Gaming Nintendo Switch

Excellent :)

Well... that's one more on the list of people overtaken me in becoming an adult

Nope. It definitely doesn't mean I've become an adult, or that I'm even close!

I was quite happy to just trade in to CEX but they wouldnt accept due to the chip. Im sure someone on ebay will take it off my hands.

Hopefully anyway, Switch is bloody expensive on its own - nevermind after the pro controller and full priced games (I cant game share like on PS4/Xbox)
It's not essential mate - yes it's great but the Joy Cons are fine by themselves.

I start earlier and leave earlier generally, but if I get a late night I’ll just start at 10 and leave at 5, which is nice.

Ill be up for that in a few weeks.

Dont play Havak tho, hes a dick on Mario Kart I remember.

I cant believe it is still friend codes tho!
Only just seen this

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I don't have Mario Kart on Switch, I never got around to getting it and depending what happens with this upcoming Nintendo Direct, I may end up giving it a miss. If there are no games I want coming out between this month and March or so, I might end up picking it up if I can find it a little bit cheaper than £35-40 though.

Any idea when the Nintendo Direct thing is happening? I hope there's something for Metroid Prime 4 in there.

There were very strong rumours it's today, but with no announcement yet I can't see it happening. Nintendo have been tweeting things that are obvious teasers, and GameStop tweeted (and quickly deleted) saying it's a 45 minute long presentation which is cool. It could get announced later today for tomorrow, but right now I'd expect it to happen next week. They don't normally do them on weekends, but I suppose Saturday is possible too.

Metroid Prime 4 might be pushing it a bit, along with Bayonetta 3 and Pokémon. I could be wrong, they may show something on them, but Nintendo tends to only show things coming in the near future and I highly doubt we see any of these three before November. There are plenty of games I can see information being given on though, such as:

Kirby
Yoshi
Fire Emblem
Animal Crossing
Bayonetta 1 & 2 on Switch (Wii U Ports)
I think the DLC for Xenoblade 2 will get more details
Maybe a couple of bigger first party games
I expect something like a Mario Maker port, maybe Smash Bros. I think that's all that's left from porting Wii U stuff that people would actually buy.

Some system-level stuff such as more information on the Paid Online Service and maybe Virtual Console, App Support (NetFlix, Twitch etc), and Home Screen Customization.

Third party stuff such as GTA 5, Lost Sphear, Bravely Default/Second ports (or Third, new game), Burnout, Wolfenstein 2, MegaMan Legacy, Street Fighter, maybe Dark Souls remastered. There will be a fair amount of this kind of stuff, but probably not everything I mentioned there.

I also think there will be more 3DS stuff than people expect. Pokémon Crystal on the eShop is this month, maybe that Detective Pikachu game.. There's something from Level 5 that I can't quite remember the name of that did well in Japan that could be localized now, and there's also the latest Yo-Kai Watch game that isn't out here yet.

My main prediction for this Direct is that people will be disappointed because they're too hyped up  but hopefully it's good!

After a drunken chat with a Rockstar employee I think Gta may happen. He also disclosed some RDR2 info.

Sweet, cheers for the info dude.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing something for the Xenoblade DLC. Really enjoyed that game.

That DS1 remaster better not be a Switch exclusive.
As long as it plays smoothly, I don't care (partly because I already own a Switch:lol:).
Have Lotf, DS1 & 2 for PC and can config the PS4 controllers for it, and DS3, BB and Nioh for the PS4.

Wonder how long I'll love these kind of games.

I don't care in the slightest about a remaster on the PC, but I'll deffo get the switch version. I don't know why, but there's something so appealing about it.

I thought I would get bored of these games by now, but I actually crave more

Hearing in the grapevine that something is going to happen at 2pm GMT... Might be a Nintendo Direct Mini or announcement of one.

Mario Tennis and Tropical freeze only interest me.

Not interested in Dark Souls on the switch.

Damn, hoped for Mario Maker over Donkey Kong since I had Tropical Freeze on the Wii U.

Great game for those of you who haven't played it though. Do they still price the likes of Mario Tennis at typical AAA prices (£50/60)?

It's not essential mate - yes it's great but the Joy Cons are fine by themselves.

The joy cons seem alright from what I played last night, but I found them uncomfortable I assume due to having big fat chimp hands.

There are lots of cheaper third party controllers tho which I could go for. I could easily make do without motion I reckon, and not sure rumble alone is worth £40+ in difference, even if I will miss it.

Tropical Freeze doesn't look particularly exciting, but it's a joy to play. Cracking game that deserves a bigger audience than it had on the Wiiu.

Most hyped about Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Never got to play on the Wii U as i didn't own one. Love DK though so can't wait for that.

Dark Souls and Mario Tennis two other games looking forward to. Mario Tennis actually looks pretty good.

Shout out to Kirby which looks ok. Never been a fan of the series but intrigued by this one.

that's a severely underwhelming list of games tbh.

It was always going to be underwhelming after last year. This year I see them pushing the older games and drop a few new titles at the end of the year. They need to hurry the feck up with their online.

Yeah, I agree, I actually expected little on the games front, but thought we might hear more about their online offering.

As someone who owned a Wii U I'm not a fan of the re releases. I know why they're doing it, though.

Nothing to excite me from that list.

Don't know why I'm excited for Dark Souls, but I am  Guess I'll buy it again! Glad Donkey Kong is coming since I never got the Wii U version.

Nope. It definitely doesn't mean I've become an adult, or that I'm even close!
That's good to hear, gotta be honest

I’m expecting Smash or Pokemon towards the end of the year. Probably Smash is more likely.
