Nordic Ghost Yeti (Scandi Carroll) | Haaland at City

I don't know if it was just a couple of angles today but he looked to be carrying a bit more timber than usual.

He really didn't happen today. I have no clue what Peps plan for the game was. I mean it must have been obvious that we are going to sit deep and make it extremely tight. Why start with him and not Alvarez...

The plan was crosses, and they kinda abandoned it when I thought he was nearly in a couple of times from them.

Paradoxically Haaland would look a far better player at a different club while scoring far fewer goals I reckon. He stands out like a sore thumb in a side that prioritises possession and careful build up play over everything else.

Would have done very well in Klopp's Liverpool side.

For a bloke his size , the amount of time he hits the deck is fecking unprecedented. The sooner he fecks off to Spain the sooner he can hide how shit his build up play is

He's a great poacher but not a great footballer. There's no magic there. I'd still have him here in a heartbeat.

If that was the plan, then they really did a bad job getting into crossing positions. I don't think, that was the plan. My only assumption is that Pep really thought he could just overcome us through the middle. Had a look at average positioning, City was extreme bunched up in the middle. It was making it even harder for him as his players were so close to each other they had no idea where to be.

Alvarez probably missed City's best chance
But he really had one. I think, we struggled with him and Dokus close control. I was a bit suprised that Pep didn't start with at least one of them. Also the Gvardiol decision wasn't rectified, he was the one having at least some space but as a CB he obviously was very limited in his abilities.

I knew he wouldn’t score when Martinez and Varane was in the line up

Both him and De Bruyne have been poor in many games this season. De Bruyne looks past his best to me.
They’re only really good against open teams. Fernandes showed De Bruyne up today

He’s had some bad injuries and is deffo past his best. He has been bloody magnificent though.

He's scored a lot of goals for someone who's not that difficult to cancel out.

He just doesn't look all that fit to me. A bit sluggish.
Yea against teams who struggle to defend vs the whole City team, but vs teams who get their structure together, hes often not a problem.

Yeah if you think of how much better he'd be than Nunez with a similar service/volume of quick chances and shots.
