Nordic Ghost Yeti (Scandi Carroll) | Haaland at City

But when do they ever counter attack? They had 99% possession at some point yesterday

It will be more effective in knockout stage of UCL competitions, when they play the same level of opponents. It could be another important weapons imho. In league system, City has almost 70 percents possession.

Impossible to compete against current City + Haaland, unless he gets injured or something.

Huge favorites for CL next season now.

He's not even close to Aguero, so let's not overreact already.

I’ve said this numerous times before, this was the nightmare scenario for me and I’m usually a glass half full type of guy. He just scores too much too often. Sir Alex showed that top strikers are key to winning the league. I’m not sure if this gets them over the CL hump or not as thats a bit of a lotterly but unless he gets hurt, they will continue dominating the league with him. His scoring rate is absurd and it will only get better the city.

This sucks.

Haaland's ability to find empty space, pace, intelligence and sharp finishing skill will match City's system and creativity from a lot of City players. I suppose he needs to adapt and learn Guardiola's system and City's players movement but after that he will feck this league, if he isn't injury prone.

We are paying Lukaku almost as much weekly as what Haaland' salary is reported to be at City. All you people complaining about him going to City....go to the back of the line!!

Keyword being reported, theres no way on earth that's actually his salary.

One of the most obvious transfers especially when his dad had an influence.

What is striking for me is the fee City will pay and no such nonsense with Dortmund over this transfer as United had with Sancho. The difference between having incompetent idiots and clued people over the transfer business.

Not sure what excuse Man City can use for not winning the CL next season as they have used up every excuse already but wouldn't it be funny if they flatter to deceive again.

Rather the difference being a release clause

One involved an easy release clause, the other involved negotiating them down to a decent fee at the time.

not only that but you paid 40m more for him too… and a similar amount for Werner

I doubt he and Pep will get along. Ibra 2.0. Just 2 seasons instead of 6 months.

Anyway, last chance for Pep to win another UCL.

Only the best players, eh?

Pep Guardiola is my idol.

I'm probably going to shoot myself in the foot here, but I honestly don't believe City will improve that much, if any, with Haaland in their team. He's an incredible goalscorer, for sure, but their players are just on another level technically compared to him, and while he is going to score a lot of goals for them, I don't think they will get more goals in total than this season. He is going to disrupt the flow of their game quite often and ruin their attacks because he simply doesn't have the technique like his teammates. Either way, as a Norwegian myself, I'm sooo excited to see him play in the Premier League for Manchester City and I'll be watching every game next season.

United signed Amad/Pellistri because people wanted us to buy hidden gems but then don’t want the patience to wait until they’re ready.

Then people also complain that we don’t but players like Haaland. But those same people complain that the big money signings are prima donnas & aren’t worth the money.

Whatever happens no one will be happy
We payed 30M for those two, and it’s highlight unlikely that any of them will ever be good enough for a challenging United. Pellistri turns 21 this year and managed to get 23 apps for Alaves as an out right winger without a single goal contribution. Amad turns 20 this summer and had struggled to get gametime in The Scottish premiership. They are now worth 10M less than what we payed for them 16 months ago. I want us to find gold too, but random tiny (5’8’’) winger talents with non EU passports is not the way to go when you need to strenghten your first team and first team squad.

Well, have a real goalscorer in the team is something they have been missing since Agüero's prime days. Seems like a smart move trying to fix that, although I still think Kane would have been a better fit. That being said, City, who already have one of the strongest squads in the world, undoubtably strengthened their squad again. And more importantly got their top transfer done early, quiet and with no bullshit leaks to the press every couple of days.

The sad reality of modern United. We're a non factor, simply watching on as our closest rivals go out and sign the brightest young talents in the World.

Well, this deal is probably agreed for a while to be honest. It just makes too much sense for him to pick City over other clubs.

What a nightmare scenario. I really hope we now out all our eggs into the Harry Kane basket and make City look stupid when it's us who comes out of the how transfer window with the world class striker.

Nah, just another "Raiola player"; injury-prone, difficult, arrogant, harsh, tailor-made for PSG or City.

Most clubs are a non factor, who is willing to pay an agent/Father 50m in additional fees plus the transfer fee and 500k wages?

Can we all quote you on this in 12 months. He’s different than Aguero, but he’s a much bigger goalthreat than Aguero ever was already.

Just think ,if United had added a release clause to their offer, we could be selling him to City for a big profit. actually making money off a player sale, a rare concept in the post fergie era. that is of course if you believe some of the reports that Dortmund adding one and United not having one/not willing to add one is what swayed the deal, and then two his value actually increasing while playing at United. He's going to score at least 3 goals against us in the two fixtures next year. Two off of crosses into the box for easy tap ins, and a header goal.

Great business for Dortmund, as usual; they bought a Scandinavian promise for peanuts a couple of years ago, and now they are selling him in the biggest transfer of all time; after this transfer, Dortmund will become one of the richest non-state-backed traditional clubs.
