Much smaller rinks makes for different styles of play.

I have to agree with Dans here, even though he knows nothing about hockey ;)

Dallas are a very sound attacking team. They only appear defensive because they are just damn good at defending.

Zubov is the best puck handling D man in the league.

Hatcher is a defensive defenseman...but this year switched to the left side and has showed he has some offensive skills. He is huge and a free agent. He will stay in Dallas though.

The Stars have two other solid Dmen- Sydor and Boucher. Boucher is an allaround Dman- passing, defending, skilled, where as Sydor is not a great defender, but he is good on the PP and attacking.

The offense is composed of forwards that can defend and score. They play a system that does not allow Modano to score 40 goals and 80 assists each season. Modano is the best skater in the game and neck to neck with Forsberg as the best player in the game, IMO. Modano is a better forechecker, Forsberg the better playmaker.

Turco is going to be a great goalie, and is the best puckhandling goalie in the NHL. Teams are afraid to dump the puck in for the fear that Turco will field the puck and kick it to a DMan and catch the opposing team in a line change. Other coaches have pointed out that Turco is like a 4th forward on the ice.

BTW, the Star are my team. Any Wings fans around?

YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! What a feckin game that was Vancouver vs. St.Louis, down 3-1 in the series won it 4-3. They looked unstopable, and once again we proved to have the best fans in the league. :D :D

Bring on the Wild.

Yes, Renberg is playing for toronto I think. Went home to Lulea for a year (because his former wife and kids lives there), was the swedish leagues MVP and moved back to the NHL as he got the chance to play with Sundin.

Sami Salo is a finnish defender. Very good IMO, fairly young. Got alot of playing time in Ottawa, was one of their main defenders and played during powerplay. Was traded last season to Vancouver. Another one of our best defenders was traded, Niinimaa from Edmonton to Islanders. Unbelieveably shite deal for Edmonton.

Add to that, Selanne didn't use his option on a 6m dollar / season contract from San Jose as he is ready to go down in wages to be able to win the SC. Would be nice to see him in a decent team again. Colorado perhaps, with Forsberg

Federov will leave Detroit, and many teams will line up for him. LA, Anaheim, St Louis, Rangers, Devils, Toronto, Tampa Bay.

Selane will see many offers. Dallas tried to sign him last summer, but he chose to stay with the Sharks whom were a contender in September. Expect Anaheim to be destination #1, followed by Dallas, St Louis, Detroit, LA, Rangers, and Colorado.

Sami Salo has consistency problems and is 29--not exactly that young. Edmonton is a small market-team, probably would've lost Niinima to free agency. They had to get something back for him. It actually turned out to be a decent deal and helped them make the playoffs.

Anaheim beat the Stars in Game 1 in 5th OT!! 5th!! Unbelievable.

yet one more reason why the nhl playoffs are far superior than nba playoffs...5 ots...hitting, great saves, up the ice action...and no freaking timeouts that make the last 2 minutes go on for 20 minutes...

kinell, Anaheim win both games in Dallas.

Bollox.

If Turco plays like he did last night in the remaining playoff games, the Stars will win the Cup. Good to see Lehtinen finally manage to get a shot past Giguere...got two past him...Dallas is going to win the next three to take the series, 4-2.
