Nostalgia Draft - Winner - Isotope

I'm pretty sure I started watching football from 1992 onwards although my first major memory was this sticker album cover:

Vaguely remember that one. First memory is my mate's Mexico '86 one, which miraculously was all intact around the time of Italia '90. First sticker album I spent all my pocket money on was this:

So when do we start? @Physiocrat

Also on double pick for 1st and 16th drafters, we don't know what the randomized injury number will be. So there's no advantage of placing players on 5th or 6th (double picks, for instance).

Yes this and what's the rules then.

Players at the peak of their powers from the 92/93 season until 2012? World football?

Edit it's those two seasons isn't it. 92/93 and 2011/12?

Although I only had enough pocket money to complete this jewel:

Which was made locally and didn't have image rights like Panini so featured classics like this Brazilian side:

Picking times deadlines will only come into play from 10pm BST today (UK time)

So when do we start? @Physiocrat

My thought is that on average 3rd picks will be better than 4th picks so it would make sense for a drafter with a double pick to place their better player 4th so that if round 3 players are blocked it blocks a slightly worse player for them and keeps their better 4th player.

92/93 season until the end of the 2011/12 season including Euro 2012. When playing you need to declare a 3 three consecutive peak for that player within that time period.

To further clarify P-Nut has until 2am BST on Tuesday to make his first pick.

But then if Turn 4 is the injured one they lose the slightly better one.

This only really applies to Iso and his 2nd pick... and not even that: he will order that correctly as he wants the 2nd pick to be protected.

Is that really necessary? I can see the point on explaining the rationale and set appropriate expectations with ageing 90s or youngish 10s.

That said, players who had almost their entire career in that period will have likely played in different systems at different times and you will want to use the different incarnations of that same player as part of squad management. E.g. use Schuster as AM or DLP.

It's a minor point that I have probably over thought. For simplicity we might just best best blocking a round number for everyone

You can define different three year peaks for each game, so if you want an AM one game and a DLP for another you can state different years. Also you should take a somewhat broad view of peak with respect to position. You should focus on the player traits and abilities from that 3 year peak to see if they could play that role. For instance, R9 as first pick could play in his genuine peak mode but in a different role in a modern system.

PM picks to Next Manager and Synco
When PMing picks please send them to the next drafter in the list and also Synco.

Welcome back anto
Thanks mate, somehow missed this with all the WW notifications.

Xavi huh? Brave. Doable with two decades worth of players, depends if anyone dares go in that direction without him. Checkmate move that.

Ffs even in this pool xavi is considered a brave pick

@Jim Beam

I can’t justify to myself not picking him.

Not because of Xavi's status but the implications. Rules out a fair chunk of the pool and you are also left with the challenge of Messi being banned. It's Messi-less Spain all over again. They were a bit good though.

As said, also has the implication of leaving any similar style wannabee with the problem of not having Xavi or Messi. It's an insurmountable moat that if you ask me.

Brave but strategically sound, basically.
