Are they? We're going for a win here. Shame we play dreadful football throughout most our games. How have we still no style of football?
Our form is worse - much worse.
We lost to them under Mourinho as well, which tells you all you need to know about this squad. Ole needs to clean house in the summer.
Maybe Solksjaer isn't the correct manager for the job, but I can't think of anyone who'd do better either. What's happening is the result of a decade of mismanagement at the top.
We've a mix n match squad cobbled together from different managers with different philosophies. There had never been a vision of how we want to play or a plan in place to target the correct players for that style. We're a complete mess.

Indeed. Ole taken us from 6th to 6th, massive improvement. Also, currently we are worse than we were before in terms of performances.
It was also much, much better for a long stretch. We need new players in the summer.
Well these players did this to Jose too. Only show any urgency when it’s too late.
Ole's reign has shown the depth of issues at this club and there's no way he'd get the job had the board realised it beforehand. He's a lovely guy and did an excellent job to motivate the squad after Jose left but he's so clearly not the type of person you need for the long-term rebuild of this team.

Let's not forget the positive run Ole took us on. 12 points off 4th to just a few.
His best game was his first game. The game where he allowed the players to play freely to the way they want.
The longer he has stayed & the more time the team has blended with his tactics - the worse the team has got.

The crazy winning run aside, we actually look worse now than we did under Jose.
Once again, he was hired because he looked like an immediate fix to our mess. Great run of form, players putting in big performances. Stars aligned, resulting in a pre-mature hiring. Board and fans alike thought there was no need of a major rebuild, few signings and we'll be okay. But obviously, that doesn't look like the case right now.
The question is, why would you trust a rookie like Ole for a long-term fix? Especially when we no semblance of footballing organisation at the club? It's heading towards an unmitigated disaster and most people deep down know it.
Even Big Sam has a solid run when he takes over mid season. I don't understand how this proves Ole is the right man for the job.
The team/club/fans already wanted a New toy especially by not backing and defending the manager in the summer. Do you think thats a fair representation of Mourinhos work?
You get rid of one of the best tacticians in the history of the game and replace it with someone who started a few years ago you Will need some patience.
Yep...we are basically back to square one as if Ole just took over. He needs to seriously clean house and remove all the dead wood and replenish with proper United players.

Might do more than just cancel that out, as there’s no telling how much of that was just a bounce he had nothing to do with. At the very least a handful of those first games fall in that category.
What really pisses me off is he actually keeps saying he has a great bunch of players. They're so bad they don't even deserve a media lie to protect them.
Yes, just like Leicester's form was much, much better under Craig Shakespeare for a time, and Chelsea won the CL under Di Matteo. Unfortunately the fact that that good form was a) less recent than the bad form, and b) during the honeymoon period that almost all managers experience (the likes of Sam Allardyce has pretty much forged a career from it) and c) largely against teams we would have been expected to beat means that it is hard to give it equal weighting to the run of form that we are currently in.
Should he just resign and save the club the money from sacking him? If he loves the club....

Coupled with the fact that a lot of those games were easy teams. The games we won that were against difficult sides, we actually deserved to get thumped in Spurs, PSG etc. Maybe Arsenal we deserved (FA Cup). That's about it.

The club has decided he's the right man and we're not going to be making a kneejerk change because he couldn't finish 4th after starting 12 points off. He's not going anywhere so its a good idea to get behind him.

One thing I do think you can criticise Ole for is being unable to inspire the team after a few bad defeats.
This happens sometimes and you grind out an ugly win to get on with normal service. It's really odd that he's been unable to achieve it.

Problem is, he won't. I don't think he plans to dismantle this squad completely. It would be a pleasant surprise if he did, but the lack of recruitment and structure points more towards 4 players in at best. It won't do anything material.
Looks like Ince was right. You can talk about how awful the players are but as soon as the feel good factor was gone so was him
