Only way we can save face from this scenario is if he resigns and Woodward takes the full blame and goes with him.

As long as you can accept criticism of Lukaku and don't scurry to defend him at every opportunity

Yeah and we probably win with Lukaku up front instead of Rashford. Lukaku helped us finish 2nd last year and is our best forward. Deal with it.

We had the perfect scenario where we could have decided his fate in the summer. But as usual the directors, including the legends, rushed it and now we're stuck with a dud for a manager.

Nah, this is the through process Woodward was talking about.

Why are people blaming Ole for this shambles when the same set of players performed equally as bad (or worse) under Mourinho?

LVG and Jose are solely accountable for the state of this squad. They identified and signed off on these players.

You would have to be completely out of your mind to hold Ole responsible in any way shape or form.

Lunacy.

So what do you do then ? Sell every player ? . Whole point of management is to get the best out of your players . With so much on the line Ole couldn't get his players to beat an already relegated team and yet it's lunacy to blame him ?

We need to sack him, as much as I like Ole it’s becoming clearer and clearer that the first results where just a rebound effect (who would have thought?).

We need a total rebuild, and it’s clear that Ole is not the right man for it. Players don’t respect him, he doesn’t have the authority nor the prestige to run a squad like this.

If we don’t sack him in the summer, we’ll do it in december or next year after another failing season.

Doesn't mean we should put rose tinted glasses on and pretend it's fine. It's not fine. We got a clueless manager, mediocre squad and we will inevitably waste another £100m or so during the summer and then Ole will eventually get sacked next season.

What's your solution ? Sack yet another manager and start afresh, until the next manager loses a few games and we come full circle ?

Want to see him make it but dont think he will last much longer. Ed Woodward has to go too if Ole goes.

The real question is why did the board not wait till the end of the season before hiring him? There was 0 pressure to hire him as he was an interim boss and 0 competition.

Since SAF the only sensible appointment has been Mourinho and that was done way too late. He should have been in immediately and then the likes of Diego Costa, Fabregas and Willian would have ended up at Old Trafford together with a couple of league titles. Moyes was a gamble, Van Gaal was a joke, you got a broken down Mourinho and then finished off with rookie Ole. Awful appointments simple as.

We didn't wait because the search for 'correct' manager this time was crucial, one we couldn't get wrong. Given our list of managerial appointments, Ed was under pressure to get this one right. But guess what, the fans made that choice for him. Ole's great start meant he didn't have to do the hard job of searching for a manager. Fans had made that call and he duly obliged.

We'll waste another season and couple hundred millions, but still be no better off.

Any calls for him to resign/get sacked is just silly really. Give him the summer and be disappointed if we don't look sharper come August (or July I guess, if we end sixth). Then, and only then, criticism towards his appointed role would be in its place.

We didn't want to wait because once again it was an easy/cheaper option. Fans were riding the wave and wanted him in the hot seat, the clueless Ed duly obliged. Mainly to absolve himself of doing the difficult task of actually searching for the right man for the job.

Yup and he knows most people will find it very difficult to turn on Ole. Which is true, even for me, its a shame hes gotten himself tangled up in this garbage.

Ole won Norwegian league. I've heard the league is very competitive, so much that they have to fill teams with bunch of factory workers there.
Ole still got this, don't worry lads. Next year is our year for sure.

This task is too big for him. Woodward needs to sack him and see if we can get Erik Ten Hag If Pochettino is not available. I have made my assessment, of Ole and if he stays and proves me wrong, I will love it. However, I can’t see it. He has no footballing philosophy or gameplan. I fear he might even be worse than Moyes. The only advantage Ole has is that we will not be able to attract top players and we will be in Europa League. He can start fresh without no expectation next season, our standard has drop that low.
Seriously? Ten Hag? Based on Ajax's Champions League campaign... You do realise Overmars and Van Der Sar put that team together.

We signed Pogba last time we were in the EL so we'll be fine regardless. Ten Hag isn't exactly going to have the worlds best players lining up to join United.

Because we have the most clueless board out there and it was easy to give it to Ole. Boost for the fans, Ole won't demand huge amounts of money to spend and won't shake the boat. Poch or any other top manager would make huge demands

It has been like this since SAF left. Its pathetic to blame every manager we had since SAF. The culture need to change. We need to get rid of a lot of players imo.

The only common thread during our post-Fergie mediocrity has been the presence of Woodward. He needs to go and we need a proper DOF.

It was just so reactive giving Ole the job when we did. While we had done well there was always the chance our form would go to shit, get knocked out comfortably in the next round of the CL and still finish 6th.

What's done is done and we should see how the summer goes and give him a chance next season, but I don't have a great deal of confidence in him. Past few weeks we've looked clueless. You can't manage a team off the new manager bounce forever.

How about when he's had an actual summer to make some changes he wants to make? I don't think people realise just how fecking difficult it is to make any meaningful change when you're thrown into a situation like he was back in November. IF we've made some major recruitment in the summer and we're playing like this closer to Christmas then we need to start asking serious questions but if we haven't appointed a DOF it's pointless sacking him anyway, we'll just be back at square one again with a new manager who doesn't fancy any of the players he has.
What makes you think he's going to buy the right players though?

His strength was supposed to be motivation, the way he got players to play for him and buy into his approach. If he can't even do that, why should we believe he can do anything else properly?

United are going no where with this man and you are deluded if you think otherwise. He is not fit for this level and though a legend has no business being at the helm of United.

If they stick with him next season is over before it started.

Doesn't mean the managers are good enough though. Moyes was a disaster, LVG past it and Jose, well was Jose. Ole atm doesn't look like the right fit, despite the team needs a rebuild

I think he will fix the club. Its going to be a exciting summer imo. Lots of work to do.

Because it's not one or two players. It's a team problem. Even when Mourinho was around we regularly ran a lot less than who ever we were facing. For whatever reason, the team entered the season lacking in this department. It's a coaching issue.

It's the players responsibility to be fit. Guardiola even said "I'm not their dad" when talking about some of his players. No one needs to tell a pro getting 100k pw to be in shape. The standards have fallen so far we even excuse the players for being unfit.

Woodwork twice, couple of chances missed by Jones, Rashford, Pogba and Mata, etc and great saves. Rashford can't lead the line and think he's Ronaldo doing heel back pass, I hope you realize how important Lukaku is to us when leading the line, he'd hold the ball longer while our team push higher.

We need RVP style who can lead the line.

If the players don't care then why should Utd fans. My MUTV subscription cancelled and my trips to Old Trafford will now cease. Glazers set out a path to suck every penny out of club by commercialising us to death and making the football secondary.

Not another penny will now be spent on that decaying club.

Just like he's doing at Tottenham. Holding Levy ransom...

Will be a big risk to continue with him. But sacking him several weeks after giving him a contract would make the board a laughing stock. Shouldn't be a problem as they are already one.

He doesnt have a playing style. I have nothing against him but we need to sack him and get a coach who plays offensive. Erik ten Hag should be hired with Van der Saar as DF

I hope Ole is the type who works miracles because thats what we need to even compete for top 4 next season and yes that should be the target for next season. Scousers and City are miles ahead of us while Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea are not at their level they are certainly ahead of us right now.

Unfortunately with our track record in the transfer for the past six seasons (arguably even before that) is an absolute joke. Not sure what to look forward to next season.
