The frustrating thing is that all Ole needs to do is to hire some top classes coaches and let them work on the team. He doesn't have to do it ALL himself. Get a Meulensteen, Quieroz or whoever, to fill in the deficiencies in his own coaching and give him the confidence to try different formations in games. Is Eric Ramsay the one? I feel again we are taking a punt on a young, relatively unproven coach instead of someone who's been part of title winning teams.

His man-management and squad building is great, and most importantly he understands the club ethos. I think he's actually a good manager, but a not-so good coach. So, just hire better, more experienced coaches to work for him!
Slowly this is becoming 2021/2022 main excuse. "He needs new coaches".
We bought him every single player (most of them world class). Now we need to buy him new coaches. So...for what exactly we need him? For good mood? Damn, we should rather hire world class manager and give Ole good mood coach role.

I propose a new manager every 2 years. Let's just chuck our lot in with Chelsea and City. That's modern football so let's embrace it. Maybe we can all wear the same jerseys.
:wenger: Nobody is saying to change managers with no reason. The club of our stature should not go 4 years without a trophy though especially as we are always amongst the top spenders. Other top clubs would have probably sacked their managers for crashing out of CL groups alone, meanwhile we are completely fine underperforming and some of our fans are even in a complete support of it. We have all the resources to be winning major trophies but we choose not to. We have let many good managers join other clubs while we were busy blindly trusting the process which leads absolutely nowhere.

Pep’s been at City for 5 years and counting. Klopp’s at Liverpool even longer. You don’t need to change managers every two years if you hire a world class manager. We should try it.

Of course it is.

Our fans mock Real Madrid for their coaching carousel and circus.

But they are the most successful club side ever.

That should tell you everything.
I think we are just a little outdated as a club. From the stadium right through to the fans. I hear that “oh no not Conte he’ll leave within 3 years” like, yeah, so? Having a change of ideas every few years is beneficial to maintaining success nowadays.

I've given up now. He's done some good things and got us back on track but at this point we're just waiting for the inevitable. Whether it's this year or 3 years from now, he's not good enough and we will get rid of him.

The only question is how much time we waste waiting.
This is the unfortunate bit. Ole will get another season if we improve our points tally from last season and make it out of the CL group. Lets be honest when you add Ronaldo, Sancho, and Varane to an already stacked squad in which Greenwood is also maturing it is very hard not to achieve the above goals. We will be waisting next season too.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we do the Roy Evans model. Hire Conte to manage with him.

You need to check you facts before spouting such nonsense fella. pep was at City from 2016.
He started at city 2 years before Ole started at Utd so it hasn’t been a short tenure.

In fact he’s been at City 2 years longer than Ole’s been at Utd and, with the benefit of those extra 2 years, he’s won 4 League Cups, 3 Premier League titles and 1 FA Cup.
I say you should give Ole another 2 years and if he can match Pep’s record then keep him, but I’m guessing that Ole will be sacked before his 5 year badge gets awarded.

PS. Having said that, if any manager has got Pep sussed then it’s Ole for sure - the results don’t lie eh?

We are too embroiled into recreating the old days with Fergie. I honestly think the club want to find another Fergie.

This club gave Moyes a 6 year contract. If LVG was a moderate success(and Jose didn't utterly combust at Chelsea), Giggs likely would have taken over. We hired OGS on the back of a fluky win vs PSG.

We are basically trying to recreate our old success instead of getting with the times.

We think the same for players too. When we buy a player that position is solved for the rest of his career.
When we bought AWB; right back position is solved for next 10 years. After first Rashford's/Greenwood's/Martial's season; "he will brake Rooney's record".
"Lets sell De Gea. He has only 3,4 years in front of him while Henderson has 10".
And so on....

Well, we can say also that if Brighton wins tomorrow, we are out of top 4. Lets talk about table after next 5 or 6 games
That's kinda my point. If it's too early in the season to talk about the table then it's probably too early in the season for people to be this dramatically upset.

Not so if we only had three points and were ten behind, but we've got thirteen so as disappointing as the two games we didn't win were very little has actually happened and a good run in the tougher fixtures ahead would quickly cancel out the two bad results.

The fact that he complained about the Villa goal standing is a bit embarrassing for us as a club.

It is not about table. Problem is that we don't look good. At all. We look the same as we looked when he took over.
We should be dominating weaker teams with this squad. But they dominate us. So what to expect in big six games? Parked bus i guess.

Incorrect. City and Liverpool have been the most consistently successful clubs over the last few years and haven’t changed managers for at least 5 years. You don’t need a change of ideas every few years if you hire a really top class manager. As Manchester United fans we should be more familiar with this concept than most.

But many are mistaking success earn time with giving time to wishful thinking. The key is success. Success may not always be quantified as trophies, but still there need some sort of high standard expectation to drive the team forward.

