Gaming Nintendo 3DS vs PS Vita thread.

I've done quite a few complete playthroughs of Driver in the last 3-4 years, and while obviously it's quite aged I still find it a lot of fun.

Forgot about Driver. That's a franchise they should resurrect.

There was one about 2 years ago, was pretty fun actually although quite different. You had the ability to swap to any vehicle anywhere on the map, which was lots of fun and very seamless.

Or did you know that, and meant resurrect again.

Yup, a proper one, and unique to the consoles in location, and some vehicles, IIRC.

That was more of a best of than a remake, if I'm thinking of the same TH game, some of the levels were from 2, the school for one.

Maybe, I'm not sure..

As for Motorstorm - do we know why there hasn't been a (proper) version for the Vita made yet? Seems like a perfect game for the Vita.

There was Driver San Francisco a year or two ago but it was quite different to the others, but yeah I'd like to see them bring out a game closer to the originals. Driver Parallel Lines I actually really liked. Not just compared to the shit fest that was Driv3r, but I think it's a good game. Played it loads.

Didn't know that, did they over complicate it? One day the game devs will realise that all we want is a simple but fun game.

Awful physics and not the greatest graphics, but I thought it was a really good game.

The supernatural premise allowing you to swap to be the 'driver' of any other vehicle is just brilliant, it's done so seamlessly and I wondered if that's where GTA got the idea of swapping between characters from.

Chasing a guy and see a bus up ahead? Become the bus driver, hand brake and block him off.

In terms of pure fun and enjoyment, it's really good I thought.

I haven't played the full game, but from the little I did play it seemed a bit weird with the body/car swap feature.

You're a bit weird with your body swap feature.
Weirdo.

Driver San Francisco was a lot better than I expected after hearing about that shift feature.

Some obvious flaws but it was very fun to play and a badly needed renaissance for the Driver series.

Never heard of that. Sounds like you're an agent out of the Matrix.

The guy goes into a coma at the start, then wakes up with the ability to shift between the vehicles.

Felt like they had been inspired by Life on Mars actually (if you haven't seen it, it's good).

I have. It's brilliant. :D Definitely one of the best things to come out of Britain TV wise in recent times.

Where can I get this deluxe edition? I'll be getting the game anyway and if there isn't some obscene price set on it I might just get the deluxe version.

Phoenix Wright should be up in about 15 hours, honestly cannot wait before I get my hands on it. Meanwhile I've been enjoying Stranger's Wrath courtesy of PS+, really good game.

Shopto apparently.

The Bravely Default Deluxe Collector’s Edition, which will be available in the UK from Shop To, comes in a game-themed box which contains the following items:

Bravely Default (Nintendo 3DS Game Card)
Agnès Figurine
Deluxe Artbook
34 AR Cards
Original Soundtrack CD

As a special pre-order bonus, fans will also be able to get their hands on a smaller artbook when they pre-order either the standalone game or the collector’s edition at GAME before launch on 6th December. The game itself will also be available as a download from Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo 3DS family of consoles.

I'm not sure they deliver to Poland mind, I might end up getting a standard version. It's around Christmas time so I'll probably get it as a gift anyway.

That looks awesome!

I've kinda decided i'm going to order Pokemon Heartgold and, more importantly, Zelda: Ocarina of Time for my 3DS XL. Gonna pop my Zelda cherry i think Although, having said all that, i do have 3 essays to do in like 3 weeks so i'm not sure how wise it is to be ordering now :p

Nope, all the nope.

He says, trying to convince himself....
:D

Has anyone done the data transfer between two SD cards for 3DS? How do I go about doing it - do I just put the old SD card into a slot in my laptop, copy all the files over to a new one and put it in 3DS? Do I get to keep all the downloadable content and saves etc.?

I don't have space for Phoenix Wright and I don't want to delete Lego City, Fire Emblem or Animal Crossing so I figured it'd be best if I could just get a bigger card as they are extremely cheap. I don't want to lose any data though.

So, Oddworld Strangers Wrath is on PS Plus - annoying because I've already got it, but great for you who haven't.

It's a HD remake of the original Xbox game, which mixes 3rd person platforming with 1st person shooting - it's original, creative and lots of fun.

Also, Motorstorm RC which I've also already got. I enjoyed it for a bit, it's like a micro-machines without the charm. Worth trying, I had plenty of fun on it for a while before getting bored.

Oddworld is actually quite good then is it? Doesn't look my cup of tea but I'll give it a bash. Still have so many games to play on my Vita...

I like it - like I say it's a 3D puzzle platformer with added first-person shooter elements. It doesn't do either great, but together it adds for lots of fun and it's a refreshing game to play after so many games being the same old thing again and again.

