Gaming Nintendo 3DS vs PS Vita thread.

gotta say I really like my 3DS so far, got Pokemon Black, Pearl and White 2 for it, plus F1 2011 and Ridge Racer, the 3D stuff on the latter two looks really impressive and the 3D camera is pretty nifty as well.

bought it mainly for the BC atm with DS games, but hopefully it will get some great games of it's own soon :)

Its quicker to download to the PS3 and then do a wire transfer to the VITA, rather than download straight to the VITA
 
I got Assassins Creed and it's brilliant. Graphics wise it's fine, about as good as Uncharted, controls are great and the setting is very nice. It's the way this console should be supported - a PS3 version of a game followed by a Vita version with a different story and stuff. Brilliant, first time I've been actually happy with my Vita in about 3 months.
 
I'd say mixed. For me it's a very good game, as good as it was on PS3 albeit with inferior graphics. I don't get why they'd rate it any worse unless the story sucks, which I don't think it does even after an hour or so.
 
Morrison's are ridding of their Vita stock due to poor sales. The price will be cut to £150 soon and in the next two months there will be two 15% staff discount days. If you know anyone that works at Morrison's, you can pick up a Vita very cheaply.

Not related handhelds, but all of the old consoles are going to have their prices slashed before December 5th (another staff discount day). Off the top of my head, you can pick up a 250gb PS3 for £100. Pretty sure the 250gb with Kinect is going to £150 as well.

Multi-platform games usually look exactly the same on 360 and PS3 and about 95% games are multi-platform these days.

I see little difference between Xbox and ps3. Both very good. Ps3 just has the edge on the exclusives but its far closer than you believe in that respect.


Vita is a mini ps3 where you can play identical but inferior games. It's bombing big time.

I have a 3ds and its a great bit of kit. I am hoping they release loads more classic Nintendo games though. Apparently majoras mask will be made at some stage.

360 and PS3 are basically the same unless you want Halo or Uncharted badly. I prefer PS3 exclusives which is why I got it, but 360 is a fine system too.
 
I have both, I would say the number one exclusive from them is gears of war followed by uncharted.

But in total ps3 has the better selection of exclusives. I love those infamous games.
 
It's out on Tuesday. And I've barely even got going in AC 3 and then black ops 2 is out soon as well. Games overload
 
Quick correction to my above post as I checked the news bulletin for Morrison's again.

I think some of the prices may be in the wrong place, but I'm still pretty sure it's at least the 160gb PS3 that will be £100 (£85 with staff discount) so that's still a massive bargain. 250gb Xbox w/ Kinect should be £150, so £127.50 with staff discount. Same for the Vita.

Didn't want to drag this away from handheld discussion but thought I'd let you guys know anyway, at least it's Vita related too :lol:

These changes (possibly bar Vita) will be made on Monday 5th November, with a higher staff discount rate on the 7th. The Vita stock will have been shipped and reduced by the next higher rate staff discount day on the 5th December.
 
I bought the NFS today and had a change of mind - Vita is actually good.
 
Black Ops Declassified is out and has got plenty of good reviews from players so far. Apparently it's far better than anticipated and really holds up well even compared to PS3 version. It won't be out in Poland for another week so I can't buy it yet but I'll run to the store first thing in the morning when it eventually hits the shelves. All of a sudden things are looking much better for Vita, if only they hadn't screwed up the new FIFA and put a full version out instead of remodeled 12 it'd be even better.
 
I wish they'd released CoD in Poland already, fecking delays. It's getting great reviews all over the Internet, much better than anyone anticipated.
 
False alarm, first positive reviews of CoD were misleading. Now reviews are out and it has scored an amazing 29/100 from the first six. I think I might skip it.

At the minute I am awaiting shipping of New Super Mario Bros 2. :drool:

New Super Marios Bros. 2 will not disappoint. The franchise is obviously always criticised for not bringing enough to the table, but as side-scrolling platformers go there really isn't much better (if anything, the only rivals of late I can think of are Rayman and Donkey Kong). You'll probably love this game even more if you haven't played one of the previous New Super Mario Bros. games.

I did briefly, not on my DS, and only completed a few levels.

Awesome deal for Vita available here, for roughly around £120 you get a Vita, FIFA 13 and a 4GB card.

Anyway, CoD has scored 31/100 from 12 reviews so far. It's a major let down for what was supposed to be a system seller.

And it's full price. I remember Weaste trying to convince someone that Vita was great because it'd have a full CoD. What it got instead is a game that doesn't even compare to Modern Combat on iPhone let alone all the CoD/Battlefield games on consoles. It's a shame because it was the last of big games for Vita this year and there aren't any particularly interesting announcements for the next year either, it's a worry. Then again I still have AC, LBP and NFS to play. :drool: Nevertheless what Nihilistic have done to Resistance and Call of Duty, two supposed system sellers, is inexcusable.
