Nostalgia Draft - Winner - Isotope

Glad to see him picked. Thrived at that concentration test of getting called upon to make one crunch save in a game. Respectful to the fans too as I can testify having sat right behind the goals for much of his spell with the club. At one stage we were spending so much money that we had 3 international class goalkeepers on the books in Klos, Niemi and Charbonnier, with McGregor (who's still playing) coming through for the under-21s. No wonder we went bust.
yeah I've always remembered him as a nice guy and very dependable keeper. Ended up with a great career at Rangers and generally humble character.

Ffs, I really counted on @Gio ’s vote with Gio & Brian in my side  When do you wanna play?

Also, Litmanen’s gone! He was my favorite part of that set up.

Interesting. Thought he wasn't too shabby at Inter, regardless of his peak.
Sosa in 88-92 form was Top 5 in the world in my book, an unstoppable force of nature that could win a game all by himself if he felt like it. At Inter he was more like Recoba, had it in him but could rarely be arsed. It didn't help he and Bergkamp hated each other's guts.

Sorry, was watching the game. Both received big hits with these injuries, but at least the white Brazilian would get an outing.

How does Thursday sound Wed is a bit tight for me?
Turn 7 is likely to have hit most a fair bit, haven't checked but off the top of my head it's probably just @Šjor Bepo having a laugh.

Thursday afternoon works for me, big meeting until about 3PM UK time but easy thereafter.

I can't believe I will have to play Andreas feckin Möller by the look of things. Like most punchable face ever, although young Haaland has potential to beat that which is quite an achievement.

Oh well, maybe Sharkie loves him.

I actually had him as a very good pick I DIDN'T want to make. Been there, done it, doesn't work. He is a little gobshite and nobody likes him.

Maybe you can talk @Borisdelafora into trading him for Hässler.

@BlackShark_80 we can settle this politely.

15 feckin matches?? And am not even angry that you are obviously an asshole when it comes to my matches, but enough is enough.

Would love for you to explain though if you want. You Jim are a twat and I don't like you is fine by me... I also think am twat very often. However, vote you will not.
I voted for whoever had the better teams. Nothing to do with an agenda against you.

He did have a great attacking chemistry with Shalimov for the one 92-93 season before Bergkamp arrived. After the mid-table previous season, they were the main reason they recovered and finished 2nd...think Sosa had about 20 goals that year with Shalimov providing the midfield creativity. Pity it didn't last, as Shalimov work-ethic and arrogance ruined his career.

Sounds plausible, I do have a recollection of him starting his Inter stint like a house on fire. Twenty goals was an insane number back then, that's not just a purple patch!

Could be an entire season, yeah, I just remember Inter being the tipping point and all the way down, and fast, thereafter.

Wouldn't touch him with a bargepole in this timeframe.

Sosa’s first season was ridiculous - one of the greatest standalone campaigns of any forward in the league in the decade.

@Gio in case you've missed my first tag? I doubt that this game will require much preparation, it looks quite straight-forward.

Yeah, I looked it up and clearly it was a lot more than just starting with a bang. Probably his best season in Italy actually.

Damn my being so enamoured with the Dream Team. The upside is, I now have a whole stack of Inter games to look forward to watching at some point (where? suggestions for 90s Serie A?).

The whole Bergkamp incident pretty much describes both and the two different football schools.

Bergkamp came from Ajax and thought it was ridiculous he and Sosa had to take on five defenders all by themselves while the rest of the team stayed back.

In the meantime Sosa would have been like "Just five? And an entire half pitch to run around them? Yeah, baby!"

Was never going to work. Bergkamp wouldn't give him the ball as he would just run away with it. Sosa wouldn't give him the ball because he was a boring cnut who didn't smile and took things far too seriously. Goes without saying Sosa didn't do particularly well in Germany either.

While looking up Sosa interviews reminiscing about Iceman I came across this succint description of how Francescoli went about leading an underdog side to three Copa América wins and a runner up spot:

Ruben Sosa said:
Enzo would say "Just give it to me. They'll try to kick me. If they don't kick me hard enough, I'll come up with something. We get a chance or we get a free kick"

Football is a simple game indeed when you are a genius with cojones.

Where do images need uploading to, in order to be shared on here nowadays?

I have found sharemytactics direct links work fine these days

I can't get sharemytactics to allow me to put 11 players on the pitch, it glitches and stacks them on top of each other and deletes them every time I move them.

Can everyone show the three year peaks on the team sheets please? If not put it in the OP. Something like this would be great
