those calling for him to get the sack because of the challenging for top 4 quote. In what world are you guys living in if you think we are anywhere near challenging for the title. We are no where near it. Absolutely no where near it whatsoever.

The amount of entitled fans that are here is crazy. We are Manchester United. Yes. But we aren't good enough anymore. Not good enough at all, the quicker people realise that and lower their expectactions for 2-3 years then we may just get somewhere. A whole re-build does not mean instant success. It's taken Liverpool a good few years to where they are now. Maybe it's time we lower expectations for a while.

He makes the point that if we got Klopp when Fergie left and he took us to 8th, would you be calling for his head? He would of been sacked. The point is we need patience and we as fans are acting like spoilt little twats, calling for a managers head because it has gotten a bit ugly

Presumably stamp an "identity" on a group of players he didn't assemble, who are literally not fit for the purpose, any number of whom might be on their way out the door.

Easy.

To show an identity its not hard, it can either work out or not but the identity reflects. Ole’s identity is to park the bus and counterattack.

People defending Ole with the shitty results against championship level opponents and justifying it because he hasn’t had a transfer window. Ffs that’s as blind as you can get.

Still people think that the manager is the main reason we're not winning football matches.:wenger:

As much as the majority of us want to back Ole and want him to succeed, I feel the club have to sack him.

As great as those first couple of months and PSG were, they now seem like an anomaly, not a sustained improvement. Results have flatlined since. I could forgive that if I saw some sort of evolution and progression in the style and tactics of our football but possibly the most damning indictment of Ole is that after 5 months at the helm I still couldn't tell you what Ole's style or approach is.

The reality is that even if we appointed the right manager tomorrow, we are probably at least a couple of years behind City, Liverpool and possibly Spurs. The job needing doing at Utd is massive. There is nothing about Ole's past, except for one 2 month period, that suggests he is the right man for this job. He has done nothing in terms of introducing a new system or tactics which suggest he is the right man for the job.
Even if we were willing to go out and spend a record amount of money this summer on players, and they were willing to join us, it would be no quick fix. The Board would be mad to let Ole oversee a rebuild that is going to take years and cost so much.
I don't know who the right man is for the job but I am now convinced it is not OGS.

Hate to say this but after listening to his post match comments from that match. He should just walk away and resign.

Got the job based on honeymoon period and a very lucky win v PSG. (I know we all got excited)

Were shocking. Job is too big for him I think. How can you say that the players that played today done well, we just got beaten by Cardiff City relegated from premier league and at old Trafford. Weak mentality some of things he says. He hasn't even got us playing a certain style off football that we can look forward to with the right recruitment. If I could see something positive from that 5 months in style of play then yes I'd say back but this is not going to end well for the club and next season. I hope I'm wrong though.

Amazing. We lose 2-0 at home to Cardiff who have been relegated and someone tries to spin it off as the stats weren’t that bad. fecking hell.

The lack of progress is the annoying thing. Also that it feels like he don't really know how to take us to the next level.

He was ruthless with Fellaini "who I think was miles better than many players we have now", yet he only picked on him. He did that to score points at the vast majority of the fans that hate Fellaini. I can't trust him as a manager.

If only he was that ruthless in getting rid of Young, Smalling and Jones.

Agree completely.

It’s like in his head he said “Smallsy and Jonesy are solid Man United players I can trust them to keep a clean sheet”

It’s alarming

One part of me want to wait and see what he's gonna do in the market, as I think he knows what players we should be getting.

The other part of me wants to skip fast forward to the next manager.

We need to look long term - Let's try and sign young big talents who could also work well for the next manager's system. As long as Ole does this, and clears up our deadwood, I'm on his side.

It was strange, like him or not he has a very strong character and belief. He took much criticism and got through it. We have many sulkers in our squad who can't be talked to.

you don't get time in today's football. they may resort to a more experienced manager again... for transfers

But the point was made with Klopp and Liverpool, which shows they did exactly what you saying you don't get in todays football. They gave him time.

yeah but there's a much higher demand at united. they are that used to fergie success in recent times

If he hadn't been given the job when he had, and we'd left it until now to decide, we wouldn't even be considering him for the long term.

We could have used this season to find a proper full time manager to take us into next season. But instead we bought into the short-term success of Ole, symptomatic of how this club has been handled for almost a decade.

Now we're with Ole, there's no point in sacking him. It would simply waste valuable time/money/resources and effort in a summer where the team needs to seriously go under the knife.

Get the right characters and quality in playing for us and assess Ole then. I doubt he's the right fit for our manager, but there are more glaring issues right now.

If he’s angry behind scene as you say then he’s a master of controlling his emotions. Never in my life I’ve seen anyone that calm if he’s really angry. There’s a line between not throwing your players under the bus and saying they played well...

Right now I get the impression that he is just looking after his job, he knows he is out of his depth and it’s just trying to survive until the season starts. Lame as feck.

If Klopp showed signs of our football changing as it was terrible during Fergies last few years then he would have got time. Let’s not forget Klopp reached the champions league final that year. Klopp has a better CV and better reputation than Ole. So it’s fair he’d be given more time. Nobody knows what Ole is going to do, so why should we trust him with spending a large amount of money for only us to reset in 12 months again.

Still people think that the manager is the main reason we're not winning football matches.:wenger:
tbh I dunno anymore. When Ole came in we were playing brilliant and scoring a lot of goals. Everyone were saying things like, "so we can play after all" and "turns out we aren't half bad and have decent players". So what has happened? How can players play like that, then down tools? Is it not the managers job to motivate?

Rodney jack but he’s not the only one and I feel for him he’s out of his depth.

Should have kept Mourinho then? Would have been cheaper too.
No because the board were never going to back him so something had to change. You will find posts from me saying i expected no better from these players regardless of manager though. Look at the 11 today and try tell yourself it's even top half quality.

Yes I think you can be upset with the overall performance. Blame yourself and the collective performances of the team. Talk about what you think is needed to improve things in the future and not really focus on single players.
