ODI Sheep draft time?

Yup as a batsman its a worthy pick. I'm ready to bet he'll be shoehorned in as a keeper though.

Why not? He has the record number of dismissals?

Edit - that's ODI but still he has decent stats for WK in tests

I'll just say it. Some shocking picks - Anderson? Sangakarra (if he is playing as a WK). AbD if he is playing as a WK
Sangakarra ? Shocking ?One of the few wicketkeepers in history of test match cricket with a triple century to his name ? Yes, shocking indeed.

@ChrisNelson how long have you been watching cricket? Your picks have been interesting.

My first match live was in 1994 I think, been a Derbyshire fan all my life and go to a lot of matches, also internationals although not so much the last 5 years or so.
I am familiar with a lot of the players from previous generations but wanted to get in early and snap up one of the great Test batsmen of my lifetime (along with Tendulkar in particular) and possibly England's greatest bowler of them all. My next pick will probably be a bit more retro!

Thoughts on Chesney Hughes?

Thoughts on Chesney Hughes?

A difficult question. How frustrating! When he came on to the scene we really thought we'd found a gem, someone who could go on and propel us to a limited overs trophy.
But each time he seems to be gaining momentum he seems to fade again. His averages are not where they should be at this stage of his career, especially considering his magnificent 270 at Headingley 3 years ago during our ill fated season in Div 1. He's one of those players that we can't afford to be rid of because we are so short on quality, but he really needs to move on now at the age of 25 and start winning us matches. One thing I would say, he's a better fielder than you would think for someone of his size, took an incredible catch in front of us against Leicestershire in the T20 a couple of weeks ago!

Anderson is probably the best English bowler of all time.

You can't count it if you play him as a WK. Bluntly. Gilchrist (who I would have taken if he was there) was the best WK pick in the draft

Yeah, Sanga is an excellent pick. AbD can be questioned (His record as WK is actually good, though sample size and all) and so can Anderson (He sometimes gets too much hate though but is easily one of the best England has produced), but Sanga is definitely up there as one of the best.

Compare him to the quicks left unpicked. Anyway, I have to run to work

Can still pick up other quicks and have Anderson in reserve in case his match is in English swinging conditions. As deadly as can be in those conditions.

@Raees

I'm genuinely curious about the Gavaskar pick. Surely there are better batsman still around?

Average of 50 as opener in an era of fast bowling paradise. Relatively weak team mates. He did really well against the West Indies pace attack which counts a lot. He'll have an excellent write up and is the pick of the openers arguably.

Garner is such a great pick. Was hoping he would survive, but that was never going to happen.
