Gaming Nintendo 3DS vs PS Vita thread.

The only bad thing about PS+ is that it is almost too good. Ridiculous amount of (almsot) free content.

It is supposed to be. One of the few Vita games that I actually bought, but I've yet to get around to playing it.

Anyone ever played rayman? I got origins for vita and finally completed it yesterday. Graphics are stunning, but damn it's a hard and frustrating game. So frustrating it might have ruined some of the enjoyment out of it, especially in the final stages.

I don't think I will have the patience to ever play one of these games again

Origins and Legends are two excellent platformers, better than any recent Mario, IMO.

You think that's frustrating? Try playing the original Rayman if you want balls bustingly frustrating platforming.

Better than 3D World?

Never played the Mario galaxy games but I surely did like the 3d game on the 3ds. For me origins was not on the same level. But haven't played legends.

I was tempted by Legends on the Vita, until I read about a certain stage that utilizes touch features, making it hugely irritating.

Managed to get Legends for like £12.50 so went for it because I've also managed to lose my Origins card for my Vita. It's great fun and the touch screen levels, while not being quite as much fun as the standard gameplay, are a decent change of pace.

Not a deal breaker then?
Definitely not for me. I can see why some wouldn't like them but I think it adds something a bit extra to the Vita version. I might change my tune and get sick of them after a while but there's loads of content available so I'm sure you could not even bother with most of those levels if you didn't want to.

Both Origins and Legends are excellent games. Tough to compare the 2d games with any of the 3d Marios though. They are definitely better than the 2d New Super Mario Bros, but I haven't played the last one on the Wii U

I can't comment on Rayman Legends as I haven't played it, but I love the art style. I wish Nintendo would do a new console Yoshi's Island game with a similar style to Origins and Legends

On the topic of platformers... I wish there were more retail platformers, rather than indie/download-only like most of them are these days :( The DS has a shit-load, now apart from Nintendo games and the odd one or two, most of them are digital only ones. There are so many indie ones that I'd love to get if physical copies of them existed.

Aye, Mighty Switch Force 1 and 2 being a couple of my favourite platformers on the 3DS, as well as the nice port of the first on the Wii U.

The new Yoshi's Island seems to be a bitter disappointment from the reviews I've seen. On the subject of the DS, I got a new copy of Solatorobo from Argos for a fiver. :D

That's a great price. I wanted to try it out a couple of years back but it seemed to end up being one of those games that was always expensive.

I know Argos had the Xenoblade & Classic Controller pack for £14.99 about a week ago. Still need to play the copy I bought last year.

I don't think we'll ever get another one anywhere near the original :(

So, Football Manager for Vita is out in 3 days. I will certainly buy it the very first day it comes out - I'd love some FM experience after basically 4 years away from the game. I stopped at 2007 which I played continously up until 2010, all the next installments didn't appeal to me as much as they were too complicated - the classic version seems exactly my cup of tea and they will likely have it spot on with the controls on Vita, utilising both touch screens. I can't wait, hopefully it's going to be a midnight launch on PSN Store so I can take my Vita to work on Friday and play. :)

Going to wait for impressions and reviews before buying it. Haven't been playing the PC version at all lately and I've got loads of other games to play.

Only play my Vita at home and already have the game on PC. Will just play the classic mode if I ever feel like a more simplified game (Vita is just classic mode, right?)

If it had come out at the same time at half the price, I'd have probably gone for it over the PC version.

I need to find the time to purchase and play Fire Emblem Awakening, Bravely Default, Layton vs Wright and Mario Golf for the 3ds within the near future. I still have to start Zelda a link between worlds too and that's before I get onto the game backlog on other consoles. I think I'll need to quit my job if I intend to play them all!

My backlog on 3DS is staggering - yet to finish Luigi's Mansion, Zelda, Bravely Default, Phoenix Wright, Layton and Miracle Mask, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi and a couple others. Likewise with Vita to be fair, I don't travel all that much since I've switched to a new job so I don't really have the time to play.

I've got a fair few 3DS games sitting around waiting to be played too. I still haven't finished Pokemon X all the way yet and then i started Fire Emblem Awakening and got distracted so haven't been back to it yet. Then there's Ocarina of Time and A Link Between Worlds that i've not even touched yet. It's not like i don't have time either really, i just get distracted doing something else and then the moment has passed

I haven't even bought Zelda, Mario and Luigi, Paper Mario, Pokemon, Donkey Kong or Fire Emblem yet. Plus some other older ones that I keep forgetting about.

I liked Paper Mario but it was still a big disappointment after previous entries. Felt far too underdeveloped, pushed the sticker gimmick too much throughout and the "puzzles" were a bit silly, especially the fact you lost your sticker if you used the wrong one.

Wow.

Super Smash Bros coming to 3DS this summer. Winter for Wii U.

I'm so surprised, I was sure it'd come out for Wii U before 3DS to push the Wii U. Crazy. Awesome news for you 3DS owners though.
