Gaming Nintendo Switch

The annoying thing with Nintendo products is they don't tend to drop in price.

What's even more irritating is the games that are on the switch and other consoles and yet are more expensive on the switch despite many being inferior quality on it. If they were the same price I'd buy them for the handiness of being able to play them portable.

Agreed. Zelda has been out for the best part of two years and it’s still £49.99 everywhere.

I guess there's no need for their games to drop in price, as nearly everyone who gets their consoles will want their games, too. The closest is waiting for those special version, like Nintendo Selects where they are a bit cheaper.

Pretty much. Anyone who buys a switch and doesn't get Zelda and/or Mario is dumb.

It's still doing rather well, so those who have asked for price cuts might still have to wait a while longer

They are probably reaching 20m sales for this fiscal year, absolutely amazing, might reach 100m at the end of the switch life time at this pace, considering AC, LM3, Pokemon 2019, and Fire Emblem coming out this year I don't see them slowing down, then there's Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4, possibly new Zelda and maybe even new Mario in 2020, the future is bright for Nintendo.

Not this side of 2022 I'd say :(

Btw the same guy who said the direct will be tomorrow said MM2 is coming, he also said Pikmin 3 is coming, the guy has been accurate with everything he said so far since like a year ago.

Ps. He is a poster on Resetera.

Pikmin 3 has been and gone.

Edit: could be another Wiiu port though.

On top of my list of games that are never gonna happen I want Starfox Adventures 2: Electric Boogaloo

Many people now saying MM2 will be an e3 thing, imagine end of year with LM3, MM2, and Pokemon 8th gen, that would be crazy.

Along with Fire Emblem, I expect to see Metroid Prime Trilogy revealed along with more information on Daemon X Machina and Yoshi. All of these games will be released before E3 2019 IMO (this June, with Yoshi already confirmed for March anyway). That's what I'm 90% sure on, the rest is a bit more up in the air. I'd be surprised if any WiiU ports aren't announced here, with Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Super Mario 3D World the favourites on the potential list (rumour is we're getting two of them but one is likely Pikmin 3). They could announce both, or just one for now. They'll be spaced a few months apart in terms of release though.

Games that I expect to be left until later to be shown are Mario Maker, Bayonetta 3, and Pokémon Gen 8. Possibly the 2D Zelda could be later - this is a game I expect to release in October.

Games that are touch and go are Luigi's Mansion 3 (which I am swaying more towards a yes on, since the rumour is it releases in July) and Animal Crossing. If the release of September is correct then they could do another Direct around April where this is the game they show in more detail, like they've already made Fire Emblem the supposed main point of this Direct tonight. Nintendo like to do things in roughly six month release windows bar the odd game, so these are definitely potential games to make at least a small showing. I'm touch and go on Retro's game (StarFox Racing), if they've had the time to work on a Metroid Prime 4 submission it could have been canned, but hopefully we get to see that as well.

I'm hopeful we get a release window for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and I imagine other third party games like Assassin's Creed 3 and the Spyro Trilogy will get officially announced with releases dates or at least windows/months.

I do think a large bulk of this show will be games that Nintendo wants to get out before the end of the Summer. We'll see another general Direct, a Pokémon Direct, and the e3 show itself for games releasing in the September-March period.

Ok here's my prediction for first party nintendo stuff:

March - Yoshi
April and May - Daemon x Machina and Fire Emblem
June - 2D Zelda and MPT
July - new Mario sport game + Pikmin 3
August - Town and Animal Crossing
September - Mario Maker 2
October - Luigi's Mansion
November - Pokemon
December - Bayonetta 3 or Retro's new game

That would be an amazing year imo.

Edit: There could be more remasters but maybe that would be overkill for the year and they could hold out on them for next year, maybe No More Heroes collection or XCX and Super Mario 3D Land.

As for 3rd party stuff we already know about Doom, MKX, all the FF stuff, and Crash Racing, I'm hoping for Assassin Creed, Castlevania stuff, Apex Legends to come to the Switch, I'm hoping they shadow drop FFVII, also some new 3rd party exclusives like Bravely Default 3, Persona 4 is a dream for me.

My thoughts are more like this for the main games:

March - Yoshi
April - Metroid Prime Trilogy
May - Daemon X Machina
June - Fire Emblem
July - Luigi's Mansion 3
August - StarFox Racing
September - Animal Crossing
October - Zelda
November - Pokémon

There's also Mario Maker, Pikmin 3, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 which will be in that period somewhere in terms of exclusive titles. Probably another WiiU Port at minimum also. TOWN as well, which could be eShop only.

The game I most expect to be a Feb/March 2020 game that is exclusive is Bayonetta 3.

I thought FF VII would be part of a bundle or something? Did I make that up?

Don't forget about Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3! I'm super pumped for that one.

Next one will be my first, how good is those games? I like JRPGs btw.
They're turned-based strategy games. Really exceptional. As it's your first, you'll have a lot to take in and learn about.

If they're for you, and you have a real aptitude for them, you'll probably want to check out the back catalogue. It's an extreme game - people who tend to play these are fanatical about them and extremely singe-focused to the point it can be the only game they play on a certain system; it's definitely not a light-hearted romp - the kind of games where even after you turn them off, you're thinking about what you could have done better, etc.

If you like them, it'll be one of the best purchases you'll ever make on a console due to the amount of time and dedication you'll put into it. If not, you'll probably not have much to do with it.

I love turn based JRPGs but this seems a bit different, is the story usually good?

They're strictly strategy games, so quite a bit different from an RPG. If I'm honest, I don't know much about the story as I mash start or go do something if the game won't let me. Perhaps ignorant of me, but it's all about the next stage for me and I've been playing them since the gameboy advance, so I'm more expectant of a same old rehash in terms of storyline.

It's so so good, best controller I have, I kind of wish I could use it on the ps4 since the ps4 controller is a a lot less comfortable.
I think they're both good honestly.

My Street Fighter 5 Ryu edition fighter pad blows it away though :p
