Even if we had won 2-1 today i would have said it was a poor performance.

If Guardiola was coaching us today, we would have won three or four nil.

We are not coached at all to attack.

The warning signs were there earlier in the season, winning games by one goal and so on.

Interestingly enough Van Gaal said early in to Oles tenure that he was not much different from Mourinho. Given how impotent our attacking play is, you would swear it was Mourinho coaching us today.

Without the bruno magic we loss that game without laying a glove on west brom. There is no defending the terrible performances recently and it's becoming increasingly clear that a new man is needed next season.

It was a ridiculous comment then, and it's even worse now.

I'd like to see him effing and blinding about the decision not to award us a freekick on their goal today, instead of accepting it like our defenders seemed to do when it happened.

We only get a new manager if we drop out the top four. Shame it has to be an either-or situation. A sensibly run club would say thanks to Ole for doing a great job as a bridging manager.

A new man, and a coaching staff, is needed but who ?

Poch is gone, Tuchel as well, Rose will go to Dortmund most likely and Nagelsmann will stay. You have to hire a manager when they are available and make a bold decision. We always wait and are passive, like the players.

We will end up with Allegri. He's a good manager, but it's another defensive manager.

I still feel that we need to see what we can do under Ole with a DM, CB and RW. Today was a poor one though.
I think we can extrapolate from what he have seen so far. With a good CB and DM, yes we will concede fewer. With a good RW we will score a bit more. But we will still play the same disjointed football. We will still rely on moments, counter attack and individual brilliance. Sure we will have more of these moments and individual brilliance but I don't think it will be enough to beat Pep or Liverpool when they get their act together.

Ole’s done ok on balance (and better than I thought he would) but I just don’t see United getting back to the top with him, no matter how much money we throw at it. One point from games against Sheff Utd and WBA is terrible, no matter whether we got the rough end of refereeing decisions. It’s now 6 points from the last 5 relatively easy fixtures.

I fear finishing somewhere like 3rd or 4th is as good as it gets with him. He really needs to be bankrolled by the board to make progression beyond that, like he literally gets his number one targets.

And I don’t think the cycle of do well for 10 games then do mediocre for 10 games is the sign of a manager who‘ll win things.

I said it before we went out of the CL in that he’s the guy who lays the tracks for the next guy to run the train over and take us to the next level. OGS is by no means some managerial novice like Lampard or Arteta. He’s been managing as long as Guardiola has.

Transitional manager and the transitioning is done now. Need a accomplished manager to come in and take this team forward now. We can’t afford to waste Bruno’s prime.

'We won't let Man City run away with it' - Solskjaer

Yeah it's easy to say shit like that Ole. We need a bit more substance and less words.

I'm tired of the 'We go again next week' and 'We let the fans down we know we're sorry' generic vanilla statements because they get boring after 7 years.

Weak as piss.

Honestly, I cant see him sticking around if we have another underwhelming window. Arguably you could also make a case for him weighing up his options if we fail to get top 4 this season.

Yeah right. And when we play well its well done Ole. That squad is more than good enough to beat West Brom’s squad, keep coming up with excuses for our manager.

Facts Solskjaer cannot have it both ways. Ole said that we aren't contending for the league so in my eyes he's looking for a 3rd / 4th position. Fans saying he doesn't want to put pressure on the players, tell me this, does he stay employed if we finish outside top 4 ? Seems that conversation has backfired with recent results. When we were top of the league the consideration should have been to keep all options open, not demoralise the team by suggesting they aren't capable of achieving more.

If we are playing for 4th position or contending for the league both require pressure but top four is certainly more of a burden because the managers job is on the line. Solskjaer should have been more positive regarding his response in the interviews.

Hard to disagree with this take. That’s why Chelsea are now breathing down our neck.

And it will be another wrong appointment. Allegri will want new players and probably the likes of Diallo may never be integrated. Poch was my best bet, at least football wise he would know how to build on this. Allegri is a good coach but we don't need him.

I think his future is dependent on how ambitious the owners are, which makes him safe as long as he can deliver a top 4 finish and an occasional cup win.

Remains to be seen if he can take the team any further. Will be an interesting summer.

Think the standard of players we now need to move even further would like Ole, but not respect his ability as a manager. The business with Martial, I believe Ole is trying to build his confidence, but in fact is making things ten times worse for him. I worry about the abuse he will be getting tonight. If he had a top notch, experienced coaching team with him it might help, but it is like the blind leading the blind.

I'm still backing Ole and he's done a good job overall. If we have a good summer transfer period though, I'm going to be more critical of his performance next season.
If he doesn't do well next season then Brendan Rodgers is the only man to replace him imo though I really want Ole to be a success.

Not good enough to manage a gigantic club like united. Managing amateurs in the Norwegian league is not like managing at the biggest club in England.

4th 1st or treble final doesnt matter.

You go against wba. You push for the jugular.

Does it mean that it we aim for top 4 we took our foot of the pedal?

Would not blame him too much for getting his face torn off, but isnt Baily injured?

Either way, if he starts Greenwood on the bench next game while the two jokers keep stinking the place up hes daft. Either that or they are great in training

At some point training ground performances have to go out of the window.

Bailly been on bench past couple of games right?

I think Ole made a few mistakes today. All coaches do, but it was a bad day at the office.

With hindsight, I would have played James and Greenwood from the start and probably Matic in midfield. (Might have gone even worse of course.)

I don’t like bashing Donny as he is not up to speed yet but I’m not sure what Ole was thinking to put him on and push him up against the WBA giants. I thought I saw Ole trying to get him to drop into midfield but assuming I’m wrong about that, Donny was totally the wrong move at that point.

Result is all on him.

I'm a fecking idiot and even I knew we needed physicality against West Brom. What does he do? He plays the weakest centre back in the Premier League who gets caught out because he is so piss fecking weak.

Absolutely, if we are aiming to contend for the league the players would have had more urgency to perform. The reason why this is important is because we have a considerably better squad than WBA so the significance of 'insert surname' playing for us has little to no credibility.

It's the mentality that is the only differentiation in our more recent results we have not been outclassed the players are playing with no intensity. There's also the fact that Solskjaer despite being here for 24 months still has no identity for the starting 11 but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

As it stands irrespective of what might or might not have happened if Ole can't motivate this team to turn around performances he's jobless at the end of the season.

I think he has taken our current squad as far as he can. Let's see whether we seriously strengthen in the summer, otherwise hoping for anything more than top 4 next season will be ambitious.