He’ll need a top class wife at home next, and cannot be judged until she’s settled in with the family.

Haha, new coaches or not, he needs to do better. I don't deny that.

But we have needed better coaches for years. And it's Ole's job to sort that out.

I’d personally be happy to see ole replaced by a top coach but its not going to happen any time soon. no amount of hysteria every time united loose a game will change that.
United are currently joint top of the league and Ole has been backed heavily in the transfer market this summer.
The cafe and gutter press can speculate away on who will replace him but its not on the agenda right now, the team would need to fail to qualify from the knock out stages of CL and be at least mid table… and none of us want to see that - do we????
We aren't joint top

We're only one point off the leaders.

So is Everton… Brighton only two, so what’s your point? It is all about the lack of progress, the lack of attacking patterns, player chemistry, not being able to keep a fecking clean sheet, a whole bunch of things that repeat themselves. We could be top of the table at this point and still say the same things, over 38 games these terrible performances do not amount to winning the league.

Most importantly, as we are fans and not owners, staff, players or part of this club in any capacity, we need to be entertained. A whole lot of the United-games are dull to watch. I hate seeing great players being so inconsistent and dull, they should be serving us excitement three out of four games.

-> Individual brilliance bailing out - Yes

It's not looking good for him, is it? But should still be credited for building a good squad, and continuously improving on results until now. Doesn't at all deserve the amount of disrespect he's getting, as he's built a great foundation for the next manager who comes in. But this season is make or break for Ole, and it does look like he's taken this team as far as he can. Gutted for him to be honest, but no doubt he's given his all.

Also have to comment on posters demanding he resigns, which is such a stupid position it's hard to even get into how retarded it really is. No manager ever resigns by their own free will, and to expect that is just hateful and in bad faith. Should probably be sacked before Christmas (unless performances drastically improve), but it's on the board to make that decision - not on Ole.

The Schedule from now and until december looks like this: Villareal, Everton, Leicester, Atalanta, Liverpool, Spurs, Atalanta, City, Watford, Villareal, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Easy. COME ON OLE!

If results like today continue I hope he will be back in Norway before Christmas.

If we blew a lead to Brentford & drew this place would be up in flames, yes.

If Ole had led us to a PL title & a CL title in the last 3 years, and we blew a lead to Brentford & drew, people would be frustrated with the result, but the manager would not be questioned.

Klopp has plenty of credit in the bank at Liverpool, Ole barely has any at United.

Just like SAF when he came to United. He broke the Glasgow monopoly and won the Cup Winners Cup beating Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. If Ole had won the PL or the CL, this loss would be taken as just one of those games. But under him we have these one of these games too often and we have never won anything under him. Not even the EL Final. He is getting "out tacticed" as Big Sam, would say most of the time. His game management is usually poor. This squad has got a lot of potential under a good coach. He is not a good coach at the top level. Neither is his coaching team.

He has backed himself into a corner. Young Boys, West ham and Villa. All fairly easy fixtures with two of them home games. Now Villareal and Everton at home. Ole's home form has never been good.

I would like a formation change to a back 3 for the next game. Maybe a 5311 or a 532 and drop Bruno to the bench.

This is all fun and true and he shares a lot of the blame, but some of the players need to spend some time on the side and think about their performances.

Barely anyone rose up to the occasion. Might not play well, but they can still show a bit more heart.

How about some buses too? A bendy bus?

Clearly! We just lost a football match and is only joint on the top of the table. Sack him now, before he can bring our top players up to speed after a COVID season end euro championship. Some of you lads are so melodramatic that your left wondering about sanity. How about just being critical of something and see how it goes this season?

We could be top and still wouldn't be good enough because the football is so bad most games, the only exceptions being teams that open up against us like Leeds and sometimes that counter style used against City. I just cannot understand him not getting a coach in who prioritises ball possession because clearly he doesn't at all which is staggering.

I guess it is difficult to rise to the occasion when nothing is working for you.

We're only one point off the leaders.
We've played Leeds, Wolves, Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham and Aston Villa. Those are all games we won last season. We are -5 like for like in terms of games already played compared to last campaign. Not to mention the tumescent performances in all but one of those games.

Ole has done great to fix the culture of our club, but it is clear and has been for a very long time, he does not have the ability to take us to the next level. He should leave on a high, when most the fans adore him still.

At this stage it’s not about being 1 point off 1st or out of the top 4. It’s simply that the same pattern of performances from last seasons are re-emerging.

We lost today, playing badly and being outplayed, but was the performance any difference to when we beat West Ham or Wolves? That’s the biggest concern, we can play rubbish and win most matches and it will hide flaws. But draws and losses will quietly accumulate, just like last season