It's far from perfect, but for free it's definitely worth a shot. Bear in mind, it starts pretty slow..

I got Phoenix Wright on my SD. Had to delete Fire Emblem for now because none of you would help me move data (I have completed it anyway).

You just copy them over don't you? I had a problem with the games showing up because they weren't in the right folder and ended up having to integrate my existing folders of my old SD onto the existing folders on the new SD that came with my 3DS XL.

One of the best games I played on my Xbox. It's such an original idea. I think it'll still stand up today, well worth a play if you can get the HD remake of PS+.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/10/24/the-wolf-among-us-comes-to-ps-vita-this-fall/

Hey everyone! We’re super happy to announce that The Wolf Among Us, the latest episodic series from Telltale Games, is coming to PS Vita for download later this fall!

What’s this “Wolf” stuff about? Based on the award-winning Fables comic book series, The Wolf Among Us is an often violent, mature and hard-boiled thriller where the characters and creatures of myth, lore and legend are real and exist in our world. These aren’t quite the characters you might remember from childhood stories though. Playing as Bigby Wolf – the big bad wolf in human form – you’ll discover that the brutal, bloody murder of a Fable is just a taste of things to come.

If you’ve already played The Walking Dead on PlayStation 3 or PS Vita, you’ll be familiar with the gameplay in The Wolf Among Us. It’s all about choice and consequence, but we’ve definitely upped the ante (especially in the action sequences)!

In case you missed it the first time around, be sure to check out the recent PlayStation Blogcast with Episode 1 co-director Nick Herman for more details on the series, and a few hints about what you might be in for…

Like The Walking Dead on PS Vita, you’ll be able to choose between analog or touchscreen controls, or even switch on the fly if that’s what you like. Great news for those who prefer to play inverted as well: we’ve added an “invert Y” option in The Wolf Among Us, so you’ll feel right at home.

Even if you’ve already been enjoying Bigby’s exploits on PlayStation 3, the PS Vita version could be an opportunity to make different decisions in another playthrough, any time and any place it suits you.

We’re working to lock down the debut date and price, so stay tuned for more info on that front! In the meantime, check out the trailer to see what people have been saying about Episode 1.

As ever, let us know below if you’ve got any comments or questions. See you in Fabletown!

So I let my kid sister play on Crash Bandicoot: Cortex Strikes Back for 20 minutes and she's deleted my saves. What a bitch. I don't care if she's 10, bitch.

I'd pretty much re-completed it for the nth time, I need a new platformer. I found Jak a little too awkward control wise for a replay, despite it being free - is there something else you guys could recommend from the market?

Was Crash Bash on PS1? I know it wasn't Naughty Dog, but I think it was PS1 and was a little disappointed it wasn't on the store.

I could maybe replay Spyro - but I think it's too hardcore for me to casually replay on the go. Spyro 2 and 3 were rock solid towards the end (or seemed it at the time).

Just pick up Rayman or Sly Cooper if you want to go in that direction.

Phoenix Wright is great BTW. Shame it's digital only, still a wonderful game. I wonder what's Blackgate going to be like, it's kind of a shame that they had to dumb it down to make it accessible on both systems as Vita could have easily got a full 3D Batman game instead.

What's Phoenix Wright? I've never heard of it.

Rayman is cool, but I'm all Rayman'd out atm and I'll be buying Legends for the Wii U soon.

Sly Cooper - have you played it? Definitely interested in the newest version on Vita, considered buying it at the time, it got some good reviews but from the gameplay videos I watched I didn't really see much platforming. I don't think I saw much anything, didn't feel like you did much except move the character about between cut-scenes. Maybe I didn't give it enough chance.

It's a sort of a lawyer adventure game in the mould of Layton, lots of text and figuring things out. If you're into this sort of stuff it's one of the best.

Yeah, I got Sly Cooper for sub-£10 when it was on sale on PS Store, I think in July. I've only played it for 2-3 hours so far but it's a good experience. It has a lot of cut-scenes at the beginning but it doesn't seem as bothersome after an hour or so and gameplay is pretty cool. It's not your typical platforming title though IMO, more like an adventure game with quirky graphics (I'd never played Sly before).

Oddworld looks pretty immense tbf, and plays well too, dunno what the regular pace is, of if it's slightly sluggish on the Vita, but it's a little more hefty than most platformers/adventures. Kinda like Killzone is to FPS games. Intentional or not, feels very nice.

Why isn't it online already????!!! You lied to me walsh, I need something to play now..
it's not like I've got a lecture in 7 hours to sleep for.
