Official: Phil Jones will leave United at the end of the season

He's got a Premier League, FA Cup and Europa winners medal, financially set up for the rest of his life and he can choose to retire at 31 if he wishes. Meanwhile, the guy who sucker slapped him is, if he's lucky, working a shite and boring job for another 36 years before picking up a crap pension?

If anything that video represents someone who is doing nothing wrong yet still gets the shit end of the stick. So maybe it does represent his career somewhat.

Haven't seen that way but agree!

The send off this guy is getting from fans compared to De Gea is a joke.

Surely this leads to Rapha getting his shirt and Mount will then take Rapha's number

Tomorrow someone in their right frame of mind would name drop him as a legend, you just watch.

Wish him well. No matter what, he had some good and memorable moments at United. Injuries and a lack of consistent game time ultimately lead to him becoming a bit of a meme but he's still lived the dream and also seems like a good lad.

Can't wait to find out from the caf why this is a terrible idea.

Is he going to be teaching them the scuttling penalty-box header move?

Sure he's going to actually do OK, but it is funny considering his career here..

United looking after him when he's clearly been through a lot is something to be proud of isn't it?

In the grand scheme of things, it's a drop in the ocean financially and will help give him a foothold back in the game.

I thought it was pretty obvious he was never going to play again, even at a lower level. His knee issues sounded very similar to what Ledley King had, where any movement resulted in bone grinding against bone and even walking was extremely painful as a result.

Happy for him that he's found a new path forward, hopefully he will develop an aptitude for it and the kids benefit from working with him.

Job for the boys

Mates&Vibe Shirt sponsor
Dances Highlight and Tiktok compilation

Professional organisation this one, not jobs for the boys at all.

Hopefully he can find some happiness in the role and good on the club for giving him that opportunity.

I'd agree but shouldn't we be thinking about the best coaching for the U18s over looking after a former employee?

He could be a great coach but chances are there's someone more qualified and deserving.

More charity work from the club after the re-signing of Evans.

Also keep in mind this may be something he's been doing in an unofficial capacity for a while, given that he hadn't been able to play.

I have no comment on his coaching ability, but Jones looked a much better footballer the last time he played in a competitive match than Maguire has the last three seasons.
