What's the point of comparing what position we would be in previous seasons with current point tally? The difficultly of the season is relative to that season and not outside it. We would have won titles with a lower point tally that would probably only put us at 4th or 3rd in some other season. That doesn't mean we didn't deserve the title the season we won it. Point tally is always relative to the current season only.
No point, just like no point comparing Ole with Klopp or SAF.

He's easily the worst manager in the league and probably the worst in our history. Worst thing about is that i'm starting to dislike him which i never thought would be possible.
No need to dislike him. He's not going to sack himself.

As much as I want him gone, I feel he is here to stay at least till the summer. I really hope we somehow scrap the top 4 but then the board will be fooled to hiring him. Anyways it is February so just three more months of this.

You never know. Half of the fanbase seems deluded enough for Ed to continue with the comedy show for the next season as well.

In a weird way, all our injuries and the poor quality of the league from 3rd down has clouded matters.
The board will probably think we’re still in touching distance of 4th despite all our injuries and see it as good work.
I think Ole deserves to be backed but Pochetinno being free is an opportunity I don’t think we should miss.
Maybe ole could be moved into the recruitment side of things.

Blaming the fans is the last thing we all should be doing. ED is the CEO not the fans. If it were to the fans even Jose would not have been sacked. Fans will back the manager because the match going fans have realised the problem is beyond the manager now. The deluded ones are those who think sack the manager and all will be rosy.

Without significant pressure from the fans nothing will change either. Keeping up with Ole signals the lack of ambitions from the owners and the CEO - what you also said. If the fans are content with mediocrity, why wouldn't the Glazers clock profit and serve this shit year after year? It's not like Tampa Bay isn't a good example of it.

No top club in the world would've kept Ole till this point - not a single one. Neither the fanbase would have stood to these lows without rioting.

The main culprit in wrong appointments is of course the board and CEO, however the main culprit in the way we play and digress every week is on Ole and the coaching team.

We could have Xavi and Iniesta in midfield and Ole will play counter attacking football.
That's the only thing he knows. He is still in living in the 90s.
If we are to recover he needs to be sacked ASAP.
Yes there are problems with the club but The Owners are not going to go away and they are not going to sack Woodward. So the only change possible is to change the manager.
These Old in people needs to get a dosage of reality.

I agree with what you say and this why when the likes of Simon stone and others criticised match going fans for the chants against Woodward and called the criticism was overboard I found it funny. Yes the chants can be altered but no way is the criticism towards the board over exaggerated. In fact, our fans are the most patient one's for a big club.

Thing is if Ole is to be sacked today there will not be a major uproar from United fans. yes there will be some who will say Ole has been hard done by but they will not create a revolt in Old trafford saying why was Ole sacked. Let us not forget the match going fans stuck by Jose till the end. Heck most even love him today, that's how our match going fans are. But when Jose was sacked there wasn't a huge criticism from the fans. Point is ultimately the board has to take the decision. Saying the fans did not revolt more against Ole so Ed is not sacking him doesn't make sense.

I'd be careful here man, wouldn't be surprised if you get a warning or thread-ban for this. I'll give it a read though.

How/why could I get thread banned for asking a question? I'm a staunch Ole in, I'm certainly not using it as ammo against him. But it's very concerning if true and should be something which is considered given he is our manager? I'd like more information on it from our resident Norwegians, rather than taking some random Twitter guy's word for it.

EDIT: @Samid @Catt, do you guys know anything about this?

I’ll be behind Ole while he’s here obviously but I’ve just taken one look at our remaining fixtures...

Apart from the cups we are done for the season. He needs to leave in the summer. The club just can not afford to carry him and the coaches any longer.

The experiment hasn’t worked at all.

No idea where this came from, but is there even a reputable source, other that twitter and Wiki that can confirm any of this? If not, then it is very wild accusations to throw around without any creedence just to discredit Ole as a human being. Now if this is true, I am all for having a change of heart on Ole as a person, just like I have as a manager, but accusations based of a twitter profile and a public edited wiki page os by far not enough evodence for such a wild claim, no?

Edit. 1 minute of research shows Ole was United manager at the time said contract was terminated? :wenger: the levels the fans will steep to!

If he is here next season we are a joke
I reckon March will see us hit rock bottom.

1st March Everton (a)
3rd March FA Cup (a)
8th March Man City (h)
15th March Spurs (a)

Thing is, Ole's ok at the bigger games because he's ok to get a result by any means necessary...

I think from Everton, City and Spuds he'll take 4 points from the available 9, and if anything it'll be viewed as (yet another) corner turned.

It's the games he should win, that his managerial short-comings become painfully obvious.

Also think he'll get to the semis / final of the FA Cup.

Nah rock bottom is losing 0-2 at home to Burnley. Against those opponents Ole will just revert back to countering with the 5-3-2 tactic. Without Rashford it is going to be a bit harder to score though.

When United released the ‘training video’ of Bruno yesterday, and it was basically keepy-uppies between the keepers and a big game of pig in the middle with the first teamers - I knew that we did feck all in training.

The players aren’t coached, and have to rely on improvisation - which is great when you have a Rashford or a Pogba in the side who can provide individual brilliance.

Without that, we’re relying on doing the same thing over & over and expecting a different result.

 The part in bold must be a joke, surely.

When everyone is fit, I'd take this team over most in the league.

This is a good line up and with good coaching I’m sure we can be up there just below Liverpool and City. Next step will be to upgrade Lindelöf, Shaw, McTominay and Martial.

Victor and Scott are both loyal and honest hard working squad material, similar to JOS, PhilN, 3lungs, Fletcher (in his younger days) and other low profile ”heroes” we have had over the years.

Let‘s say that we can afford a proper DM and a right sided goal scoring machine in the summer and suddenly our starting line up looks quite good. This and a new manager and I’m more then satisfied.

Yep. We’ve been pretty bad most of the season and actually worse then our current stats show because other top teams have also had a rough season against the mid and lower table teams and because we’ve not played much top talent in the tournies save city in the carabao cup and we know how that turned out. Soon though we are likely to be out of the other tournaments and drop to 7th or 8th. Then the tide will most certainly turn against ole. I think we will finish without any silverware and in 7th place. He will then be replaced this summer. Seems rather inevitable. If we were going to find any consistent form we’d have already found it.

Unfortunately not my friend.

2 mins of pig in the middle, keepy-uppies and run around the sticks & put the ball in a bin :wenger:

You do realise that the media is only allowed access to practice for the first part, which is roughly 20 minutes or something and this has been the case pretty much all along? It's what we do for warming up and there's nothing wrong with it. Our social media team isn't going to put out anything that's different, because quite clearly most English teams are secretive, when it comes to that.

This. I was just about to type virtually the exact same thing.

They're not exactly gonna put up a 1 hour video of us training so that Wolves could take a look and see what we had planned.

That's hardly a full training session. Plus, I don't think the club is that stupid to release footage of a full training session before the game or anything other than some simple warm-up exercises.

Furthermore, I don't know how someone can come to the conclusion that "players aren't coached" just by watching 2 minutes of players' training.

When it fits the idea in their head it doesn't matter.

Exactly. Remember the Bielsa incident from last year?

Obviously we do all the tactical work when its being recorded and shown for everyone.. genius.

I think points tally is a pretty indicator about how you are doing. Like Liverpool finishing 2nd place with 97 points last season is much different to us finishing with 81 points with Jose in terms of viewing where we are headed. There is no 2nd place trophy but that doesn't mean that Liverpool were not outstanding in league last season. The fact that we are only 5 points from 14th place is also a pretty good indicator about how average and poor we are this season.

How about 90 minute games.
