NFL Thread

There is one person in this stadium, that is constantly screaming, in a way that is inexplicable. Such a terrible sound.

Chargers would make it a nervy finish. Good match up with the Pats now.

Fire the OC on the spot for that call. Imagine you take a sack.
Sack would have been bad in terms of field position, but an incomplete would have been worse. 40+ seconds saved for Baltimore. They got lucky with the two trusted vets in Rivers and Gates executing, but definitely high risk, low reward there on third and long.

That improved somewhat in the end, thank God.

On another note, love Romo's commentary

Hardly a major revelation on wildcard weekend but we've not watched the 2019 Superbowl winners yet. Some really mediocre football so far.

Chargers looked like the best team in the NFL at some points of the season, but that was incredibly dire. I don't believe one second they will get anything in New England.

New England haven't looked great themselves. Health of Gordon and Gronk will be big factors.

The Pats don't nearly have the same strength as the Ravens on the defensive side of the ball. The Bolts scored 23 points on the best defense in the NFL tonight at their own place, not bad at all.

Really struggle to believe Flacco doesn't do better.

I don't think he does, well, maybe he holds the ball better, but he also gets sacked more.

Only way the Ravens got back into that was because of the gutless defensive play calling by the Chargers. Backed off into zone coverage. Prior to the 8 minute mark they were in Lamar's grill, as soon as they slowed up he had time to move around the backfield and find open receivers. Even then that lob to Dixon was a result of him escaping defenders, Flacco just can't do that.

I don't know what to think of that game. Hurst got worked over at guard, Stanley and Orlando Brown jr were no better for most of the game. Some of Harbaugh's calls rubbed me up the wrong way (on side kick for a start). But most of that was down to meeting a better D that was schemed to fill gaps fast and Mornhinweg having no answer.

The Chargers took what the Ravens gave them and limited turnovers for the most part. They went about it the right way I think.

Is there any way the Saints don't make the Superbowl?

I remember last year everyone talked the same talk. There are always some teams who look great in the regular season, but then don't deliver in the playoffs (The Rams and the Saints last season...).

I still think NE in the playoffs is gonna be a different animal compared to NE in the regular season. I can't even remember the last time they lost in the divisional round.

I want a Chiefs - Rams bowl. Saints get in the way. Reason I want Eagles to win tonight is so Rams get easier ride against cowboys. But I wonder if Bears have the defense to stop New Orleans. St Louis doesn't.

Los Angeles, rather.

Someone should explain why American outdoor sports, baseball and football have their playoffs when its cold while the indoor sports have their playoffs when it's warm, makes no sense. It just looks too cold for football.
